In the Fullbringer Arc, Ikkaku fought against Moe Shishigawara - the Jackpot man. Every punch he landed seemed to be critical on Ikkaku, but Ikkaku pushed forward, relying on his fists to defeat Moe. What I like about this fight is despite Moe's impressive ability, his luck ran out when he faced Ikkaku, considered the luckiest man in all the Gotei 13. Moe is hand-to-hand combat, utilizing his jackpot ability to deliver critical blows on Ikkaku, but Ikkaku stood his ground like a real champ and it seems as if the two were evenly matched. However, as soon as Ikkaku head-butted Moe, it was all over. Moe looks like a typical high school delinquent, which I thought was spot-on in comparison with Ikkaku, who acts like a honorable delinquent in his Squad. It only makes sense that these two knuckleheads fight w/their fists.

Goki vs. Ggio Vega (The Transformering Beasts)
VS.
I'd like to call this BH Post a battle between the transforming beasts. You think they look quite a handful, but become even more of a threat when they transform into their beast-like appearance. Not only does their appearance change, but their strength and durability are amplified greatly. For Sui-Feng of Bleach & Yusuke of YYH, these two inflicted some damage on the two before they eventually managed to defeat the beasts. Today will be a battle of the beasts - Goki from YYH and Ggio Vega from Bleach. I will be comparing the following: Role in Story, Powers/Abilities, & Fight Record.
Role in Story ~ Goki
Goki met Hiei and Kurama earlier in the series to infiltrate the Spirit World for 3 valuable artifacts - the Forlorn Hope, the Shadow Sword, & The Orb of Baast. Goki is the holder of the Orb of Baast, where he is able to extract and imprison souls. Goki, a ruthless criminal, is the physically weaker than Hiei & Kurama, but stands tall at 9 ft. He underestimated Kurama at first, but soon displayed fear when Kurama used his rose whip to cut down a forest of trees. Goki is one of the first antagonist Yusuke fights in YYH. Yusuke demands Goki to return the Orb and release the imprisoned souls, but Goki didn't take kindly to this and fought the Spirit Detective. He transformed into his beast form (called Kyuhonki Transformation), which amplifies his muscles. Yusuke, still learning the ways of the Spirit Detective, was caught by Goki and was just about to devoured. However, just before being swallowed by Goki, Yusuke sticks a thick branch inside the demon's mouth and fires his trademark Spirit Gun directly into it. The Orb now was in Yusuke's hands and the souls returned to the respected children. He is never mentioned again in the series, but it's safe to assume the blast killed him.
Role in Story ~ Ggio
Ggio is introduced alongside Nirrge when 4 of Baraggan's Fraccion fell. Angered by this upsetting loss, Baraggan attempts to rise from his throne, but Ggio & Nirgge insist that he sits back down and they handle the enemy. Ggio faces off against Sui-Feng while Nirgge fights Omaeda. Ggio is a skilled hand-to-hand fighter, managing to stand on par with the Captain of the Onmitsukido (Secret Tactics). Ggio, as he was fighting Sui-Feng, is bound to a building, but he uses his Cero to free himself. Just as he was about to attack Sui-Feng, Omaeda intervenes in hopes to assist her Captain, but Ggio manages to beat Omaeda aside and continue on with her fight against Sui-Feng. Ggio, wanting to defeat Sui-Feng & Omaeda, releases his Zanpaktou - Tigre Estoque (Tiger Fang Swift Wind in Japanese) where he grows a tiger-like appearance. In this form, he fires projectiles at Sui-Feng to no avail, but the biggest innovation to his Ressurrecion is his amplifier power and speed. In order to become stronger, Ggio releases another form of Tigre Estooque called Tigre Estoque El Sable (Tiger Fang Swift Wind Great Swords) where he becomes incredibly large in size w/his forearms being replaced with huge blades. However, he fell victim to Sui-Feng's Suzemebachi as he is pierced twice and dies.
Powers/Abilities ~ Goki
Goki, being a criminal, has no distinct style of fighting. He uses his raw strength to try and beat Yusuke to submission. A unique ability of his is using the Orb of Baast to amplify his strength when devouring a soul. In his Kyukonki form, he becomes incredibly large, amplifying his strength - being able to life a tree from its roots. However, the greatest downfall of Goki is his lack of intelligence as he fell victim to Yusuke's Spirit Gun and became the 1st demon Yusuke takes out.
Powers/Abilities ~ Ggio
Ggio, as said above, is skilled at hand-to-hand combat as he was able to match Sui-Feng's attacks and speed (using Sonido). He is also a skilled swordsman, being able to combat Sui-Feng without having to release his Ressurrecion. As an Arrancar, he has high spiritual pressure and enhanced strength as shown when he kicked Sui-Feng into a building. However, his true power lies in his Ressurrecion, which gives him a tiger-like appearance w/blades replacing his forearms. He is able to fire projectiles and even amplify his muscles (Tigre Estoque El Sable). However, this form wasn't much utilized as he fell victim to Sui-Feng's Suzemebachi.
Fight Record ~ Goki
Goki has only 1 fight at the very beginning of YYH. His record is as follows:
Goki vs. Yusuke - Loss
Fight Record ~ Ggio
Ggio has only 1 fight against during the Fake Karakura Town Arc. His record is as follows:
Ggio vs. Sui-Feng - Loss
Verdict
And the winner is...
I think at the end of the day, Ggio was going to win over Goki for one reason and 1 reason alone - Goki isn't smart and Ggio is. Goki is a brute that relies on raw strength with zero strategy to win against his foes. He offered very little for being the very 1st opponent Yusuke fought. He underestimated Kurama and judged him based on his human appearance along - not really a smart thing to do Goki. Goki also went down way too easily, just sticking a thick branch to give a clear shot for Yusuke, Goki clearly underestimate the Spirit Detective. Ggio died easily too, but he put up more of a fight than Goki did. Ggio is agile, strong, and that's just his regular form. In his Tigre Estoque appearance, his power, agility, and durability are amplified and he can even grow larger (Tigre Estoque El Sable). I think Ggio offers more in variety - he is agile, skilled hand-to-hand combat, is a experienced swordsman, fire projectiles, and can amplify all that together. Ggio clearly is the victor.

