WBCR - The Chosen One (Grade: B)

Welcome back to another installment of WBCR posts where I review the recent Bleach chapter and give my thoughts/impressions on what happened as well as give a brief description as to occurred, whether relevant or irrelevant, in the chapter. The grading scale has notably been based on a A-F scale w/A exceeding all expectations as a chapter and F failing completely as it did not deliver. For the most recent chapters, most of them have been getting either Bs or Cs because, despite the build-up and pacing being inconsistent, it still is build-up nonetheless. This week's chapter is a B for the following reasons:

1) What initially started off as a friendship/partnership between Jugram (nicknamed Jugo) & Bazz would soon turn into jealousy & rage. as Yhwach chose Jugo over Bazz's talents as a potential member of the Sternritters Yhwach already knew of Jugo's existence and went on to explain that much like himself, Jugo's powers are distributed to him rather. There hasn't been any other Quincy that was born like that within the last 200 years. The supposed myth Bazz-B was going on about actually all along applied to Jugo's existence. Jugo can't absorb reishi and make it his own, but rather than "give" into his surroundings However, the one thing that has tipped off Bazz for the longest time is saying someone was better than him. Bazz is like the King of the Mountain and always thought of himself as someone who is more capable than Jugo. However, when Yhwach explained that Bazz only got stronger because of the influence of Jugo ~ Bazz lost it. Jugo's existence is special and to Yhwach, it should be Bazz that should be bowing to him. Bazz's supposed abilities & prowess weren't actually his own, but rather works of Jugo. Bazz retaliates and attempts to assault Yhwach, but Jugo thwarted the assassination attempt. The chapter ends with Jugo finishing off Bazz. Like I said in the beginning, what started off as a supposed friendship turned sour when Jugo was chosen over Bazz. This could've been an opportunity, but Bazz was so engrossed with rage and jealousy that he couldn't see Jugo as being the one chosen by Yhwach. I do feel bad for Bazz, but at the same time ~ how far can a friendship like this go? Overall a great set-up for two bad@$$ characters.
