Bleach Fantasy II Round 12: Riruka Dokugamine vs. Ultimecia

Welcome back to another installment of Bleach Fantasy II where MechG & I once again collaborate on pitting the world of Bleach & the various installments of the Final Fantasy franchise. On Monday, FF snatched another victory against Bleach (FF still leads 7-4 against Bleach), but many things can happen. Like MechG said, Bleach Fantasy II posts will be on Mondays, Wednesdays, & Fridays. My daily schedule of Affinity, Watch-list, WBCR, & Throwback posts will be the same as always (if delayed, posts will be on weekends). Without further ado, let's get started on Bleach Fantasy II Round 12 ~ Riruka Dokugamine vs. Ultimecia. Take into account that Storyline and Powers/Abilities are the deciding factors. MechG & I will switch-off ever 3 rounds in giving the verdict. Let's jam!

Storyline (Riruka)
At the age of 5-6, Riruka discovered that she had Fullbring powers and at 7, she fell in love for the first time. However, the problem with this love was that he was an adult & she was only a kid. Her Fullbring allowed her to make anything cute hers. She locked the man away and fed with sweets, but it one was one-sided affinity ~ Riruka had feelings for the man, but the man was terrified. She knew clinging to him wasn't going to make him fall for her, so she let him go. Afterwards, she resorted to bullying her Sister Gina as a means of an end ~ self-gratification. Sometime later, she met the other members of Xcution and made a pact to with its leader, Ginjo Kugo. She, alongside Giriko, show up out of the blue to see Ginjo's meeting with Ichigo on his recruitment & gaining his own set of Fullbring powers. When Ichigo was first invited to Xcution's hideout, Riruka fell head over heels for Ichigo, going so far as to blurt out that he was cute. Riruka would assist in Ichigo's training by using her Fullbring powers to allow Ichigo to fight a stuffed doll (Ichigo shrank in size). Sometime later, Ginjo & Tsukishima's "plan" was affecting all of its Xcution members and suddenly it was debatable on whose side was on whom. It was also at this time Riruka met Orihime and tried aiding in Ichigo's training. At this point, Ichigo's friends & Xcution were against Ichigo up until allies came in and fought Ginjo & the others. Riruka was going up against Rukia, but before supposedly having the upper hand, she remarked that Ichigo changed their lives and stood before Tsukishima before he could kill Ichigo. Riruka survived Tsukishima's attack and later went off somewhere else. She reappears alongside Yukio in aiding Ichigo & the remaining Gotei 13 against Yhwach.

Storyline (Ultimecia)
In the distant future, the sorceress Ultimecia stands as the sole ruler of her world. Knowing that her demise at the hands of SeeD is predetermined, Ultimecia sought to bring about the power of time compression to make herself a “living god,” controlling the essence of time, space, and existence to escape her inevitable fate. Using the Junction Machine Ellone, Ultimecia sends her consciousness back in time, possessing a fellow sorceress, Edea. Her main motive was to find Ellone and use her natural ability to send people’s consciousness through time in order to go farther back and cast time compression. Using Edea’s body, Ultimecia infiltrated the Galbadian government and was appointed as ambassador by President Vinzer Deling via a live TV broadcast. The event would be interrupted when Seifer, a rouge SeeD cadet took Deling hostage. Ultimecia would cast her teleportation spell on Seifer and manipulated to him to serve under her cause. When the rest of SeeD approached her, Ultimecia paralyzed them and helped teleport Seifer away from Galbadia. From there, Ultimecia turned Seifer into her personal Sorceress Knight. With Ultimecia continually possessing Edea’s body, Rinoa Heartily, the daughter of Fury Caraway, tried to trick her to wear the Odine Bangle to seal her sorceress powers in order to carry out the assassination plan. Ultimecia noticed this and takes control of Rinoa’s body. Ascending to the balcony of the Presidential Palace, Ultimecia casts a fascination spell to drive the crowd into a reverent frenzy. She then impales Deling from behind and uses Rinoa as a sacrifice by summoning two Iguion statues to devour her, which would be foiled by Squall and the rest of SeeD. While passing through the Arch of Triumph, Ultimecia fell into an attempted assassination trap by Irvine, but she was able to cast a protection spell to deflect the bullet from Irvine’s long distant shot. She would confront Squall, Rinoa, and Irvine head on before she could dispatch them and hold them prisoned. Ultimecia then orders Seifer to extract information from them via torture. As Galbadia’s new ruler, Ultimecia then orders missile attacks on both the Balamb and Trabia Gardens. Only Trabia Garden was destroyed. Possessing full control of the Galbadia Garden and seeking to find Ellone, Ultimecia ordered an attack on the Balamb Garden in the Battle of the Gardens. Ultimecia would confront Squall and the rest of SeeD again after they repelled Galbadia’s attack and she would eventually be bested in battle, relinquishing control of Edea’s body. However, Ultimecia would take control of Rinoa’s body as Edea’s sorceress powers transferred to her and uses her to revive a defeated Seifer. Ultimecia would continually have Rinoa’s body under her control even after Rinoa awoke from comatose. She used Rinoa to revive the powerful sorceress, Adel in the Lunar Base and left Rinoa to die while drifting into space. After Adel was defeated and her sorceress powers transferred to Rinoa, Ultimecia grabs possession of her body again, allowing Ellone to send both their consciousness into the past. As Ultimecia was about to cast time compression, Ellone would foil her plan by sending both Ultimecia and Rinoa back into their respective eras, setting up Squall and the party to enter Ultimecia’s era. While SeeD battled, Ultimecia managed to summon the most powerful Guardian Force, Griever from Squall’s mind. She would then junction herself to Griever to amplify his power; however Griever’s body would eventually be destroyed. Ultimecia unveils her final form and processes the absorption of time and space. Despite this, Ultimecia would not escape her fate as the strong links that bind Squall and his friends protect them from time compression. As time decompresses, damaging Ultimecia, she travels back into Edea’s Orphanage of the past, transferring her sorceress powers to Edea, signaling her demise.