RBT #14 - The Hug (A Ichihime moment)
ICHIHIME! My favorite couple in all of Bleach makes another great scene and this time, in a full-length feature animated flick. Ichigo, embarrassed by his defeat in Hell, has to save his friends once more - but Ichigo himself can very well end up going rampant in his Hollow form. This calls for Orihime to tenderly hug Ichigo from behind - telling him to come back to her. And Ichigo, going all Terminator, says the line "I'll be back." So awesome...so touching...Ichihime 4ever!

Gama vs. Findorr Calius (The Amplifying Tricksters)
VS.
When it comes to these two, they have an amplifier. An amplifier, in this case, is a unique ability that increases their strength & power. In both these respectful Anime, many characters have great amplifiers whether it's channeling energy through a weapon or channeling through one's body. These two are no exception as they utilize their unique amplifiers to boost up their morality in battle. Today I will be comparing these two unique characters, Findorr from Bleach & Gama from YYH. I will be comparing the following: Role in Story, Powers/Abilities, & Fight Record
Role in Story ~ Gama
Gama was introduced as being a member of Team Masho alongside Risho, Jin, Toya, & Bakken. He was the first opponent to fight Kurama (followed by Toya & Bakken) where he showcases his unique abilities of blood + paint. He managed to restrain Kurama's legs and spirit/demon power, but fell when Kurama managed to slice up Gama's body. Kurama gave him a choice - release the seal so that Gama would be sparred or die. In his final moments, he spews his blood all over Kurama in order for his spirit/demon energy to be sealed for a set amount of time. After Gama's death, Toya steps up to avenge his fallen brethren, hoping to take advantage of Kurama - who is still restrained of his spirit/demon energy.
Role in Story ~ Findorr
Findorr, alongside Charlotte, Abirama, Poww, Ggio, and Nirgge are introduced as Baraggan's 6 Fraccion. Baraggan orders Findorr to summon hollows to attack the 4 pillars the Gotei 13 are protecting to conceal the real Karakura town, but the revealed Shinigami: Hisagi, Kira, Ikkaku, & Yumichika were the ones protecting the pillars. Findorr fights Hisagi and gradually amplifies his power so that he fight on par against Hisagi. Earlier, Hisagi remarked that he was considerably weak, but after Findorr showcases his Afinar ability - he becomes much much formidable agains the Shinigami. After cutting off bits and pieces of his mask, he is eventually at a Captain-level and/the release of his Ressurrecion, shows off his water-based attacks. However, he falls before Hisagi's Zanpaktou as he tries to escape.
Powers/Abilities ~ Gama
What makes Gama's abilities unique is the idea that make-up can amplify one's spiritual energy and can do much more than just make a pretty face. Gama's abilities allows him to utilize his blood to amplify his spiritual energy (as shown when his speed and hand-to-hand are amplified). This ability is known as War Paint as it enhances Gama's strength and speed. By mixing in his blood and the paint, Gama was able to restrain Kurama's legs - as if he was being weighed down by something heavy. Gama, when he was killed by Kurama, put into effect one last curse, which sealed away Kurama's spirit/demonic energy for a set amount of time. In mixing his blood and his paint - he can strengthen his demonic energy and pretty much place curses on people when marked on specific parts of the body (EX: restraining Kurama's legs and restraining Kurama's chest). Even in death, Kurama was helpless against Toya & Bakken as he was unable to fully use his spirit/demon energy.
Powers/Abilities ~ Findorr
What makes Findorr an impressive Arrancar is his ability to literally "Stoop at one's level." When first introduced, he summoned various hollows by making a whistling like sound. However, his true ability lies in his mask - an inhibitor that allows his power to flourish when Findorr breaks of segments of his mask (called Afinar). He becomes stronger when he breaking bits and piece of his mask and when fully revealing his face, he's fighting at a Captain-Class level and above. Aside from this, he is capable of firing Cero (which is colored Indigo than Red), firing multiple bala, has enhanced Sonido & Hierro, and is an exert swordsman in conjunction to his Afinar (Face-Carving/Sculpting) ability. When releasing his Ressurrecion, his power is amplifier and, with his claws, he can fire a water current capable of destroying solid objects and can also fire water jets that envelop his opponents.
Fight Record ~ Gama
Gama has only 1 fight and doesn't have a pivotal role in YYH. His record is as follows:
Gama vs. Kurama - Loss
Fight Record ~ Findorr
Findorr has only 1 fight and doesn't have a pivotal role in Bleach. His record is as follows:
Findorr vs. Hisagi - Loss
Verdict
And the winner is..
Despite both Gama & Findorr having unique abilities, I think Findorr is more favorable because of his Afinar ability. Don't get me wrong, I think Gama's abilities are one of a kind, but all it did was 2 things - amplify his powers & create restraints. Other than that, he offered very little to Kurama as he was able to mop the floor with Gama easily. With Findorr, he progressively got stronger and even managed to trick Hisagi into thinking he was weak. Findorr's inhibitor allows him to restrain his powers, but when fully unmasked - he is a sight to behold. He fought at a Captain-class or higher, but unfortunately would fall victim to Hisagi's Zanpaktou. However, Findorr's Afinar abilities are more interesting that Gama's War Paint - it offered room for improvement on Findorr's part. Gama didn't much for me and that is why this victory goes to Findorr.

WBCR - I AM THE KENPACHI! (Grade A+)

DAMN! Kenpachi doesn't give 2 sh!ts about Stern Ritter V, Gremmy Thoumeaux's power of turning imagination into reality. Though this chapter was short, I enjoyed every single bit of it because Kenpachi's back. At the very start of the chapter, Isane, 4th division Lieutenant, asks Kenpachi where Captain Unohana is. Kenpachi states that she's dead and that he hated her - so it shouldn't matter if she died by his hands. So coldblooded of Kenpachi, but thats just like him to say that. That's what makes Kenpachi Zaraki such a badass character - he doesn't give a f*ck. Isane is relieved as she knows Captain Unohana's name will be inherited - a token to never forget who she was to to both Isane, her former Lieutenant, and Zaraki, the man who slayed her. Gremmy, setting up the stage of an anticipate battle with Kenpachi Zaraki, boasts that he is stronger than all the Stern Ritter and immediately imagines that his skin was as tough as the hardest steel. But Kenpachi cuts through him like butter and explains that there's nothing Gremmy can imagine that Kenpachi can't cut.

Suzuki vs. Charlotte Chuhlhourne (The "Beautiful" People)
VS.
