Throwback #8 - Grudge Match (Kenpachi vs. Maki)

Exclusive fight in Bleach, Maki Ichinose once served under the 11th division up until Kenpachi Zaraki killed his previous captain. Now this is non-canon whatsoever because the previous 11th division captain, Kiganjo Kenpachi, was said to be a lazy captain and easily was defeated by Zaraki. However, in the Bount Arc, Maki Ichinose said that his captain was loyal, kind, and dutiful - does Kiganjo fit that description? Now it is said that he did serve under Kiganjo despite the fact that Kiganjo is Canon to the story arc and Maki is only Anime-exclusive character (Bleach Wiki). He bears a strong grudge against Kenpachi Zaraki for killing his previous captain. He joined Jin Kariya and the rest of the Bounts in order to destroy the Soul Society. Now this is one of the earlier episodes of the Bleach filler arc (Bount arc), so I consider it a throwback. This marks Kenpachi's 2nd fight with someone in his division (the other being Ikkaku) and I firmly believe out of all the fights that Kenpachi has had, this is by far the weakest.

I'm not gonna lie, Maki's Zanpaktou abilities were unique in some aspects (with the light and all), but weren't able to even become much of a threat for Kenpachi. I mean Kenpachi fights are epic, bloody, and a good time to watch (Ex: Kenpachi vs Ichigo). This battle, I thought, Maki was gonna lose the entire time, but the audience is firmly rooted into believing he could pose a threat to Kenpachi. I mean you can cut him multiple times, but if he's standing - then that's just how badass Kenpachi is and how much a person's sword isn't doing much in terms of damage. I don't hate Maki at all, I just didn't find his fight against Kenpachi all that entertaining. Some may argue or disagree, but I stand by my word. And it didn't help the fact that Kenpachi didn't kill Maki (although it looked like he did), but Jin, Maki's own master, killed him. Kenpachi at the utmost respect in Maki's abilities at the end and even gave him a speech, something that Maki couldn't see Zaraki doing. A cold-blooded killer gives a speech on how to live and foster one's life as a Shinigami - that's unheard of. Maki mustered all the strength he had and as you guessed it, lost to Kenpachi. In the end, they had their grudge match, decisive winner and all, and Maki was killed by Jin Kariya. Its a filler arc episode, but nonetheless, I will stand by and say it is the weakest Kenpachi Zaraki fight (that excludes the 1 sec match with Giriko).

Now that I went on about that, I may reconsider looking back at the Bount arc and re-watching it, but it still won't change my opinion on the fight. I didn't elaborate much on Maki's abilities because I honestly didn't feel like going in depth on that, but I still stand by when I said his abilities are unique. I wasn't a big fan of the Bount arc, but that won't stop me from re-watching it again. After all, it's Bleach and with any Bleach moment, there's always a hint of badassery - even in filler Arcs. Bleach Segment Fridays (#5) - The Cladded in White Successor

As you know, this week's Bleach Segment will have to be Uryu for one reason - he is announced Juha Bach's successor. That's some big shoes to fill, but are the Vandrenreich convinced? Nope, not yet at least. We all know Uryu is a badass from the moment he crossed eyes with Ichigo to his arrows blazing the sky. Uryu has been alongisde Ichigo from the beginning (as in the first major story arc), but at first, Uryu was an enemy and a jerk to Ichigo's eyes. Flash forward later and he, alongside Ichigo, Orihime, and Chad go and rescue Rukia from execution and eventually Aizen's schemes. Uryu, cladded in white (picture) shows how powerful, badass, and probably how threatening he's become if Juha Bach enlists him as his successor. So it brings the question, Is Uryu Ishida an enemy or ally of Ichigo? From the looks of it, the Vandenreich are unconvinced and I think Ichigo and the rest are unaware of Uryu's meeting with Juha Bach. I mean we don't necessarily know how Uryu and Juha Bach met, but we all know if it's with a Quincy, they were bound to meet - it's fate that brought them together, but will Uryu's pride as a Quincy destroy his friendship with Ichigo or does he perhaps have some sort of trick up his sleeve? Anyways, that concludes this week's Bleach segment. Uryu has some shoes to fill, but it's the more merrier knowing that questions will hopefully be answered in the latest Bleach chapter. Updates on Blog (New Segments)

Ladies and Gentlemen, as you are well aware I made a big announcement the other day that I would be adding a new segment on Thursdays called Recollections, an in-depth review on the Bleach animated series from episode 1-end. I will be reviewing 2 episodes per Thursday w/pictures. It has come to my attention that I said I would be adding 2 other segments for Tuesdays and Saturdays and I think I got the idea.

