RBT #40 - Mr. Pork (RBT Finale)

I said a couple of weeks ago that the RBT posts that are on Thursdays will be replaced w/a new segment called Rhetorical(s) that'll give my input/impression on the various Anime that I've come to either watch/read. Without further ado, I would like to thank you all for following me on the Random moments in Bleach. This segment didn't have much to offer in comparison to the other posts and that was why I decided I'd replace it with a new segment. Today's final RBT is Mr. Pork during the Full-bringer Arc in Bleach. Not only did I find his character completely irrelevant, but I wasn't what you'd call the biggest fan of the Full-bringer Arc. Sure, some of the guys from that arc will reappear in the War, but to go from defeating a God-like being to thwarting the former Death God representative is quite weak. Besides, the "twist" on who was the actual bad guy in Bleach was predictable and I found his character lacking in comparison to other Bleach antagonists. Mr. Pork was brought up for training Ichigo and was placed inside Riruka's dollhouse so that the two may spar/survive. Mr. Pork doesn't sound like a Bleach character, but rather it sounds like something you'd hear in Muppet Pals or Sesame Street....but Bleach? Ichigo eventually trained his @$$ off and guess what, we never see Mr. Pork again. Like most of Bleach's characters, they often appear more than once since they help progress a story. With Mr. Pork, nope he's gone and we'll never know what happened to him. Does that mean his character was just a training exercise and that's it? Even other Bleach characters that have gone through training exercises one way or another came out to be friends (EX: Kisuke & Yoruichi, Ichigo & Renji, etc). Mr. Pork was expendable and that's why I found his character to be Random.

I hope you all enjoyed the final RBT. The randomness is Bleach is here and there, but if you ever want to look for sporadic moments in Bleach, more power to you. Look forward to the new segment titled Rhetorical(s) next Thursday. Until then, you all stay classy now. I will post BCC post & WBCR tomorrow.