Oh boy, where do I begin with this one? These two, in my opinion, are a perfect pair when it comes to personality. Self-proclaiming as being Beautiful, they thrive on that idea in order to win against their foes, but it backfires. These two don't have much of a pivotal role, but you can say that their ideology is on mark - the self-proclamation of being Beautiful in battle. Today is a matchup between YYH's Suzuki & Bleach's Charlotte Chuhlhourne. I will be comparing the following: Role in Story, Powers/Abilities, & Fight Record
Role in Story ~ Suzuki
Prior to being in the Dark Tournament, Suzuki fought against Tounger Toguro in the past, was easily defeated, and was sparred for being pointless to kill. It wouldn't be until later where Suzuk became the de facto leader of Team Uraotogi and the one responsible for creating the items used by his team (EX: Shishiwakamaru's Banshee Shriek & Cape of No Return). Suzuki, in the earlier rounds, disguised himself as an old man by the name of Onji. However, Genkai saw through this ruse and Onji revealed himself to be the "Beautiful" Suzuki. Having a clownish appearance, he is a Fighting Narcissist, but is prone to being defeated easily. He heavily relies on techniques and innovations in his items to overcome the odds, but this proved to be pointless when Genkai pummeled him. Suzuki, before the final match between Team Urameshi & Team Toguro handed Kurama & Kuwabara his own items - hoping it'll be essential to delivering devastating blows against Team Toguro. Later on in the Three-Kings Saga, he wants to redeem himself by training relentlessly under the tutelage of Genkai & Kurama to participate in the Demon Tournament. He won in the preliminaries, but, according to Toya, was no match in the actual tournament. He remains a ally of Team Urameshi alongside Chu, Rinku, Toya, Jin, & Shishiwakamaru.
Role in Story ~ Charlotte
Charlotte is introduced as a Fraccion under King Baraggan's tutelage alongside Findorr, Abirama, Poww, Ggio, & Nirgge. As Ikkaku, Yumichika, Kira, and Hisagi protected the 4 pillars from revealing the real Karakura Town, Yumichika had the unfortunate luck to come across Charlotte - a self-proclaimed beauty that believes true beauty derives from personality and heart. Yumichika, completely disagreeing with Charlotte, eventually becomes his doe and the two fight. Though Yumichika thought he was a comic relief Fraccion, it turns out that Charlotte wasn't just all talk. He bit back and proved to be a match against Yumichika, even going so further as to release Yumichika's true Zanpaktou in front of Charlotte. Charlotte was amazed by Yumichika's true colors and, despite releasing his Resurreccion, was drained of his Reiatsu and left for dead.
Powers/Abilities ~ Suzuki
Suzuki lacks physical strength, but what he makes up for it with his items. His items are not only innovative, but come in handy when it comes to facing opponents. An example is Suzuki's Dimensional Travel Sphere, a sphere that envelops anyone and transports them elsewhere. This was how he won against Kuwabara and how Shishiwakamaru won against him as well. Suzuki's demon energy is made up of the color of the rainbow - hence called Rainbow Cyclone. It only amplified his power, but after training with Genkai - this ability became reminiscent of Yusuke's shotgun attack. Lastly, he can amplify his muscles just by channeling his demon energy, but wasn't enough for Younger Toguro or Genkai,
Powers/Abilities ~ Charlotte
Charlotte has a way of saying aloud his techniques and, to be honest, I'm not going to go out of my way to type it out. I'm just going to say that he can fire Cero & can slash downwards & horizontal to a point where it can send his opponent crashing. He has enhanced strength and is a decent swordsman, standing on par with Yumichika when exchanging blows. In his Ressurrecion, his strength, hierro, and Sonido are amplified and his attack, Rose Blanca (White Rose Punishment) allows him to envelop an opponent in a thick and dark bush that conceals a person's spiritual energy. His abilities of an Arrancar are sub-par, but it wasn't enough for him to defeat Yumichika and his Zanpaktou's true abilities.
Suzuki's Fight Record
Suzuki has had a few fights in the Dark Tournament & Three-Kings Saga. His record is as follows:
Suzuki vs. Younger Toguro (past) - Loss
Suzuki (in disguise) w/Team Uraotogi vs. Team Gokai Six - Victory
Suzuki vs. Genkai - Loss
Suzuki vs. Demons in Preliminaries of Demon Tournament - Victory
Suzuki vs. Demons in Tournament - Loss
Charlotte's Fight Record
Charlotte was introduced during the war between the Gotei 13 & Aizen's forces. He's had 1 fight. His record is as follows:
Charlotte vs. Yumichika - Loss
Verdict
And the winner is...
Despite not really being a big fan of these two, I compared them strictly on the basis that they emphasize that they're beautiful. Personally, they're egotistical people and secondly, they didn't really offer much in terms of anything. They were minor villains that easily lost to their opponents. However, if I were to give this one a victory, I would have to give it to Charlotte because he offered a little more than Suzuki, was able to deliver some blows to his opponent, and stood on par against his opponent until he showed off his true colors. Despite having an eccentric personality and making long ass names for his attacks, he still showcases that he's not just all talk - he can truly bite back. I didn't see that with Suzuki at all. He got his ass handed to him in the past and in the present - what did he learn? Even when training and being at a S-class level, it wasn't enough. With Charlotte, he at least inflicted damage on his opponents where Suzuki thrived on his items for victory. Charlotte relied on everything he can - his sword, his enhanced durability, and his swordsmanship. This victory, hands down, goes to Charlotte.
So who do you think won? Suzuki from Bleach or Charlotte from YYH? Comment below and let me now. BH posts all throughout March on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, & Sundays (unless specified). Throwback #33 - Dem Faces (The Maturity of the Kurosaki Sisters)
The Kurosaki Sisters have played a pivotal role in Ichigo's life - being one the very reasons he fights for the Soul Society. However, it is during the Fullbringer Arc where Ichigo's frinedships are tested. Tsukishima's abilities allows him to manipulate one's memories. As such, Karin & Yuzu believe that Tsukishima is a close friend of theirs. Ichigo tries everything in his power to convince everyone otherwise, but Tsukishima has already planted the seed. This Throwback showcases that despite Tsukishima's abilities, Karin & Yuzu are two people Ichigo would never hurt or abandon. I mean look at those faces, how can you say No to that? They have grown mature throughout the series, showcasing that they are a team when it comes to the Kurosaki clinic and going to school.