Tuesdays, I will be discussing Bleach Couples (friendships & relationships) because there's a lot to cover with "Twosome" characters (Ichihime & Ichiruki to name a few). This segment will be called Twosome Tuesdays (or Affinity perhaps)

Saturday, I will be discussing the Bleach music (the background, intros, endings, movie songs). Because with great shows, there's great composers. Shiro Sagisu's music in Bleach has had a great impact on the overall tone and atmosphere of Bleach. This segment will be called Death God's Bebop

WBCR - The successor is.... (Grade A)

So this week's chapter is strictly fixated on Juha Bach and his Stern Ritters. The Big Big news that many have wondered about last week's chapter is this, Uryu Ishida is the successor to Juha Bach & The Vandenreich. Not only did this come to a surprise to the Vandereich, but Uryu is considered a "noob" to the Vandreich and him standing on the same ground as Juha Bach was just a lot to taken in. This, however, didn't bode well for one Stern Ritter who went by the name and letter Bazz-B "H." This mohawk looking guy seems to be causing trouble as he completely is unconvinced that Uryu should be the successor. IF anything, it should've been Jugram Haschwalth (designated letter "B"), but Jugram doesn't wish to question Juha Bach or his intentions on choosing Uryu. In fact, Bazz-B created the conflict in this chapter. He doesn't for one second believe Uryu should be on equal grounds with Juha Bach because he is a stranger to the Stern Ritters. Uryu is without question a strong Quincy, but where his power is compared to Juha Bach is questionable. I did say before that Uryu & Ichigo are on par with another, but is Uryu stronger than the other Stern Ritter? So Bazz-B throws a tantrum, tells Juha Bach to reconsider, and looks as if he were about to start a fight with Jugram. However, the fight comes to a halt when a fellow Stern Ritter by the name Askin Nakk Le Vaar (designated letter "D") stopped the fighting from getting out of hand. Bazz-B is pissed, saying that he's calm and all doesn't bode well if Juha Bach were to catch Bazz-B. His actions would be inexcusable and Bazz-B would've been done for. However, with Askin stoppin' the fight, there's something that caught my eye. Askin refers to Jugram as "Next King." Askin said (referring to Jugram) - "You especially, you'll become nothing more than 'poison.'" So what does that mean? Juha Bach is emperior, Uryu gets designated letter "A," and Jugram is referred to as "Next King." Does that mean Uryu is Stern Ritter "A" and Jugram will become the next King or the opposite or.....what does it mean!? Anyways, this leaves a question on Uryu's intentions and Jugram's character, the girly looking man whose always beside Juha Bach. A cliff ladder, but nonetheless, a great developmental chapter on the Stern Ritters & the newly appointed successor, Uryu and the mysterious "Next King" position of Jugram.

By the way, did you ever catch on to these names? Forgot the letters for a second, check out the unique names:

2) BG9 "K"
3) Cang Du "I"
4) Bazz-B "H"

Each designated with a letter, does that mean A-Z is from strongest to weakest? Is it order of rank? Birth? Age? I want more clarification on the letter designation, but I say that this chapter was pretty good and a good start on setting up the brawl with both sides putting their lives on the line. Trust issues aside, where will Uryu go? Good or Bad? Jugram? Is he the next King? Bazz-B, will he give in to this newfound news about Uryu? And the other Stern Ritter, what do they believe? All we know is that we need more explanation since Bazz-B and the other 3 Stern Ritters (mentioned above) are just as confused as Bazz-B is. Orihime's Backstory + News on Blog

