WBCR - 8@D@$$ Nemu! (Grade: B)

Going back from last week's chapter, I put out 4 scenarios that could potentially start off this week's chapter. Those 4 choices were:

1) Nemu sacrifices herself to save Mayuri from danger/Backstory behind her Birth
2) Mayuri sacrifices himself to save Nemu from danger/Backstory behind her Birth
3) Mayuri saves both himself & Nemu and has plotted a contingency plan
4) Pernida is f*cked up by the combined efforts of Father & Daughter

Surprisingly I was wrong. Nobody died in this week's chapter and rather than have Mayuri Kurotsuchi save both their behinds, it was Nemu who decided to step in, disobey Mayuri's orders, and fight in his stead. Mayuri is, at this moment, pretty insulted by this, but it could also show the weight that Nemu's existence has on Mayuri. After all, Nemu is Mayuri's greatest accomplishment in terms of creation. So many efforts were in vain, but Nemu was successful and, from her humble beginnings, already was much more conscious of her purpose in being born. Mayuri has always had his eyes on the creation of life and he finally attained that dream when Nemu was born. Mayuri was in bewilderment of Nemu's strength, but Nemu has matured.....she wants to show Mayuri that she can protect his Captain & show just how much she's developed. Nemu uses a technique called Konpaku cutting at 6% titled Gikon Juurin-Juu (Righteous Spirit Heavy Ring Blaster) and does considerable damage to Pernida. This was a relatively short chapter, but I'm also diggin' Nemu's involvement in all of this. It shows the gravitas her life has and that her fulfilling purpose is serving, protecting, and obeying Mayuri is without question admirable and overbearing. Overbearing to the point that a life born from nothing can mature & develop to the point that it'll disobey a direct command and explicate that has "purpose." Mayuri may be disappointed in Nemu's decision, but I think deep down ~ he is both frightful that she's matured so much and proud that she can stand against Mayuri knowing it's to protect him. Like last week's chapter, I'm going to give it a B ~ great set-up for Nemu.
