Tsukihito Amanuma vs. Yukio Hans Vorarlberna (The Gaming Kids)

VS.

I believe at some point in our lives, we were all kids who loved video games and f'ing with people. It was in our nature and for the most part - it was really damn fun. Playing video games for constant hours without a care in the world and laughing at anything that we deem funny and immature. The slightest thing like farting can make kids giggle their a$$e$ off. In both Bleach & YYH, there are two characters that embody what I'd like to call - The Gaming Kids. Both kids w/a sense of imagination and trickery are the antagonists of the Chapter Black Saga & the Fullbringer Arc. Today's Matchup is between YYH's Tsukihito Amanuma & Bleach's Yukio Hans Vorarlberna. I will be comparing the following: Role in Story, Powers/Abilities, & Fight Record

Role in Story ~ Tsukihito
Tsukihito mainly played video games because he didn't have friends or was close to his parents. One day, he was challenged by Shinobu and it ended in a draw, the first time playing led to Tsukihito joining Shinobu's cause. It was Tsukihito's job to bring the game Goblin City back to life. Team Urameshi challenged Tsukihito and it finally came down to the final came, which would ultimately decide the fate of Tsukihito & Kurama. Tsukihito, from the get-go, was unaware that Shinobu was only using him. Not only what or who to believe anymore, Tsukihito loses the game and, unfortunately, dies. This not only upset Kurama, but it put a burden on him - the man who took the life of a child. However, it is revealed that he was resurrected as part of Shinobu's plan and he has a new life w/new friends.

Role in Story ~ Yukio
Yukio is the son of a businessman, but didn't much of his parents. He was shut off in a spacious room away from his parents because they rarely spoke as parents and child. Sometime later, Yukio stole from his father and ran away, only later to find out that the parents committed suicide. Later, he met the other members of Xcution and join in Ginjo's cause, playing along with Tsukishima's ability & Ginjo's plans. He helped trained Ichigo as he was new to his fullbringer abilities and would later eventually fight against him alongside his fellow Xcution members - Jackie, Riruka, & Giriko. Yukio trapped the Shinigami & the Xcution in his chatrooms and went up against Hitsugaya - only later to lose and be sparred. At the end, he is seen with Jackie, who survived at the cost of her fullbring powers being gone. He told Jackie to wait 3 years so he can raise his company and get the group together again.

Powers/Abilities ~ Tsukihito
Tsukihito's ability is referred to as Territory - meaning whatever happens to the characters in the game affects the one controlling that character. That means that if someone controlling a character in the game dies (EX: Getting killed in a Fighting or RPG game), then the player dies in real life. Not only is that ability scary as F*ck, but it allows Tsukihito to have complete control of the games being played and characters being used. In YYH, Tsukihito & Team Urameshi play arcade games to determine who'll win in the end - it's literally a eat or be eaten scenario.

Powers/Abilities ~ Yukio
Yukio's ability is known as Invaders Must Die, where he, & his handheld video game console, has the ability to transport individuals into his own dimension (sealing), cutting off their spiritual energy from the outside world (saving), create a virtual simulation (Internal Pocket Dimension), plant a tracking bug on anything, create holographic clones, & fast-world in the Internal Pocket Dimension. With Ichigo's power, his ability is referred to as Digital Radial Invaders, which allows Yukio to create digital clones, summon digital blades to attack, create a shield to protect from enemy attacks, chatrooms (battle arenas), fire digital missiles at his opponents, and summon digital monsters that are programmed in the game. He literally is in charge of a video game and it's his rules.

Fight Record ~ Tsukihito
Tsukihito only had 1 fight in YYH. His record is as follows:

Tsukihito vs. Kurama - Loss

Fight Record ~ Yukio
Yukio has had a couple of fights in Bleach. His record is as follows:

Yukio w/Riruka vs. Tsukishima - Draw
Yukio vs. Hitsugaya Toshiro - Loss

Verdict
And the winner is...
I think these two character's past were pretty tragic. One was unloved and the other didn't know of love. So which one did I give it to - the one who didn't know of love. Yukio unfortunately was selfish and is the reason why his parents committed suicide, but in the end- he cared more about power and wealth. Tsukihito, in the end, lived a new life playing video games and having friends, but with Yukio - you never knew if he had friends before meeting the members of Xcution. Much of his meeting with Ginjo isn't really emphasized, but we do know that his upbringing was a cold one - being shut in, not knowing of love, and eventually resorting to stealing and running off on his own. I felt more bad for Tsukihito when he died, but he was resurrected. With Yukio, little did change and to be honest, that's why he won. Yukio's history isn't much, but it shapes who he was - a power hungry child who thrived on wealth for happiness. It seemed like Tsukihito was content with video games and that's it, but I do feel bad he was unaware of being used by Shinobu. I felt more bad for Yukio because, in the end, he never did move on and what drives him isn't the friends he met or meeting Ichigo, it was thriving on his riches. Tsukihito changed, but Yukio has yet to. As I said, the more mysterious a character is - the more engaging and interesting he can be. That is why I gave this one to Yukio.

  1. It's most likely yukio was going to win since he has the ability to BFR anyone into his device or wherever he wants to put them.