So as you know yesterday I posted the Orihime vs. Lala battle and I clearly said Orihime was the victor. What I, HOWEVER, didn't touch upon was Orihime's backstory. I do admit I somewhat forgot her past, but then it hit me. I do apologize if I didn't touch upon Orihime's past as much. So her story goes that she was raised by a drunken father and a prostitute mother. Living in these conditions became incredibly difficult and so Orihime and her brother, Sora, ran from home in order to live their life away from their deadbeat parents - thus becoming Orihime's guardian (father/brother figure). For years, she and her brother lived peacefully away from their terrible folks, but Orihime wasn't out of the woods yet. She was bullied for the color of her hair at school and to top it off, she refused to wear hairpins that her brother got for her. This then puts some burden on Orihime's part because this was an argument between the two siblings -  the hairpins became a constant reminder of that day and so she continued to wear them. She began to pray for him up until she started talking to Ichigo. This was how Sora became a Hollow that Ichigo had to put down. Despite Sora's passing, he kept a watchful eye over her dear little sister until a group of hollows took him away and turned him into a Hollow, a monster named Acidwire that targeted Orihime. To top if off even more, Orihime's soul was taken out of her body - meaning her life was at great stake due to Sora becoming a Hollow. So this makes Orihime's backstory EVEN more tragic than Lala's because she could've died by her brother if the Chain of fate broke (Thank God it remained unbroken).

Orihime (and to some extent Ichigo) became the reason why Sora turned to Acidwire (his Hollow name). He felt lonely and so, he put the blame on Ichigo and her friends + Orihime stopped praying to Sora. Sora loved Orihime, but that dispute over the hairpins would define Orihime and Sora, unfortunately, ultimately turned into a Hollow. He died at the Kurosaki clinic due to a car crash, the day after the dispute of the hairpins. This puts some pressure on Orihime as she, it can be argued one way or another, contributed to Sora's death (hairpins, stopped praying to him, made friends, and developed crush on Ichigo).

Now I deeply apologize for not touching upon this subject because this is a tragic tragic backstory for Orihime. Her family, her brother's death, and so who raised her? Who took care of her? The only person I know who cared for Orihime was Tatsuki, her and Ichigo's friend. So this puts Orihime at a disadvantage at youth, but her meeting with Ichigo later on would empower her to become a stronger person. She continues to wear the hairpins and still talks to her deceased brother about how her days are - a reminder that they'll always be family and family comes first.

BIG BIG NEWS! I will be adding a new installment on Thursdays (and I'll think of one for Tuesdays & Saturdays). I recently have been watching Bleach from the very beginning and so I decided to add a new segment called - Bleach Episode Reviews (BER). I will think of a new name for that, but until then, look forward to Bleach Episode 1 Episode Review next Thursday. Orihime Inoue vs. Lala Deviluke (Happy-Go-Lucky Ladies)

Vs. 

Now, this is going to be a different kind of battle. This time, we're not going to compare whose stronger than the other, but rather look at character development and their relationship with our two heroes (Ichigo & Rito). These are two completely different genres of anime (Bleach & To-Love-Ru/Darkness), but the thing that these two lovely women have in common is this - They have a major crush on our heroes. These two not only love their heroes, but are both strong in their own right, have a bit of comic relief to them, and aren't what you'd call normal. We will be comparing the following:

1) History

2) Personality 

3) Looks

4) Relationship w/Hero

History

Orihime Inoue is Ichigo's classmate and Tatsuki's best friend. She had a older brother up until he died and became a hollow. To this day, Orihime keeps a picture of her brother, Sora, to remember him. Now Orihime's brother had a big impact on Orihime. You don't know what happened to the parents, but we know that the brother was the closest thing to a family that Orihime had. So this makes her backstory a bit tragic, but it isn't touched upon as much as Ichigo's or Rukia's past. 

Lala Deviluke is a princess from her own planet. She isn't from Earth, but when she arrives, she is quite fond of our hero, Rito Yuuki. She ran away from her planet because she was forced to marry someone she didn't want to be with, thus making her story not really tragic, but rather its treated like a "runaway girl who falls in love with a prince story." There isn't anything particularly tragic with her except that you don't know about the mother, she has two sisters, and her father is king/leader of Planet Deviluke.

