Throwback #44 - The Ultimate Troll (Gin Ichimaru)

Due to the severity of Rukia's crimes in Karakura Town (almost becoming human + giving her Shinigami powers to Ichigo), Rukia was sentenced to be executed at the top of Sokyoku Hill. However, there was an "attempt" of kindness on Gin's part as he asked Rukia if she wanted to be free. This not only shocked the men in robes as seen in the picture, but it gave Rukia a sliver of hope that she may not face death after all. Unfortunately, the Ultimate Troll trolls Rukia and broke Rukia's faith as Gin jokingly stated that he wasn't actually going to save Rukia from death. That sliver of hope vanished and as Rukia screams from her loss of faith & hope, Gin smiles. Gin's character from the get-go is scary and mysterious, but what's even frightening about him is his unpredictability. Rukia had always hated Gin, but in that moment of time ~ Gin became her knight-in-shining armor that turned out to be nothing more than a joke. Gin's playfulness in this situation stems from his twisted sense of humor as well as his inability to do a thing about it due to the consequences that may arise if he were to save Rukia + his "allegiance" to Aizen. Gin, as we see later on, isn't that bad of a guy, but his upbringing can attribute to why he asks so mysterious and nonchalant as well as "acting" on the part of siding with Aizen. However, Gin's true nature and intentions were never brought into light (with the exception of Rangiku) and he'll forever be known as that creepy, mysterious, and smiling Troller by everyone whose known him.

I hope you enjoyed this week's Throwback. Look forward to Throwbacks every Friday. Until then, I'll see you all Tuesday and you stay classy now!
