This couple hasn't been under the radar for quite some time. Why is that? Do people consider this couple invalid? Well it was noted that this couple would surface upon their first encounter in the Soul Society. Much like Ichigo & Nelliel, Uryu & Nemu are no exception. Nemu is Mayuri's creation, aka daughter. Nemu is incredibly loyal to Mayuri, despite being only a product of Mayuri's schemes. Unlike most lieutenants, Nemu is quiet - unattached to the other Shinigami. This is why Uryu's concern for her is so, what you'd call, cute. Uryu cares for a robot, but to Mayuri - that's all who Nemu really is - a product made by Mayuri for his personal uses. However, what stood out for me on this couple were two scenes. The first is their first meeting in which Uryu fought Mayuri & Nemu gave the antidote to Uryu so that he can once again fight alongside his comrades. The genuine bond between these two, despite initially being enemies, is already there - Uryu wanted to protect Nemu, but instead - Nemu saved Uryu. And the other scene is where Nemu's BEEWBS pretty much suffocated Uryu just so Mayuri can fix up the damaged Uryu from his fight against the Espada. Not only is this fanservice, but of all people - Uryu? Heck, even Uryu & Renji blushed when Mayuri was "fixing" Nemu during their battle with the 8th espada. Now that' hilarious, but it also shows Nemu's usage to not only protect Mayuri's interest, but to Uryu as well. I find this couple cute and I hope to see them more together - former enemies turned allies (for the most part).