Personality

Orihime is a happy-go-lucky kinda girl...at first. She was more like an airhead and treated as such, but as she went along with Ichigo and his friends, she became mature and lovey-dovey over Ichigo. She became dependent on everyones help (especially Ichigo), which makes her a damsel. What sets her apart is that when you compare how she was in the beginning to now, she has changed a lot. She's still happy-go-lucky, but she knows better and constantly worries about her friend's lives, how the foreseeable future will be for Karakura, and how she'll lead a normal life with her newfound Godly abilities of healing/rejecting. 

Lala Deviluke is exactly like Orihime minus the airhead part.  Lala is an inventor, but her creations are without flaws. She serves as a comic relief character whose is lovey dovey over Rito. A princess that has adapted to the Earthlings, Lala has learned how to live her days happily as part of Rito's harem. She isn't a damsel, but rather she can put up more of a fight (Example when she and Yami stopped a car from hurting a little kid). She gets a long with everyone. Happy over 9000x whose supportive, loving, caring, giving, and is concerned about everyone she's friends with (Rito, Mikan, Yami, Haruna, Momo & Nana to name a few). 

Looks

Orihime is pretty hot. I mean her boobs stand out (which Chizuru is really fond of). She is the 2nd character next to Ichigo that has orange hair (ICHIHIME). She's cute, has a body to die for, and above all else - there's just a funny, innocent, and adorable look to her. She isn't fat, but rather has a slim body (despite the fact that she eats funny foods). 

Lala is pretty hot as well. Pink hair and having a wardrobe robot that changes her outfit whenever (which of course has its Ecchi moments), Lala has various options for her wardrobe. And of course like any To-Love-Ru Character, she has boobs. I mean it grabbed the attention of Rito and she constantly sleeps naked next to him (Lucky Bastard!) 

Relationship w/Hero

Orihime Inoue has established that she has loved Ichigo for awhile, but Ichigo is unaware of Orihime's confession and so her relationship with Ichigo is kinda downplayed. But when they are together, a genuine relationship is there (they hugged, held hands, Ichigo carried her, and Orihime almost kissed Ichigo in his sleep). I do firmly believe Ichihime will likely be the result of a Bleach couple. 

Lala looooooooves Rito, a little too much. I find this funny and find myself extremely jealous of Rito. Everyone wants to be in Rito's shoes - have a cute pink haired alien girl who loves you, sleeps naked next to you, bathes and doesn't care if you see her naked, and a tail that pretty much is her sensitive spot when touched. Lala is competition with the other girls, but she still supports Haruna as her love rival. 

NOW you're probably wondering, who is the winner of these two lovely ladies? Well, to tell you the truth, I will have to pick, to no surprise: Orihime Inoue

Why: Well, to be honest, this was to be expected. I think Orihime is the better character for one reason - she is more developed. When you look at Lala, she's always happy, always supportive, and will always be there with Rito. I got nothing against Lala (I think she's also hot too), but I found Orihime more interesting. Orihime's character has changed from the beginning to end. From her personality to the events that took place in Hueco Mundo, Orihime dramatically went through a discovery of herself (as well as her role with Ichigo) and went from being an airhead to a woman who can heal wounds. I found her to be more interesting in her confession as well. I mean Lala's confession was downright like this: She fell in love with Rito when Rito mistakenly confessed to her when it was supposed to be Haruna. Now for Orihime, she loves Ichigo, but didn't tell him in person. Instead, she found a sleeping Ichigo, almost kissed him, and said that if she had several different lives - she would love Ichigo all the same + she went to Ichigo instead of anyone else (the person to whom she could see before departing for Hueco Mundo). I found that more powerful than Lala's misunderstanding of Rito's confession that would later turn to love. Not just that, but Orihime has powers that go beyond just strength and agility, she can heal and reject time so that it can predate before something happened (Ex: Chad's arm being f'ed up by the Yammy). To me, Orihime has a story that sets the mood and tone of how she'll develop more, has a killer body, and has powers that are just phenomenal. 