To be perfectly honest, I love Karin & Yuzu - they are a team, though opposites, and look up to Ichigo. Ichigo is their role model and Ichigo looks up to them as well - wanting to do everything in his power to preserve their smiling faces. Together, the Kurosaki Family is a powerhouse when it comes to spiritual awareness. It was during the Fullbringer Arc though where Karin & Yuzu were gravely worried about Ichigo getting into a fight with Tsukishima - it is the only time where the sisters disagreed with their brother, but deep down - will always love him for who he is and what he is capable of. This sounds more like an Affinity (Affinity #2 to be exact) than a Throwback, but the Fullbringer arc demonstrates how much they've aged and how much they want to support and help Ichigo.
I hope you enjoyed this week's Throwback and as usual, you all stay classy now. Today's BH Post is below.

Shizuru Kuwabara vs. Karin Kurosaki (The Calm & Collected Sisters)
VS.
Welcome back to BH folks. Sorry I had to take a mini hiatus, but Wednesday's post between Kenpachi Zaraki & Younger Toguro was quite long and tired me out. Without further do, at the very end of February, I posted the BH post between Yuzu Kurosaki & Yukina. Today, we will be comparing the other sisters of our protagonists, Karin Yurosaki, sister of Ichigo Kurosaki, and Shizuru Kuwabara, sister of Kazuma Kuwabara. Unlike most of the BH posts, this will not focus on abilities because, for one, they can't really put up much of a fight. They're the side characters that have primary influence on Ichigo & Kazuma. They both have a sense of spiritual awareness around them, but not much is emphasized. Today I will be comparing the following: Role in Story, Personality, & Relationship to Protagonist.
Role in Story ~ Shizuru Kuwabara
Shizuru Kuwabara is an ally of Team Urameshi and is Kazuma Kuwabara's elder sister. In the anime rendition of YYH, Shizuru has more screen-time whereas Yusuke's mother, Atsuko, was emphasized more in the manga. Shizuru is 1st seen tagging alongside Keiko, Yukina, & Botan as they depart w/Team Urameshi for the Dark Tournament. She was only aware of this discovery after seeing Yusuke and Kazuma watching a video invitation to participate in the Dark Tournament. She develops an affinity with Sakyo, but knows that this newfound love wouldn't last since he is the antagonist of the Dark Tournament Saga alongside the Toguro brothers. Shizuru, during the final rounds in the Dark Tournament, was afraid that her brother died at the hands of the Toguro brothers, but it turns out it was all a ruse and Kazuma defeated Elder Toguro & also unlocked Yusuke's resolve. For the duration of YYH, Shizuru is a side character, a faithful ally to Team Urameshi and a supportive older sister to her brother, Kazuma.
Role in Story ~ Karin Kurosaki
Karin Kurosaki, alongside Yuzu, are Ichigo's little sisters. The Kurosaki family is fond of having some sense of spiritual awareness, but Karin is the 4th member of the family that can sense more than Yuzu (the 1st being their mother, Masaki, their father, Isshin, and her brother, Ichigo). Karin is a side character, using calm and collected. Karin finds out of Ichigo being a Shinigami and worries over his safety. She explains that ever since Karin was attacked by a hollow and Ichigo saved her, Karin has been aware of the existence of hollows & Shinigami. She doesn't play much of a pivotal role, but she soon meets the 10th division captain & lieutenant, Toshiro Hitsugaya & Rangiku Matsumoto. Ever since she met them and knows of Ichigo being a Shinigami, she wants to do everything in her power to help him. She asks assistance of Kisuke Urahara, but not much is explained if she has newfound abilities or if she will participate later on in the Wandenreich war.
Personality ~ Shizuru Kuwabara
Shizuru is a calm and collected person - always smoking a cigarette. Shizuru is the complete opposite of her bumbling, idiotic, and moronic brother. Though she's tough on him, Shizuru truly is a kind person who only wants what's best. She doesn't have any spiritual power, but is seen using brute force to take matters in her own hands. Much like her brother, she is also spiritually aware and is still a faithful supporter of Team Urameshi.
Personality ~ Karin Kurosaki
Karin Kurosaki is also a calm and collected person in comparison to her motherly and worry-wart sister, Yuzu. Karin comically, at the very beginning, punched her father for being a moron. She is also seen as a helpful addition to the Kurosaki clinic, but, like Yuzu, worries for her brother's safety. Later, Karin is shown wanting to aid her brother since he's been doing so much for the Kurosaki family as well as his responsibilities as a Shinigami.
Shizuru & Kazuma Kuwabara
Shizuru genuinely cares for Kazuma's safety as seen when she was concerned if her brother was actually dead when Younger Toguro punctured him near his heart. Shizuru also wants what's best for her brother - to get good grades and to get into a good school for the Kuwabara name. She's a tough, yet-loving sister that is a loyal supporter to Team Urameshi. Shizuru, in terms of personality, is the complete opposite of her brother, but the two get along as normal brother & sister.
Karin & Ichigo Kurosaki
Karin genuinely worries and cares for her brother like any younger sister should. She becomes more concerned for his wellbeing when she discover Ichigo is a Shinigami. The two are close as they were often close growing up with their mother, Masaki, being the center of their universe. Karin is also supportive of her brother, wanting to help out (yet to be seen, but still a noteworthy effort on Karin's part). The two get along just like any normal brother & sister - loving, caring, and wanting to do what's best for one another.
Verdict
And the winner is...
Karin Kurosaki offers more in the story since Bleach is ongoing & YYH is already over. As much as I like Shizuru, Karin has more screen-time and genuinely wants to help out Ichigo in his Shinigami endeavors whereas Shizuru only wants to help out her brother in getting into a good school. Karin's development is seen when she was talking to Urahara, genuinely concerned that her brother has done so much and she wants in in helping out. Shizuru is more limited in YYH whereas Karin clearly becomes a reason why Ichigo fights - to protect and preserve the Human World & the Soul Society. With Shizuru's brother, you didn't get a sense if he was fighting to protect her sister or fighting for Yusuke's team as a mere fighter. Personally, I believe this victory goes to Karin since Bleach is still every Wednesday.
