I do apologize that I was unable to post yesterday. Like I previously said, if the post is late, it'll be uploaded the next day. Without further ado, let's dive into the 26th Legacy post. In the previous 2 Legacy posts, I discussed Pokemon & Yu-Gi-Oh, 2 respected and nostalgic Anime(s) based off fighting monsters, duels, and kids. Today, we talk about Digimon (or Digital Monsters). What's this Anime about? Well, it's quite self-explanatory. A bunch of kids are in charge of these beast-like creatures that fight other beast-like creatures to protect the world from evil. Easy, am I right? Spawning 54 episodes from 1999-2000, Digimon was a pretty entertaining Anime. You couldn't help but want to follow these kids on their adventures and see just how strong their Digimon will get. They combat evil and, with most Anime, delve into the cliche of "protecting the worlds from facing extermination." When I was a kid, I enjoyed this Anime and watching it now, I gotta say ~ it still holds up despite its cheesiness. Yes, if you grew up watching Pokemon, Yu-Gi-Oh, or Digimon, the dialogue and scenarios in it are beyond cheesy. The thought of it makes me want to face palm because by saying that, many of us who grew up with this Anime can relate that nowadays, it's mildly entertaining, but it isn't without it's fair share of cheesy over-the-top moments. Digimon, much like Pokemon, spawned into a franchise with a new set of kids, new Digimon, and new threats. What didn't change? The dialogue of course. Overall, it's a nostalgic Anime that us 90s kids will always remember and who wouldn't want a little beast-like creatures firing fire or breathing ice? Well, as long as they don't turn evil, then I'm sure things will be fine…I hope (LOL).
I hope you enjoyed this week's Legacy post. I do apologize again that it was posted on Friday (12:30pm here in CA) rather than yesterday (Thursday). WBCR, Throwback, & SGABR #3 will be up later. Legacy posts will normally be posted on Thursday(s). Until then, you all stay classy now.