So who do you think is the better lady? Orihime Inoue or Lala Deviluke? Remember these are two completely different series, but the concept of loving the hero is similar in every way. Vote now! Look forward for more Fighter Mondays every Monday. Til then, Stay classy.

Throwback #7 - The Badass Quincy

Uryu Ishida, probably one of the most popular characters in Bleach aside from the Shinigami. A quincy nonetheless, he puts the A in Awesome. A calculative man, Uryu's precision in firing his bow is without question - flawless....at first. His first usage of his powers came to a shock to Ichigo and his pals, but what makes him stand out above the rest is his hatred for the Shinigami. Like most Quincy, Uryu is hostile towards Shinigami and Ichigo, being a Substitute, was no exception. He and Ichigo, enemies at first, are complete opposites. Ichigo, I admit, is brash and doesn't think much rather than to go on the offense. Uryu, however, is another thing - he deduces his opponents strengths and weaknesses, finds a flaw in their abilities, and simply fires his bow. He was pretty much a badass and has continued to be since his first appearance. He has had countless fights with Shinigami, but we all know the most popular of em all is - Uryu vs Mayuri. Two geniuses in their own right fighting face to face and are hostile towards another. Uryu embodies a cool, yet sophisticated character w/a sick-ass weapon, being a different species, and making him the 2nd strongest in Ichigo's group (Ichigo, Uryu, Renji, Rukia, Orihime, & Chad in my opinion).

Uryu's abilities compared to Ichigo, I admit, are somewhat on par. I mean both have attacks that can do major damage to an opponent (see Ichigo vs. Grimmjow & Uryu vs. Mayuri). I mean Grimmjow was pretty beat after his fight with Ichigo and Mayuri, well - a portion of his body was missing and he had to retreat - that's how badass these two are. Quincy or Shinigami, Uryu & Ichigo have proven to be badasses in their own way. So far in the manga, Uryu is sided with the Vandenreich, but we are unsure why. It could be a ploy (act) or perhaps he really is Ichigo's enemy now. I mean his backstory as a Quincy is pretty sad. His grandfather taught him about the Quincy and died, his father was uninterested with his son, and the whereabouts of the mother remain a mystery - plus he's a only child, no siblings whatsoever (much like Chad). I praise Uryu's design, personality, weaponry, and demeanor, but I will go on the right and say, I DON'T LIKE The URYUU + ORIHIME - NOT ONE BIT! I know fans may disagree, but I don't think it would work out. If it were me, it's Uryu & Nemu, the two share some sort of affinity for another. I mean Uryu blushed (alongside Renji) when Mayuri was supposedly treating Nemu who got f'ed up by an Espada. It sounded and looked perverted in both the Anime & Manga, but it's pretty funny that Uryu blushed at this - like what is his mind thinking while we was watching? And Nemu's boobs pretty much made Uryu blush even more, which I thought was cute and funny. For him and Orihime, NO, I don't see a chemistry one bit. I see only a friendship between the two - no more no less.

Now that I went on about why I don't like the Uryu + Orihime thing and why I think Uryu is the 2nd strongest character in Ichigo's group, I will conclude that Uryu is a badass character who I hope to see kick ass in this arc, enemy or ally. Bleach Segment Fridays (#4) - Twin Blades of Badassery

Alright, you know this was coming. This week's Bleach segment will have to be the unveiling of Ichigo's new Zangetsu. Compared to back then when it was just a large blade, Ichigo now is duel-wielding, much like Ukitake, Shunsui, and Hisagi. Of course we don't know its capabilities yet or what his Bankai is capable of doing, but knowing how Tite Kubo will go with this, it'll be, shall we say, LEGEN-(wait for it). The design overall was surprising, wielding a large and small blade that represent 'Those Zangetsus.' I mean this picture (above) is pretty badass. It's like a new chapter has begun for Ichigo, but it also remains nostalgic and fresh. You previously heard me state that Juha Bach/Old Man Zangetsu was Ichigo's quincy powers and that his actual hollow powers personified his Zanpaktou- making him a hybrid of some sort. He's beyond normal, that goes without question, but what makes him interesting is this:

1) Dad's a Shinigami
2) Mom's a Quincy

Two species that have had a hatred for another now embody our hero. On his shoulders lies the hope that his Dad and Mom left him that'll become the key in defeating the Vandenreich. Doors will be open and questions solved, let's hope that Ichigo's badassery will keep us entertained for the latest Bleach chapters. Till then, stay classy Bleach fans. WBCR - Duel Wield (Grade A)

My, my, so that's Ichigo's Zangetu? No, no, I should say Zangetsu with an "s" at the end. Our Badass Ichigo is duel wielding Zanpaktou - that's pretty awesome. I mean it went from one to two *snap* like that. So this week's chapter was a quick and interesting read and I gotta say, the duel wielding Zangetsu idea is pretty sick. I found it more engaging than last week's read which was a recap of the previous week's chapter. You see Ichigo refusing to let Zangetsu leave his mind. The "Zangetsu" he once knew will always be Zangetsu to him, but now Ichigo acknowledges that both the Old Man & his Hollow are his Zangetsu. And then we see the badassery that is Ichigo's Zanpaktou as he steps in during the final touches of Oetsu's forging and holds in his hand, two Kitchen appliances that represents his Zangetsu(s). Now, the shape and color of the sword compliment Ichigo, but when I first saw, I will admit it looked like two knives, one that's bigger than the other, but I think this duel-wielding Zangetsu will be both deadly and badass than the original and that's just its Shikai. What about its Bankai form? Im curious to know and how will Ichigo wield his swords now? I'm curious ladies and gentlemen. His Zanpaktou is so badass that it took Oetsu's entire sea to cool it down (due to the reiatsu and heat). Ichigo concludes that he is thankful in the past for both the Old man and his hollow, but now he will fight alone - because Zangetsu is Ichigo (the two are connected and are as one). And finally the conclusion that's the start of war arriving on the Soul Society as Juha Bach & the Stern Ritter. He has some "news" and that's where it ends. What's the news? Does it have something to do with Uryuu? Ichigo? Allies? Threats? Anyways, I give this week's rating an A because its a buildup of Ichigo's new Zanpaktou and shit will go down soon - All out Brawl!. Grimmjow Jaegerjaquez vs. Kisame Hoshigaki (Lovers of the Fight)

Vs.

So this anticipated matchup just popped into my head - two people who love to fight and are badasses. Both have tragic pasts, but nonetheless make up for it by kicking the asses of any who stand in their way, unwavering in their loyalty to their organization while still having a sense of dignity and badassery to them. These two, if not, are the men who symbolize destruction, havoc, and above all else - love to fight. Now people can argue that it's supposed to be Kenpachi vs Kisame, but we all know Kenpachi wins by a landslide (this may be arguable, but I stand by my opinion). I found Grimmjow a more suitable match because unlike Kenpachi, it wouldn't be much of a landslide. It's panther vs. shark, predator vs. predator, and Akatsuki vs. Espada. 

Grimmjow is or was a member of the Espada up until Aizen got sealed away and a good # of the Arrancars were killed in Karakura Town. His backstory tells us that he was a lonesome Adjuchas-class Menos wandering Hueco Mundo for food and shelter. When he met Di Roy Linker and the rest of his group (later would be his subordinates), they saw Grimmjow as another meal. However, Grimmjow refused to be eaten and ate a portion of them. In awe of his power, Grimmjow was made their King by eating a portion of each member of the group. Short-tempered and now being a Vasto Lorde level, Grimmjow leveled up the ranks of being the 6th Espada under Aizen's rule. He proved to be a match for Ichigo as he kicked  hisass in their 1st and 2nd encounters while having little injury, but it wasn't until the 3rd encounter that not only did Ichigo outmatch him, but Grimmjow was interrupted by Nnoirtra Gilga, the 5th Espada in Aizen's army and much like Grimmjow, a man who loves fights and hates cowards. Grimmjow showed restraint when fighting Ichigo because he believed Ichigo wouldn't be remotely close to being a match for him in his resurrecion (Pantera). Pantera, Grimmjow's true form, posed a true threat to Ichigo as he takes on the form of a Panther-like creature that's agile, 10x powerful than his regular form, and is capable of f'ing up Ichigo. 