So who do you think won? Karin from Bleach or Shizuru from YYH? Comment below and let me know. BH posts every Monday, Wednesday, Friday, & Sunday (unless specified) throughout March. The following March BH posts are up:

RBT #13 - Yachiru & her nicknames
Since we're on a roll with the 11th division and just wrapped up the Toguro-Zaraki Marchup(s), I might as well talk about Yachiru once more. Yachiru has the tendency to give people nicknames upon meeting them. For example she gives Orihime the nickname "Big-Booby" and Ichigo "Ichi." It's cute, random, and memorable. And this is why Yachiru is awesome!

Younger Toguro vs. Kenpachi Zaraki (The Demons)
VS.
The much anticipated Bleach Hakusho Matchup between the Toguro-Zaraki teams is between its respectable, renowned, and bloodthirsty leaders - Younger Toguro & Kenpachi Zaraki. These two not only are formidable foes, but have garnered the respect of the protagonists, Ichigo & Yusuke. Feared for their strength, cruelty, and merciless nature - these two men are the epitome of the word: Warrior. This will be a little longer than usual since I want to cover a lot on these two badasses. Without further ado, let's get this Matchup started. I will be comparing the following: Backstory, Role in Story, Powers/Abilities, Personality, Relationship to Protagonist, Fight Record, & Influence on Story (New!)
Backstory ~ Younger Toguro
Prior to becoming a demon, Toguro was once a human who, alongside his brother & Genkai, created a dojo and dedicated themselves to martial arts. However, everything changed when the Demon Kairen entered their dojo and killed off all of their pupils. Angered by the loss of his pupils, Toguro challenged Kairen and lost. After this loss, Toguro disappeared for 3 months - detaching himself from everyone so he can become stronger, but at the same time - a part of him died the day Kairen entered his life. Toguro & Genkai eventually challenged Kairen in the Dark Tournament and won, but it wouldn't be long before Toguro wishes for the Committee to turn him into a Demon, greatly upsetting Genkai. Sometime after the Toguro Brothers transformation from human to demon, they enlisted the help of Karasu & Bui and together - formed Team Toguro for the upcoming Dark Tournament and working alongside Sakyo, one of the renowned members of the Black Black Club.
Backstory ~ Kenpachi Zaraki
Prior to becoming the 11th Captain of the Gotei 13 or heck, even before meeting his future Lieutenant, Kenpachi was born in the lawless district in the North Valley of Rukongai - Zaraki. As a child, took it upon himself to take the Zanpaktou of a already dead Shinigami and implanted his soul upon it to make it officially his Zanpaktou. His renowned swordsmanship improved overtime as he garnered the attention of then 11th Division Captain & current "Kenpachi," Yachiru Unohana. This was the first fight Zaraki felt anxious and fearful of his life, but later came to admire and respect her. Sometime later, he met a little girl and named her after his admirer and the district she was born in - Yachiru Kusajishi. He, alongside Yachiru, also met Ikkaku & Yumichika, now forming the current 11th Division. Zaraki Kenpachi took it upon himself to kill the current "Kenpachi" and became the new 11th Division Captain. During his time as a Captain, he was trained in the art of Kendo by then Captain-Commander, Genryusai Shigekuni Yamamoto.
Role in Story ~ Younger Toguro
Before the Dark Tournament took place, the Toguro brothers were working under Gonzo Tarukane to lure out Yusuke & Kuwabara + make the ice apparition Yukina cry (her tears morph into gem stones). The Toguro Brothers were head of the Apparition Gang (made up of Miyuki, Inmaki, & Gokumonki). He intentionally lost to Yusuke & Kuwabara to pave way for the Dark Tournament, held by the Black Black Club where various Demons participate in a martial arts tournament. Team Toguro was Team Urameshi's final opponents and are the antagonists in the Dark Tournament Saga. It is unfortunate that Elder Toguro, Karasu, & Bui loss, but it was the anticipated fight between Younger Toguro & Yusuke Urameshi that would decide the victor of the Dark Tournament as well as bargain who'd win/die at the end between Sakyo, sponsoring Team Toguro, and Koenma, sponsoring Team Urameshi. Toguro wanted Yusuke to unlock his true potential as Genkai's true disciple - killing Genkai and "killing" Kuwabara. With this, Yusuke finished off the 100% Toguro and he met his demise at the hands of his fully-charged & enormous Spirit Gun. After his defeat, Toguro is last seen in the Spirit World where he asked to be sentenced to Limbo despite Koenma pleading him otherwise. It can be said that Toguro wanting to go to Limbo is a testament to the Sin of becoming a Demon & becoming corrupted with power and his obsession with the Demon who took his humanity away, Kairen. A painful and harsh lesson that Toguro will have to endure for 10,000 cycles.
Role in Story ~ Kenpachi Zaraki
At the very beginning of the Rescue Arc, Kenpachi Zaraki was one of Ichigo's opponents (the first two being against Ikkaku & Renji). The two fought valiantly and it came out to be a draw, but Kenpachi, admiring Ichigo's strength and tenacity, gave him the victor. Sometime after recovering, Kenpachi aids Ichigo's team in saving Rukia and challenged Kaname & Komamura, putting both his life & rank at state in aiding Ichigo's cause to rescue Rukia. It wouldn't be long before the Soul Society has to face its new enemy - Aizen Sousuke & his army of Arrancars. Kenpachi, alongside Byakuya, was forced to take-back Captain Hitsugaya's squadron as to prevent further assistance in Ichigo's rescuing of Orihime. However, deep down, Kenpachi could care less about orders as he, Byakuya, Unohana, & Kurotsuchi enter Hueco Mundo and fight against the Espada. Here, Kenpachi fought valiantly against Nnoitra. Kenpachi almost lost his life, but he remembers the Old Man (Yamamoto) teaching him Kendo. Utilizing what he taught from the Old Man, Kenpachi subdues Nnoitra. After Aizen's defeat, the Soul Society has to deal with its new enemy - the Wandenreich, led by Yhwach. Kenpachi easily defeats 3 Stern Ritters, but lost terribly to Yhwach as he holds him by the neck, almost lifeless. It wasn't until later where Captain Kyoraku, now 1st Division Captain after Yamamoto's death, tells the Central 46 that Yachiru Unohana will train Zaraki Kenpachi in the art of fighting. The two Kenpachi(s) fight with Zaraki ending up winning against his former admirer, but is saddened by her loss as it is the most entertaining fight he's ever had. He hears a voice coming from his Zanpaktou, now being able to communicate with it as he could never had in the past. Just recently, he reappears in the latest chapter, ready to fight the unnamed Stern Ritter.
