BCC 2 Match #12 - Tali'Zorah nar Rayya vs. Lucy Heartfilia (Mass Effect vs. Fairy Tail)

VS.

TGIF! Welcome back to another installment of BCC 2 with featured collaboration from my best friend & author of the Trueraiderlaker blog,  MechG. BCC 2 is pitting the best of the best when it comes to Videogames & Anime. The emphasis on BCC (Big-BEEWBED Catfight) is on the lovely ladies from each franchise, judging their story, personality, and appeal as the basis of the subject matter as well deciding on the consensus on whose the better woman in our personal opinion. So far, the Videogame Babes are still leading 6-5 against the Anime Cuties. MechG judged last week's posts, but yours truly will be deciding the consensus for this week. Today's Matchup is Mass Effect's Tali'Zorah nar Rayya & Fairy Tail's Lucy Heartfilia. Let's jam!

Story (Tali)
Although not so much is known about Tali’s early life, by the she reached maturity, she began her Pilgrimage, a rite of passage that Quarians must take on to prove their worth to the fleet. While Tali was on her Pilgrimage, she was attacked by Saren’s forces after recovering an audio file that revealed Saren’s attack on Eden Prime and retreated to the Citadel. While fending off a group of assassins, she was rescued by Commander Shepard’s team and tagged along with him/her. On board the Normandy, Tali reveals more about her life: her mother died due to an airborne virus and her dad is the head of the Admiralty Board of the Quarian Migrant Fleet. She also gave out insight on how the Quarians created the Geth and how they rebelled against them, leading to the Quarian-Geth war. When the Normandy was attacked, resulting in Shepard’s “death,” Tali completed her pilgrimage and worked her way up to become a respected figure onboard the Migrant Fleet. While she on a mission to the human colony of Freedom’s Progress, Tali runs into Shepard along with Cerberus agents, Jacob Taylor and Miranda Lawson. Tali was surprised to see Shepard alive and well, but disappointed to see him/her work with Cerberus who were known for their anti-alien antics throughout the galaxy. She eventually rejoins Shepard after Shepard rescued her after being pinned down by the Geth, resulting in the deaths of many of her Quarian brethren. When the Reapers attacked Earth and eventually the entire galaxy in 2186, Shepard ventured to bring every alien race together. Shepard suggested to Tali that there is some way to bring peace between the Quarians and Geth as a way to get them to become assets to fight the Reapers. When the Reapers put a dent in Shepard’s cause, taking Earth, Palaven, and Thessia, Tali was the first to cheer Shepard up saying that he/she has always overcome the odds and finds ways to win. She supports Shepard no matter what even if the going gets tough.

Story (Lucy)
Much like the Big 3 (Naruto, Bleach, & One Piece), Fairy Tail's story has expanded various chapters, stretching into multiple arcs, and introducing a whole lot of events. Lucy is first introduced when she suspects this one man to be part of the renowned Fairy Tail Guild. When it was found out it was a ruse, a fire mage shows up, reveals he's part of the real Fairy Tail, and does away with the imposters. From then on, Lucy has embarked on many journeys, facing powerful mages, and overcoming atrocities after atrocities. This is all thanks to the fire mage's part and she became a powerful celestial spirit mage. Initially part of a rich family, Lucy was well-loved by the maids & butlers of their Estate, but her father cared more about business and money than his own daughter. She eventually ran away from home in order to escape the reality of her father's selfish nature and from then on, everything changes when she meet the fire mage. She learns the value of friendship, establishes her identity, and pursues a lifelong commitment as a respectable mage in the renowned Fairy Tail Guild.

Personality (Tali)
Tali belongs to a race called the Quarians, a nomadic alien race, which was excommunicated away from the Citadel council and exiled from their home world after creating the Geth. Personality-wise, Tali is intelligent, possessing immense knowledge as a technician and engineer. As the daughter of head of the Admiralty Board of the Migrant Fleet, Tali has unwavering loyalty to the fleet and would be willing to sacrifice her life to ensure the survival of her people. Even though she had a weak state of mind in the first Mass Effect game and possessed a curious and innocent personality, she eventually developed into a strong and independent Quarian woman. She also possesses some sarcasm and sometimes can pull out some twisted humor on Shepard and the Normandy crew.