Kisame is a missing-nin Ninja and was a member of the Seven Ninja Swordsmen of the Mist. His backstory tells us that he killed the previous owner, Fuguki Suikazan, for his sword, Samehada, and slaughtered his own team-mates to protect information from being leaked out to the enemy under orders from Fuguki Suikazan, Kisame's former superior and former wielder of the Samehada. He can be described as being loya, going as far as to kill off his team-mates so that the enemy wouldn't dare get any intel if they were to talk. He has a title "Monster of the Hidden Mist" and has been a threat to Konoha up until his demise. Now Kisame has been a loyal member of the Akatsuki and has been one of the few Akatsuki members who died last. Not only is loyal and good as what he does, but he even committed suicide to protect Akatsuki's secrets from being leaked. Aside from his loyalty, he is pretty good at deducing his opponent's attacks and countering them with his Samehada. That's another point I have to make, Kisame is strong because of Samehada, which can drain a ninja's chakra, and is skilled in taijutsu. What makes Kisame even stronger was him combing with Samehada and becoming a taile beast without a tail - making him the first of his kind. He withstood so much from Guy, Killer B, and A, and was able to live through each battle until he, as I said, committed suicide.

Now let's make comparisons:

1) Both love fighting

2) Both are loyal to their organization 

3) Both represent an animal

4) Both have enhanced strength and agility in their strongest forms

The verdict, in my honest opinion, would have to be:  Kisame Hoshigaki

Why: Now I know I said Grimmjow is, if not, my favorite male Espada, but I will give the cake to Kisame for one reason - I think Kisame is smarter than Grimmjow. Now hear me out, Grimmjow isn't stupid or anything, but I do believe he is reckless, irrational, and short-tempered when you compare him to Kisame. As I said, Kisame deduces his opponent's attacks and as a result, he was able to keep his stand despite being f'ed up numerous times. Unlike Grimmjow, Kisame had dignity and would throw away his life for Akatsuki. Grimmjow, I felt, had no choice but to comply with Aizen's wishes or else he'll get killed by him. There were numerous times I felt that Grimmjow underestimated his opponents. He succumbed to injury by Ichigo on his first encounter, but in their next encounter - Grimmjow had a handicap since he was one-armed (Thanks to Tousen) and since Ichigo has been training w/the Visored, f'ed up Grimmjow up until his mask gave out. Kisame, despite succumbing to injuries, was able to withstand more which I think makes him stronger. Grimmjow had restraints, but with Kisame, he could've killed Naruto without mercy. Plus, Kisame became one with Samehada, making him even more powerful. Not only is Grimmjow powerful in his resurreccion form, but I thought his weaknesses were exploited way too easily compared to Kisame. Kisame's sword and quick thinking have made him a more formidable, interesting, and powerful foe. Aside from Kisame's thinking and Samehada, I think he has more of a tragic past compared to Grimmjow. I mean he had to kill his own teammates, kill his own superior, and even committed suicide at the end to protect Akatsuki. Grimmjow didn't leave much of an impression with the Espada and very much acted like a child, much to Aizen's disapproval. Grimmjow just got f'ed up by Ichigo, Shinji, and Nnoitra - which isn't as memorable as Kisame's fights where he was able to being both a match for his opponents while exploiting their weaknesses.

Throwback #6 - Plushy (Anime-Filler Mod Souls)

Remember these lil plushies that have brought us enjoy and entertainment? Remember how they helped us out in the Bount and even to some extent the Arrancar? If not, remember how annoying they were? I don't mean to burst anyone's bubble, but I wasn't a big fan of the mod souls in the Bount arc.. One was enough, but now we got 3 more? I'm bringing this up because although I find them to be quite annoying and bothersome, they are still nostalgic characters in the Bleach anime. Being only Anime characters, these 3 (picture above and below) were the ones who could sense Bounts and fought alongside Team Ichigo & the Soul Society. I will admit the girl mod soul having a lil crush on Ichigo is pretty cute, but we all know in the end it's Ichihime (sorry Ichiruki fans, but Im a Ichihime kinda guy).