Powers/Abilities ~ Younger Toguro
Toguro is one of Yusuke's toughest opponent and as such, he poses a true threat to humans and demons alike. Upon first meeting Yusuke, Toguro only exerted a little bit of his power and it did a number on Yusuke & Kuwabara. However, after unlocking Yusuke's resolve - Toguro was able to fight at 100% full power. His primary ability is called Percentage power, amplifying and manipulating his muscles to the point where he truly does look inhuman. As seen in the picture, he is at 100%. Before, however, at 85%, Toguro was still kicking it as he was able to do considerable damage to Yusuke (seen breaking Yusuke's arm, beating him to a pulp, and throwing him across the stage). It wasn't until Yusuke found his true resolve thanks to Toguro "killing" Kuwabara that Yusuke was able to defeat the fully-powered 100% Toguro with a enormous Spirit Gun. Some of Toguro's other abilities include flicking his finger which can do considerable damage (it almost left a gash on Yusuke's body) and charging his energy into his arm that eliminates anything when in contact. As a demon, Toguro also has the ability to devour souls to amplify his power and durability. Even though Toguro is a powerful demon, he is only at B-class, considerably lower than S-class demons like Raizen, Yomi, or Mukuro.
Powers/Abilities ~ Kenpachi Zaraki
Prior to becoming a full-fledged Captain, he was renowned in swordsmanship - testing out his blade to any who oppose him. Even as a kid, Yachiru Unohana, the former 11th Division Captain & 1st Kenpachi, said that she was too much for Zaraki. As a Captain, Zaraki Kenpachi learned Kendo from Captain Yamamoto - amplifying his spirit energy a lot more than when he just used one arm in swinging his sword. Kenpachi's Zanpaktou is always in its Shikai state - amplifying his Spirit energy to the point where he has become a feared and renowned Captain. He was able to take-on both Kaname Tosen & Sajin Komamura in their Bankai states and this was way before he used Kendo on Nnoitra or found out that his Zanpaktou finally communicated with him. In fighting Yachiru Unohana to the death, he unlocked his true power and resolve. One of Kenpachi's strongest attributes is his ability to endure blow by blow by his opponents - having enhanced endurance, durability, and strength in combat. Much like a brick wall, it'll take a lot before it can truly be toppled. His Reiatsu truly is unruly when it comes to combat - exerting everything when his eyepatch is off (which conceals his Spirit Energy). As a Captain, he is one of the strongest in representing the Gotei 13.
Younger Toguro & Yusuke Urameshi
Younger Toguro is the first opponent Yusuke fought at the very end of the Spirit Detective Saga. It's safe to say that Yusuke is downright pissed off that a new enemy shows up and is even stronger than Yusuke. However, deep down, Yusuke had a little respect for Toguro - to be powerful in strength and in mind, to get whatever you want, and to enjoy the thrill of fighting. Yoguro mercilessly built up Yusuke's confidence and unlocked his resolve and true power by killing Genkai and "killing" Kuwabara. These two are a lot like - both are affiliated with Genkai, are powerful warriors, have respect for one another, and deep down - have a history that defines who they are and what they'll eventually become. Younger Toguro wanted the ultimate battle with Yusuke and he got it - dying with a smile on his face and facing the repercussions of his past mistakes after being turned into a Demon. Like Genkai said, Toguro truly does care for Yusuke, even if's twisted. Much like a father-figure, Younger Toguro relentlessly and without mercy only built up Yusuke - in strength, body, and mind.
Kenpachi Zaraki & Ichigo Kurosaki
Kenpachi Zaraki's first fight with Ichigo was enjoyable, being able to release the full extent of his power. As seen in the picture, Kenpachi was at his limit as he fell in defeat to Ichigo. After this, he has been wanting to fight Ichigo for personal enjoyment and to see who is stronger. It's safe to say that Kenpachi has a lot of respect for Ichigo - being relentless in battle, durable, agile, and most of all - being able to find his resolve. Kenpachi likes to pick on Ichigo as seen when kicking Ichigo after being grabbed by Yammy. In short, Kenpachi and Ichigo are frenemies (friends & enemies) and much like anybody he faces, Kenpachi only wants to become stronger so that he can challenge them once more to the death. They are a lot alike - always saving the day, have something they want to protect, and are continuously getting stronger. They have both build up each other - in strength, body, and mind.
Fight Record ~ Younger Toguro
Toguro has had a lot of fights with his former teammates and the renowned Team Urameshi. His record is as follows:

Kenpachi Zaraki vs. Yachiru Unohana (Final Round) - Win
Influence on Story ~ Younger Toguro
Toguro, despite wanting to go to Limbo, plays a pivotal part in YYH. He was Yusuke's toughest opponent yet, but despite this - he is content with his loss and wanting to rethink his ways for 10,000 cycles. Toguro, as I said above, cares for Yusuke and has built him up in strength, body, & mind. Toguro reshapes Yusuke's resolve in fighting as Yusuke ventures forth fighting even stronger opponents like Shinobu, the previous Spirit Detective, & Yomi, one of 3 former Demon rulers of Demon World. Toguro paved a way for Yusuke to be a better person - unlocking his true reason for fighting - to protect those he cares for whether it be human or demon. Despite Toguro being a Class B Demon, Yusuke has had to fight S-Class Demons who are just as strong as Toguro. Toguro is the one who unlocked Yusuke's resolve that'll be the central focus of his maturity and growth throughout the duration of YYH. Toguro sees Yusuke as a splitting image of who he once was - wanting to fight
Influence on Story ~ Kenpachi Zaraki
Kenpachi plays a pivotal role in building up Ichigo's character. What Ichigo lacked in the past was power and resolve. However, after fighting Kenpachi and various powerful foes - Ichigo had a reason to fight, had someone worth dying for, and preserving the nature of the Human World & The Soul Society. Kenpachi is seen as Ichigo's rival and he knows deep down Ichigo will only get stronger (much like how Toguro thinks of Yusuke). Kenpachi is, currently in the story, a special war-time potential alongside Ichigo & Aizen against the Wandenreich. You can say that since Kenpachi can now communicate with his Zanpaktou, he has grown a lot stronger. In all of Bleach, Kenpachi is one of Ichigo's closest allies, having partaken in the war against the Espada & the Stern Ritter. Kenpachi, alongside Byakuya & Ichigo, are 3 of the strongest protagonists in Bleach.
