BCC 2 Match #9 ~ Kasumi vs. Sakura Haruno (Dead or Alive/Ninja Gaiden vs. Naruto) ~ Kunoichi Fight 2

Welcome back to another installment of BCC 2 with featured collaboration from my best friend & author of the Trueraiderlaker blog,  MechG. BCC 2 is pitting the best of the best when it comes to Videogames & Anime. The emphasis on BCC (Big-BEEWBED Catfight) is on the lovely ladies from each franchise, judging their story, personality, and appeal as the basis of the subject matter as well deciding on the consensus on whose the better woman in our personal opinion. So far, the Videogame Babes are still leading 5-3 against the Anime Cuties. I judged last week's posts, but this week MechG will take over in deciding the consensus. Today's Matchup is a continuation of Wednesday's post ~ Kunoichi 2: Kasumi (Dead or Alive/Ninja Gaiden) vs. Sakura Haruno (Naruto). Let's jam!

Story (Kasumi)

Born into the Mugen Tenshin clan, Kasumi was raised by Ayame and the clan leader, Shiden. She was the 2^nd child in the family with Hayate being the oldest, thus making her second-in-line as the heir apparent.  When she was a child, Kasumi encountered Ayane as they played with each other, although the clan didn’t approve it because Ayane was deemed a “cursed child.” Once Ayane figured out about her dark past, the friendship Kasumi made with Ayane became strained, causing animosity and jealousy from Ayane to Kasumi. When her uncle, Raidou, Ayane’s biological father, returned to the village, he injured Hayate. With Hayate unable to perform the duty as the head, that made Kasumi the head of the Mugen Tenshin clan. However, Kasumi wanted to avenge Hayate by defeating Raidou, thus breaking the rules and being a runaway kunoichi. Kasumi was challenged by Ayane in the first DOA tournament as Ayane was sent by Genra to kill her. Kasumi eventually won and got the privilege of facing Raidou. After the first tournament, she was kidnapped by DOATEC and taken in for experiments. Since then, she’s still on the run from her clan, but has re-established family bonds with Hayate and Ayane.

Story (Sakura)

Prior to Sakura meeting Team 7 (Naruto, Sasuke, & Kakashi), Sakura was bullied in her childhood due to having a large forehead. She was sensitive in getting teased that it only fueled her anger, but Ino aided her and helped Sakura get over her insecurity. However, despite Ino being her best friend, she was also a rival since both had a crush on Sasuke. Sakura, alongside Team 7, embarked on various missions ~ stopping foes like Zabuza, the Akatsuki, and ultimately stopping Kaguya. Sakura was seen as a mere side character in the beginning, but after learning everything she needed to know from then Hokage, Tsunade, she grew more physically stronger & learned to channel her Chakra more efficiently than before. She also became a highly skilled medical Ninja and was able to help out a lot during the war. The biggest involvement Sakura had in the story was when Sasuke betrayed Konoha and Naruto, alongside everyone else, tried everything in their power to find Sasuke and bring him back. Sakura's feelings for Sasuke never went away and she wanted to save him so bad that she'd do anything. She confessed to Naruto as a gimmick for him to stop going after Sasuke so she can go save him herself, but Naruto suspected foul play from the get-go. Sakura's determination is unshaken whenever Sasuke's involved. 

Personality (Kasumi)

Kasumi is a highly skilled kunoichi, capable of killing in cold blooded, but she’s more about being compassionate. She is just too nice and so innocent; she just wants to avoid conflict. She has an open mind and is not afraid to speak up what she believes in. Kasumi is an emotional, honest, helpful, and intelligent girl and caring and when there is no indication of blue skies or when things go awry (I sound like a broken record saying this), Kasumi does her to keep upbeat and stay positive. She develops her personality more as the DOA series progresses as she starts maturing and becomes a strong-willed woman and she develops her will to fight when there’s no other alternative (there we go, that’s the spirit). She is also family oriented as she just wants to return home with some peace and quiet (I’m pretty sure Guile taught her to go home and be a family woman).

Personality (Sakura)

When Naruto, Sasuke, & Sakura were kids ~ Sakura often had what you'd call a "Inner-Sakura," that judged and criticized everything around her that she didn't like. When Sasuke was getting hit on by Ino, the Inner Sakura was pissed whereas Sakura tried to keep a straight face. After the timeskip, Sakura matured a lot ~ training herself physically to thwart off her enemies, practicing medicine in order to heal the wounded, and becoming more confident and outspoken as a Kunoichi. Her resolve also improved as she was willing to do anything to save Sasuke despite his previous actions. Sakura is also depicted as kind and generous in the timeskip where before, she was more self-centered and insecure. 

Appeal (Kasumi)

Like I said before, Kasumi, along with Ayane headline the hot and sexy roster of the DOA female fighters. When I look at Kasumi, you can’t take your eyes off her trademark blue kunoichi outfit with her cleavage showing. Not to mention, she wears the hottest swimsuits and alternate costumes. Whether her hair is down, pony-tailed, pig-tailed, doesn’t matter, she’s a cute and pretty face either way for an orange-haired girl. I just recently looked at her DOA 5 concept art and let me say this: she is so pretty and so goddamn B-E-A-U-T-I-F-U-L, very fitting for a “princess.” Her alternate leather ninja outfit tho, “Fetish City” for me.

Appeal (Sakura)

When I first saw Sakura with long hair, I thought she was cute, but I wouldn't go so far as to call her extremely hot. After the timeskip & short hair, my opinion of her hasn't really changed. All I can truthfully say is that she got cuter, has grown much more mature, & is more capable of fending for herself. Sakura may be the main female protagonist, but I always found the other Naruto heroines to be hotter. Hinata, Temari, Tsunade, & Anko (before she got fat) are a lot hotter than Sakura. So for me anyways ~ Sakura is a cute girl whose lucky to have had her crush, Sasuke, wed her and have 2 kids. She was cute enough for Naruto to want her, but Naruto in the end went for the hotter and cuter Hinata Hyuga. 

Verdict (By MechG)

And the winner is...

Again, since I’m not familiar with the Naruto story arc, I am not going to factor that in the verdict. Like I said in the Ayane verdict, who in their right mind would prefer any girl from any other franchise than the girls in the DOA series? You gotta be insane to do that. If you’re a person who doesn’t judge just on looks, that’s understandable. But, obviously Kasumi is a hella a lot more appealing than Sakura, from the BEEWBZ to the pretty face to the overall body to the outfit, etc.. Who wouldn’t? In terms of personality, I saw that Sakura was insecure since she had an incredibly large forehead (Peyton Manning-esque) and was all caught up with her appearance and she obviously matured as the story goes on. However, Kasumi has been matured from the get-go and it has to do with being the 2^nd heir apparent to the Mugen Tenshin clan next to Hayate. I’d go with a girl who has what Kasumi has in terms of personality: compassion, innocence, smart, helpfulness, family-oriented. I don’t think I’d handle a girl’s personality like Sakura’s early on in the Naruto story arc, but that’s just me. Sorry Naruto fans.
