Yakumo vs. Baraggan Louisenbairn (The Kings of their Domain)

VS.

The two Kings of Hueco Mundo & the Nether-realm finally clash in Monday's BH post. In both respects, these two are powerful warriors - encompassing and embodying evil. I find it ironic that one was rebelled against (Sousuke Aizen) and the other rebelled (against Spirit World & loss). These two relics are the primary antagonists (one in the Fake Karakura Town Arc and the other in the YYH movie). Having enormous powers, followers by their side, and pose a threat to Yusuke/Sui-Feng, Baraggan & Yakumo truly are the Kings of their Domain. It's a classic fight of King vs. King - Baraggan Louisenbairn from Bleach and Yakumo from YYH Movie: Poltergeist Report. I will be comparing the following: Role in Story, Powers/Abilities, & Fight Record

Role in Story ~ Yakumo
Yakumo, a long time ago, rebelled against the Spirit World in control of Human World. However, despite being King of the Nether-Realm, he lost and was banished into the void of space. Later on, the Nether-Realm creates a unbalance between the Human & Spirit world, indicating that Yakumo & his forces are ready to start a full-scale war for complete control once more. Botan, the key to all of his, is the damsel in distress during the movie and the Yakumo's real intention is to gain back the Power Sphere, the source of Nether-Realm's power. Yakumo, having control of the sphere, battles against Team Urameshi only later to succumb to defeat as Team Urameshi bands together for 1 last attack. He never was truly killed, but the source of his power is forever gone.

Role in Story ~ Baraggan
Baraggan was once the King of Hueco Mundo up until he met Sousuke Aizen. Bored with the Kingly rule of doing absolutely nothing but entertaining himself, he finds amusement and absurdity in Aizen's plan. Aizen & his subordinates kill all of Baraggan's followers and take him to be the 2nd Espada under Aizen's tutelage. Baraggan was first seen when Ichigo, Uryu, & Chad first entered into Hueco Mundo, but truly makes his real appearance as one of the 3 Espada fighting against the Gotei 13 in the Fake Karakura Town Arc. His aspect of Death (as with every Espada) in Age/Time and he fights against Sui-Feng, Omaeda, & Hachigen only later to succumb to his own power. Before withering away, he tries one last attempt to kill Sousuke Aizen - the man who took away his power and ambitions.

Powers/Abilities ~ Yakumo
Yakumo is a powerful King as as such, as sovereignty over demons ~ being able to manipulate them to do his bidding and even summoning them as his own personal vanguard. He is also capable of telekinesis, moving various objects as either shields or weapons. His true power stems from the Power Sphere, amplifying his power as he was, at first, able to be a formidable foe against Team Urameshi. When fighting, he can create a shield to deflect/block attacks as well as fire energy palm blasts which inflicted damage on Yusuke.

Powers/Abilities ~ Baraggan
Baraggan, as the 2nd Espada, embodies the Aging aspect of Death. This means his power stems from aging (time) - being able to slow down Sui-Feng's attacks before reaching. Being King of Hueco Mundo & the 2nd Espada under Aizen's army, he possesses incredible spiritual power, keen intellect, dilate time around him, and, as an Arrancar, is proficient in Sonido. His Zanpaktou, Arrogante, allows Baraggan to take on the form of a skull-like figure w/a crown & purple cloak. His true power allows him to turn and rot anything with his Respira (Breath of Death) and wields Gran Caida (Axe of Ruin) ~ his primary weapon aside from his Respira.

Fight Record ~ Yakumo
Yakumo was the primary antagonist in the YYH Movie: Poltergeist Report and is strictly a movie-based character. His record is as follows:

Yakumo vs. Team Urameshi - Loss

Fight Record ~ Baraggan
Baraggan was a primary antagonist in the Fake Karakura Town Arc in Bleach alongside Starrk & Harribel. His record is as follows:

Baraggan Louisenbairn vs. Sui-Feng, Omaeda, & Hachigen - Loss

Verdict
And the winner is...
Despite Yakumo being a movie-based villain, he was weak in comparison to Baraggan. Baraggan's power as the 2nd Espada is renowned throughout all the Arrancars whereas Yakumo, from the get-go, lost despite being a King himself. Yakumo offered very little - manipulation, telekinesis, summoning, & energy palm. Baraggan, as King, controlled the aspect of time - completely having vast control of dilating time around him, rotting life just about anywhere, and wielding his Axe to cast judgment on those who oppress him. Baraggan had more of role whereas Yakumo, like I said, is strictly in the YYH movie. He lost at the hands of Team Urameshi quite easily in my opinion, but it took time to defeat Baraggan. And one of the deciding factors - Yakumo is alive and weak & Baraggan is dead, but tried to put up a fight against Aizen. Baraggan's death took me by surprise as he was killed by his own power and, to me, that is ironic since he too was afraid of aging. As a King, his power is without question fearsome, but it doesn't change the fact that Baraggan offered more as a likable, badass, and formidable villain. Baraggan is the true King of Kings.