Verdict
And the winner of this anticipated Toguro-Zaraki Matchup is...
This had to be one of the hardest things to judge considering these two are on the top of my list in Favorite Bleach & YYH Characters. However, I think at the end of the day - it was obvious who was going to win. Kenpachi's upbringing is unknown, but what you do know is that he was a strong and capable swordsman. He only got stronger as time progressed and as a Captain-class Shinigami, he truly does shine when it comes to the Gotei 13. I really do admire Toguro's intentions (even if twisted), but the truth of the matter is - Toguro would be no match for Kenpachi. Toguro is a really powerful demon, but the one drawback to his character is the fact that he's only a B-Class level Demon, meaning that S-class demons could just as easily eat him out, spit him out, and call it a day. With Kenpachi, anything goes - whether it be friend or foe, Kenpachi can be just as powerful. Toguro is a man of character whose transformation is indeed tragic, but with Kenpachi, his childhood is still a mystery. The only thing you know is that he was a demon from the get-go and that's it. With Toguro, he was once a human, was Genkai's lover, and was a respected and well-versed Martial Arts instructor. As time progressed, he grew corrupt w/power because of Kairen. Here's the best way to say this - Toguro transformed from a human to a demon whereas Kenpachi IS a demon. I feel more sympathetic towards Toguro, but with Kenpachi - I feel that he offered more in power and role in story. Though both don't have many techniques, I believe at the end of the day - The demon can take on a transformed demon any day, anytime, and anywhere.

WBCR - He's back!!! (Grade A+)
YES! Kenpachi Zaraki appears at the very end of this chapter to save the day. Before his arrival, some things happened - a new Stern Ritter appeared who has the ability to make his imagination a reality, Guenael is killed by the Stern Ritter Guremi, and supposedly, according to Isane, Kensei & Rose are indeed dead. So this week's chapter got a lot better when I saw Kenpachi at the end to save Yachiru, who was struggling against the new Stern Ritter - Guremi. Guremi killed off Guenael for being weak (despite saying that his abilities are unique) and supposedly Kensei & Rose, but Yachiru wasn't about to give in since she just released her Zanpaktou. However, the enemy caught her attack and Yachiru's bones suddenly felt like they were breaking. Guremi explains that what if Yachiru's bones in her arm were made of cookies and, wouldn't you know it, her arm gave out and she could no longer stand. And before Guremi could do anything, Kenpachi comes crashing through the wall, wondering what the fuss was all about with Yachiru's reiatsu being low and realizing it was "this little sh*t" behind it all. Overall I love this Chapter - a welcoming back to my favorite character, Kenpachi Zaraki. I am also curious of what Guremi will do next and if Yachiru will continue fighting. I also am curious to know if there is a way to revive Kensei & Rose back or if what the new Stern Ritter is saying is true. He could've easily manipulated Isane into thinking that they were already dead (Think about it). Pretty damn good chapter - Grade A+. I hope you enjoyed this week's WBCR and as always, you all stay classy now. The Younger Toguro vs. Kenpachi fight will be up later.

Affinity #29 - Best of Friends (Ikkaku & Yumichika)
In Affinity #11, I talked about the 11th division as a whole. A bunch of funny characters they are, but when needed to be, they are all strong, committed, and aren't to be underestimated. Today, however, I want to strictly focus on the 3rd and 5th seat of the 11th division, dating back prior to joining the 11th Division and the Gotei 13 - Ikkaku Madarame & Yumichika Ayasegawa. It's unknown on how these two have known each other, but it's safe to say that they've been friends for a long time - much like brothers. Before meeting Kenpachi & Yachiru, these two were always roaming together, looking for opponents to fight in hopes to one day fight the best of the best. These two are polar opposites as one is always about combat and the other is a spectator. One is honorable and the other a Narcissist. Nonetheless, they have each other's back and are supportive not only to each other, but to their future Captain & Lieutenant. It wasn't before Ikkaku fought Kenpachi that they both decided to join the Gotei 13 to fight under his mantle - hoping they'll challenge the best if they work for the best. As so begins the formation of the current 11th Division- Kenpachi, Yachiru, Ikkaku, & Yumichika.

Elder Toguro vs. Yachiru Kusajishi (The Playful Sidekicks on Back)
VS.
Before we get to the anticipated Matchup on Wednesday between Younger Toguro & Kenpachi Zaraki, I wanted to talk about the two people who are always seen on Toguro & Kenpachi's backs - Elder Toguro & Yachiru Kusajishi. As seen in the picture, Elder Toguro & Yachiru are the right hand man/right hand woman of Team Toguro & of the 11th Division and are 2nd strongest next to them. Both are playful individuals, thirsty for battle and aren't to be underestimated by any means. One is an adult and the other a child, but their upbringing is quite twisted to say the least. Without further ado, let's start off Monday with Elder Toguro from YYH and Yachiru Kusajishi from Bleach by comparing the following: History, Role in Story, Relationship to Toguro/Kenpachi, Powers/Abilities, & Fight Record.
History (Elder Toguro)
Much like his younger brother, Elder Toguro was once a human 50 years ago. He, alongside his brother and Genkai, built a dojo together where they trained pupils. However, everything changed when the Demon Kairen broke into the Dojo and massacred every Pupil. This angered the Toguro brothers to no end, but they stood no match against this formidable demon. However, this changed when the Toguro brothers participated in the Dark Tournament, defeated the demon Kairen, and wished to be made demons so that they'll never age & they'd continue to train. Sometime after this, the Toguro brothers defeated Karasu & Bui (them later joining) and were under Sakyo's care.
History (Yachiru Kusajishi)
A long time ago, Yachiru met Kenpachi in one of the worst parts of Rukongai. She was first introduced as a nameless child, born in 79th district: Kusajishi. Kenpachi named her after the very person he came to respect: Yachiru. Yachiru was fascinated with the sight of blood as her fated meeting with Kenpachi was met with a mountain of corpses. Despite being a fragile little child, she wasn't afraid of blood, Kenpachi, or his sword. Ever since then, she joined Kenpachi in the Gotei 13 and became lieutenant of the 11th division under his mantle.