Personality (Lucy)
Lucy is very proud of her figure and, at the beginning, used her sexual nature to get whatever she wanted. She is very confident with her sexual appeal and that's why man man fawn over her whenever she exposes herself. Despite this, Lucy genuinely cares for friends, is kind, has a passion for literature, and is confident & determined in helping out her friends whenever they're in the heat of the battle. However, she also freaks out and her friend's antics and the most feminine of the group. Since she's a celestial spirit mage, Lucy is kind to them all and utilizes them in combat. Despite initially being part of a rich family, she cares about the wellbeing of her teammates than her own fame & fortune. That is admirable.

Appeal (Tali)
If a female alien visits Earth and possesses traits and a personality like Tali has, then yeah I would definitely try to hook up with her and show her the ways of us humans. Other than that, Tali is a classic example of “never judge a book by its cover.” A lot of us fantasize about what her face looks like with her oxygen helmet off, although there are some minor parts of the series where her real face is shown for a brief moment, but only in pictures. Despite her not showing that pretty face, her innocent, clueless personality makes up for it. Whenever she makes a careless mistake or makes a confusing perception regarding something, you just put your arm around her and say “it’s okay, no worries.” However, she is much more lovable when she gets drunk and starts spewing out some humorous stuff (emphasizing that a straw is called an “emergency induction port”)/Of all the Mass Effect female characters in my opinion, Tali, along with Ashley and Miranda possess the hottest BEEWBZ body that you just want to stare at for a while and do your best Shepard impersonation and say “report to the ship as soon as possible, we’ll bang okay?”

Appeal (Lucy)
Fairy Tail has A LOT of Fanservice and I mean A LOT of it. DAYUM, I have never seen as much Fanservice as I have with Fairy Tail. Sure, there's To-Love-Ru & Kill La Kill, but I got into Fairy Tail before those 2 and it still continues to deliver some of the best baths, nudes, & skinny-dippings I've ever seen in Anime/Manga. Now I will openly admit, Lucy isn't my favorite FT chick, but she definitely got the BEEWBz & @$$ to show for it (for those of you wondering, Erza Scarlet is my favorite FT chick). Lucy is incredibly hot, beautiful, and, like every FT chick, has exposed a whole lot of herself a lot throughout the series. Natsu is lucky to have found Lucy and that they're part of the same guild ~ a whole lotta of time with Lucy is bound to make any man happy.

Verdict (By Stillmattic)
And the winner is...
I'll be the first to say this, but I haven't gotten around to playing Mass Effect. I don't know much of the storyline and to be perfectly honest, I don't find Tali to be all that appealing. Is it because she's an Alien? No, that's not it at all. I have yet to explore the realm of Videogame girls in all shapes and forms, but for Tali ~ nope. I mean I will be the first to admit she got an @SS, but we never see her face. We can try to use our imagination to picture what her face may look like, but that can only get us so far. With Lucy from FT, there's a lot to work considering the Anime spawns 2 series, spawns 400+ chapters, and Lucy is the first female protagonist in the story. Lucy relevance in the story is the backbone behind the formation of Team Natsu. Their many adventures together are the center of the events that take place in Fairy Tail. It's because of this that Lucy has a big advantage over Tali. With Tali, I didn't get that vibe because, as I said beforehand, I don't know much about her. Lucy's character has evolved a lot too in the series ~ going from child to mature because of the many rigorous challenges she faces as a celestial spirit mage. Tali's loyalty is unquestioned, but she plays 2nd fiddle to Commander Shepard. With Lucy, I think her joining of the FT makes her a Leader of Team Natsu. She became the reason why Natsu, Gray, & Erza teamed up together. Lucy is the reason why FT has become stronger in every battle. Lucy doesn't play 2nd fiddle, but rather her influence carries a lot of gravitas on the main characters. I do apologize out there to you Mass Effect fans, but this victory goes to Lucy.

So who do you think won? Tali'Zorah nar Rayya from Mass Effect or Lucy Heartfilia from Fairy Tail? Comment below and let me know. As always, look forward to BCC 2 Matchups on Mondays, Wednesdays, & Fridays all throughout December. Until then, you all stay classy now. Videogame Babes are tied 6-6 with the Anime Cuties. Also be sure to check out MechG's blog: http://trueraiderlaker.blogspot.com/ that covers sports-themed topics on the LA Lakers & Oakland Raiders.
