"With great power comes great responsibility" is a saying everyone knows very well (Thanks Uncle Ben!) and it is because of the tapped potential of power that any heroes in the fictional or nonfictional world can exceed their limits so long as they are responsible. In Bleach, it is no different when the Shinigami wield their Zanpaktou ~ it's a bond that fosters over time, but the same principle applies ~ Great Power & Responsibility. Teamwork is an important aspect between Shinigami & their Zanpaktou ~ a power so unrivaled that their very foundation is bound to it's significance and meaning. In the filler arc (as seen in the picture), we see the physical manifestations of the Zanpaktou come about as they are at ends with their owners (that and they're being controlled by Muramasa), the Shinigami. At the very end of the arc, it comes to show Zanpaktou want to be treated as people and they want their owners (Shinigami) to be responsible for their actions when wielding them. Lack of teamwork and sympathy only puts down the Zanpaktou and knowing there is room for improvement and fostering a friendship, the bond between Shinigami & Zanpaktou is better than ever. Examples are Hitsugaya + Hyorinmaru, Renji + Zabimaru, & Rangiku + Haineko. Their partnership is based off trust, respect, responsibility, and having an understanding that power itself is both a test of endurance (wielding it) and control (taking action). It could also be seen as a sibling-like relationship too (AKA ~ Hyorinmaru is a brother-figure to Hitsugaya Toshiro). or perhaps like a close friend (AKA ~ Rukia & Sode no Shirayuki).
I hope you enjoyed this week's Affinity. Look forward to Affinities every Tuesday. As always, you al stay classy now.