Role in YYH ~ Elder Toguro
Elder Toguro, alongside his brother, are part of the renowned Team Toguro during the Dark Tournament Saga. Before that, however, the Toguro brothers were hired by Gonzo Tarukane to make Yukina, an ice apparition, to cry because her tears are morphed into gem stones. After Yusuke & Kuwabara fought against the Triad, the Toguro Brothers fought and intentionally lost to the duo to make room for the Dark Tournament where Yusuke & Younger Toguro would have their bout. During the Dark Tournament, Team Toguro fought Team Gorenja and Elder Toguro easily killed 3/5 of its members. Team Toguro would finally meet their demise at the hands of Team Urameshi as Kuwabara dealt a devastating blow against Elder Toguro. However, before Yusuke & Younger Toguro fought, Elder Toguro was discarded by his own brother who considers him "Dead." It didn't take long before Elder Toguro was taken in by Shinbou Sensui and was eaten by Gourmet to have a new body to recuperate in. He eventually met his end by Kurama, who plunged him in the Sinning Tree, a hell of hallucinations that goes on forever.
Role in Bleach ~ Yachiru Kusajishi
Yachiru was first introduced when Ichigo was just about to fight Kenpachi Zaraki. As she watched her Captain & the Ryoka fight, she soon came to respect Ichigo's strength and believed he is the only one who can give a hell of a fight to her Captain. Sometime after Ichigo's recuperation, she joins her Captain in aiding Ichigo's team against the various Captains & Lieutenants that are after them. She is later seen watching Kenpachi fight against 5th Espada, Nnoitra Gilga. Yachiru watches in awe as her Captain is having the time of his life fighting Nnoitra, but at the same time worries because Nnoitra was empowering Kenpachi bit by bit. In the end Kenpachi ends up defeating the 5th Espada and Yachiru is greatly concerned in treating her Captain's wounds. Much much later, Yachiru is seen fighting against Guenael Lee in the Thousand-Year Blood War Arc where she finally unsheathes her Zanpaktou revealing its ability - Sanpo Kenju.
Younger & Elder Toguro
The Toguro brothers, who were once human, were men of honor who dedicated themselves to martial arts until Kairen changed their fates and way of living. Since they're brothers, they genuinely care for one another, either in human or demon form. However, since their transformation from human to demon, they became twisted, corrupted, and sadistic in bringing an end to those who oppose them. Elder Toguro was always his brother's sword and shield up until Elder Toguro's loss by Kuwabara. Younger Toguro lost all respect for his brother and punched him away from the Tournament.
Kenpachi & Yachiru
Yachiru is the first person who quickly became attached to Kenpachi and since then, the two are inseparable. You could say that Yachiru is Kenpachi's daughter since Yachiru is a father-figure to her since he took her in when she was just a little child who didn't know any better. They genuinely care for one another and Yachiru is always seen on Kenpachi's back regardless of who they are fighting. Yachiru is Kenpachi's #1 supporter and she will always be there to boost up Kenpachi's confidence in his fights. Some examples include Kenpachi's fight w/Ichigo & Nnoitra - Yachiru was always the spectator and cheering for Kenpachi to give it his all and, importantly, to have a hell of a time.
Powers/Abilities ~ Elder Toguro
Elder Toguro was once a human, but requested to be turned into a demon shapeshifter. By manipulating the anatomy and physiology of his body, he ca move about his organs freely so that anything his opponents hit isn't vital or lethal. He can elongate his fingers to pierce his opponents as well as being able to transform upon will (EX: turning into a shield or sword). Upon being eaten by Gourmet, Elder Toguro inhabited his body and, much like a parasite, took possession. Since then, he has the ability to use telepathy & absorb one's power (in the Chapter Black Saga). Elder Toguro is the longest living antagonist in YYH, being introduced at the very end of the Spirit Detective Saga up until the Chapter Black Saga.
Powers/Abilities ~ Yachiru Kusajishi
Yachiru, being a lieutenant level Shinigami, has great spiritual power despite her age and playful and carefree nature. As noted when first meeting Ichigo, Yachiru is incredibly agile, being able to softly land on Ichigo's shoulder without him noticing at first. As Yachiru is a kid, she utilizes her so-called infiltration expertise when it comes to mischief. Another thing that surprises me about Yachiru is her strength when shown carrying Kenpachi on her shoulders after his loss against Ichigo. And recently, Yachiru showcases her Zanpaktou abilities - Sanpo Kenju (Three-Step Sword Beasts). When releashing her Zanpaktou, two creatures manifest behind her and much like copying, the beasts mimic Yachiru's every attack so that one precedes after another. This means that there's a high probability that Yachiru can inflict damage on her opponents since her attack is 3x upon her Zanpaktou's release.
Fight Record ~ Elder Toguro
Elder Toguro has had a few fights. His record is as follows:
Elder Toguro w/Team Toguro vs. Team Gorenja - Win
Elder Toguro vs. Kuwabara - Loss
Elder Toguro (in Gourmet's body) vs. Kurama - Loss
Fight Record ~ Yachiru Kusajishi
Yachiru had her first fight recently. Her record is as follows:
Yachiru Kusajishi vs. Guenael Lee - Unconfirmed (in progress)
Verdict
And the winner is...
Yachiru, despite being small, is quite a formidable opponent. She is a Lieutenant level Shinigami and not many would come to question if she was a threat or not. Well, after seeing her Zanpaktou abilities in action for the first time last chapter, I can safely say Yachiru kicks a lot of butt and the fact that she's been holding this back from the audience - it's safe to assume that Yachiru is a special little girl. For Elder Toguro, his abilities didn't really impress me and he lost way way way too easily to Kuwabara's Sprit Fly Swatter. Yachiru offers variety and is a more fun character. For Elder Toguro, his backstory was pretty tragic, but his demonic transformation messed up his way of thinking - he grew cocky, overconfident, and abandoned honor. Yachiru's upbringing is still a mystery and when a character has not much development - it's interesting to see how she'll turn out and where she'll go. A mysterious character with little development at times can be interesting than a fleshed-out character who you know everything about. Yachiru always has a smile on her face regardless of the situation and, in my opinion, can wipe the floor with Elder Toguro by using Sanpo Kenju to attack him 3x. Despite Yachiru only showcasing her abilities last chapter, she offers a more interesting power than Elder Toguro. This victory goes to the ever-so adorable, lovable, and carefree Lieutenant of the 11th Division - Yachiru Kusajishi.