Powers/Abilities (Riruka)
Riruka's Fullbring is titled "Dollhouse." This allows her to move people/objects freely in or out of anything that she finds cute & adorable. By doing this, she launches a little "R" lettered symbol, giving that person/object permission to move in or out because she found it cute. In "permitting" it, the person/object is shrunk and placed within the Dollhouse. Once the Dollhouse is damaged or destroyed, then the person/object is turned into normal size. She also possesses a Love Gun that can pretty much fire miniature objects that increase in size. Riruka also can take control of people as shown when she took over Rukia ~ she took over her body & Rukia was unaware that she was inside of her....literally.

Powers/Abilities (Ultimecia)
Most of Ultimecia’s abilities emphasize on the manipulation of time and space, making her a very powerful sorceress. Ultimecia is able to manifest and give life to subconscious thoughts and inanimate objects. This was proven when she brought two Iguion statues to life to devour Rinoa as a sacrifice and bringing Griever to life from Squall’s subconscious mind and making it the most powerful Guardian Force. Through the ability to compress time, Ultimecia can be able to control and manipulate an individual’s mind and body, internally and externally, which makes her even more dangerous and with the use of the Junction Machine Ellone, she is able to traverse through different time periods. She can reach a person’s mind and give life to thoughts, knowledge, and magic and her ability to manipulate objects and matter has led to unique junction forms such as her junction with Griever. She is fought in three forms and fought a total of six times: twice in possession of Edea’s body and mind, once in possession of Adel’s body and mind, in her regular form, in Griever form once she junctions herself with Griever, and in her final form in which she is in the process of absorbing all of time, space, and existence. When a party member has fallen in battle, Ultimecia is able to absorb him/her into time. When Ultimecia was able to possess Edea’s body, she was able to cast the abilities of teleportation, telekinesis, and fascination spells and she’s able to create barriers to repel projectile attacks and is able to phase through solid matter. Aside from space-time manipulation, Ultimecia is able to cast powerful non-elemental spells such as Quake, Meteor, Ultima, Holy, Flare, and Apocalypse and she is capable of casting Dispel (disabling all stat buffers). Her ultimate attack is Hell’s Judgement in which she unleashes a powerful non-elemental blast from the ground that puts all party members in sight at near death.

Verdict
And the winner is...
At the end of the day, I think we all knew who was gonna reign victor for this Round. A great evil that manipulates time & space versus a girl who admires cute things....wonder how this matchup will end up. Story-wise, Bleach's Riruka didn't really offer much. Abilities wise, it didn't impress either. With Ultimecia, her role in FF VII and her powers/abilities can outmatch Riruka anywhere, anytime, and anyday. I'm sorry the verdict was so short, but it really is one-sided. I'm not going to try and justify whether or nor Riruka has a chance because, well, she doesn't. Her story is childish and her abilities aren't as fleshed out as you'd think. She can shrink sh*t, make sh*t look cute, and go inside people. The only interesting aspect of hers is that she can move objects in or out of anything ~ which is beneficial for Team Ichigo to fight the Wandenreich. However, if that's all she is capable of, then that isn't much. Ultimecia dominates in all fields. The Sorceress wins against the Fullbringer.

So who do you think won this matchup? Riruka Dokugamine from Bleach or Ultimecia from Final Fantasy VIII? Comment below and let us know. Reiterating again, Bleach Fantasy Round II posts will be on Mondays, Wednesdays, & Fridays w/MechG & I interchanging every 3rd matchups on giving the verdict. Bleach Fantasy Round II standings (8-4):
