Throwback #100 - The Finale!

Welcome to the final Throwback back installment where for the past 99 Throwbacks, I've shared with you moments in Bleach that are crucial to the story or just sporadic in the sense of comic relief. We've reached 100 and I got to say, it's been a bumpy @$$ road. From Bleach's humble beginnings to its nostalgic ending in the Anime, Bleach has left an overall impact on the Anime Universe. Almost receiving scrutiny from many of its fans, it doesn't necessarily mean Bleach has turned sour. The direction of where it's going may not appeal to fans, but we, as the audience, will never forget is its moments. The amount of gravitas Bleach carries alongside Naruto & One Piece has already left an overall impression that many aspiring artists can one day make an epic. Bleach, like Naruto and One Piece, are epics ~ spanning many years of action, comedy, romance, drama, and nostalgia. So it's only fitting that the last Throwback I `discuss with you is all is the big reveal ~ Isshin Kurosaki is a Shinigami. This explains many things ~ why can Ichigo, Karin, & Yuzu see & sense spirits and more importantly, why was he comfortable with Rukia sporadically moving into the Kurosaki household? Although seen as a ploy, it was in fact in good conscience that Isshin welcomed Rukia and was silently aware of his son's involvement as a Shinigami. Isshin was unable to save Masaki the day she was murdered because his Shinigami powers haven't fully returned to him. Feeling guilty, he took it upon himself to kill the very Hollow that killed her once he regained them; although this would take many years, it was still closure nonetheless. Isshin finally reappears before Aizen and Ichigo, at this point, is like "WTF, Dad is that you?" This is one of my favorite moments in Bleach because it shows the gravitas of Ichigo's Dad and you have to now think back on Ichigo's life til now ~ why was Isshin never an option for someone who possibly could be related to the supernatural? Even after Isshin spills the beans, Ichigo isn't upset. He understands that there must've been a reason why he didn't tell him in the first place and that spilling it out would only hurt them both. So he comes the realization that one day, the two will talk about it. This is a very powerful scene ~ both have matured over the course of the series and it illustrates our protagonist's growth in both body & spirit. Isshin may be perceived as a comic relief character, but at the end of the day ~ he too has a story to tell.

I hope you enjoyed the final Throwback. It's been one helluva a ride, but I'm glad you guys were there with me along the way. Look forward to new content on the blog. For now, the schedule will stay as follows:
