Stillmattic Thoughts: Naruto Series Finale

It's been a week since Masashi Kishimoto's 15 year old renowned series titled Naruto came to an end and, of course, audiences are split by the finale. Some say it was a good farewell while others feel bittersweet as some questions are left unanswered. For me, I enjoyed Naruto for the most part, but, with most series, it has its fair share of imperfections. As I read it weekly, the cliche factor came into fruition and my interest started deteriorating. I knew from get-go it was going to be an all-out brawl between Naruto & Sasuke, but I was even more correct that Naruto will end up with Hinata, Sasuke with Sakura, Shikamaru with Temari, & Ino with Sai. Choji & Karui is random as f*ck and seeing Kurenai & Asuma's daughter as a grown up is perfectly fit for the canon of the time-skip. The fact that Naruto & Sasuke are alive meant that friendship can flourish amongst that of isolation ~ that, my friends, is cliche 101 ~ Friendship endures all. Even though no one tolerated Sakura, the fact that Sakura made up with him bugged me, but at the same time it shows a level of desperation for Sakura since she is obsessed with Sasuke instead of Naruto. Hinata and Naruto's pairing was obvious, but we knew Naruto had a thing for Sakura and was unaware of Hinata's feelings for him. After Obito, the series began deteriorating even more and the cliches just kept coming. Here were some I noticed:

1) "Becoming stronger, but wound up getting my @$$ kicked."
2) "Friendship endures all trials & tribulations."
3) "Change can empower a person's very core."
4) "The Going from Good to Bad to Good to Bad Scenario."
5) "IT....IS...DESTINY."
6) "The gratification of one's self from unpopular to popular."
7) The past redefines one's path towards success or failure."

See, those are 7 deadly cliches that I've noticed: Arrogance, Friendship, Change, Hypocrite, Destiny, Popularity, & Past. The problem is that it was heavily noticeable in the series, but no changes were made. It just continued from then on ~ one bad guy dying and another resurfacing. To me, the end was to tie up loose ends, but it still doesn't answer some questions:

1) What happend to Kabuto & Orochimaru?
2) What of Karin's obsession with Sasuke?
3) Why did Anko get fat after the timeskip?
4) Why is Sasuke never seen with his Wife & Daughter?
5) Why did we never see a Naruto & Hinata Kiss Moment?
6) Why Choji & Karui?

To me, authors whose ideas flourished in the beginning seem to dive right into the cliche sea where many creatures known as repeats are bound to be plentiful when going fishing. These repeats are hooked in and when seeing it up close, you've seen it many times before. Rarely do they let it back into the sea...they wound up eating that repeat and digesting it until it comes out as being the overall cycle of things ~ sh*t. Even I will admit Bleach has had its fair share of cliches. Though the ending was to illustrate the couples and how peace and prosperity have nurtured into the world, it left out some things (imperfections) that audience members have come to point out. Overall, it was an average (not great) ending and I've been informed their may be a spin-off...which is also a cliche.

So what did you think of the finale for Naruto? Comment below and let me know. The WBCR will be up when chapter and myself are available. Legacy post will be up tomorrow. Weekly Throwback will be this Friday. Until then, you all stay classy now.