These 3 adorable plushies go by the names Ririn (Bird), Kurodo (Pink purse), and Noba (Turtle), they accompany Ichigo in defeating the Bounts. They did some damage, but Ichigo in the end saved the day alongside the other Shinigami. I wanna start off with this - I wasn't a big fan of the Bount arc. I found it to be talkative and not enough action. There has to be a balance in order for it to be entertaining while at the same time giving detail as to why its important. I may/may not look back into this anime filler arc, but that won't change my opinion on the 3 mod souls (excluding Kon). I mean they were annoying in my opinion. Putting them into plushies didn't sit well with me - it only created comic relief that was forced rather than it be prevalent. For example Ichigo and Rukia's shenanigans are prevalent throughout each arc as well as Ichigo's constant bickering with other characters. See that worked, but when you put anime-filler characters with Kon - it only distracts the Bleach audience. I mean in their humanoid forms, they did some damage I will admit. But in their plushy forms, comic relief all the way.

Now that I've ranted on about the mod souls, does that mean I hate these 3 with a passion? No, not at all. I just find them annoying and distracting. I mean the Bount arc, you could see why their roles were prevalent because they did help fight Kariya and the rest of the Bount from taking over Soul Society and causing havoc. In the Arrancar arc, that was forced. Not only was that NOT in the manga, but in the anime - they got their asses kicked. To me, these 3 mod souls serve as forced comic relief. If you like them, more power to you, it's just not my cup of tea. In terms of Kon, I will admit for the first mod soul - he was funny, he was perverted, and he kicked ass against Ichigo in his own body. So Kon is passable for me, but the 3 mod souls, at least in their plushies, I wasn't a fan of. In their humanoid forms, they were alright.

Bleach Segment Fridays (#3) - The Real Zangetsu

So this week's segment isn't going to be long since this week's chapter wasn't much of a long read. The only thing you needed to know on what happened is that Old Man Zangetsu wasn't the real Zangetsu and that the real Zangetsu is shown at the end while Old Man Zangetsu is at peace and withers away. Zangetsu's initial appearance is so blinding that it pretty much ends the chapter *snap* like that. I am curious to know its shape and form since its from Ichigo's hollow and if Ichigo's visored powers are still active.

Honestly, there's not much to say. Ichigo's hollow is Zangetsu and the Zangetsu knew all along was his Quincy powers who for some reason didn't want Ichigo to become a Shinigami because he feared for Ichigo's life and that he would have to kill him. It took less than a 2 minutes to read, but other than that, I expect more in the new bleach chapter. Til then, tune in for another Throwback this Sunday. Stay Classy.

WBCR - I am, but I am not (Grade B)

So ladies and gentlemen, the latest chapter was released this morning It pretty much can be summed up in 3 words: continuing revelation chapter. You are well aware that Juha Bach was Zangetsu in the last chapter from 1000 years ago as explained in my last bleach chapter and segment. This chapter pretty much continues that, but with Ichigo nonetheless still taking in the fact that his "Zangetsu" was Juha Bach. Ichigo is pretty much in denial and for many reasons. He's been forging his power alongside "Zangetsu" who helped him complete his training against formidable foes (such as Kenpachi). He fought alongside "Zangetsu" as if he were an inner extension of himself that represents his Shinigami powers. However, this isn't the case as "Zangetsu" represented Ichigo's Quincy powers, NOT his Shinigami powers. Ichigo comes to the stunning realization that Juha Bach looks like Zangetsu (or Old Man by Ichigo). "Zangetsu" goes on to and says that he is Juha Bach, but not at the same time. He doesn't represent good or bad, but only serves as Ichigo's quincy powers. Ichigo, at this point, is in complete denial and confusion. Up until now, "Zangetsu" has truthfully been giving Ichigo wisdom and fortitude, but his only deception was his name. Ever since "Zangetsu" taught Ichigo about his Zanpaktou, it was his Ichigo's powers that were used at that time and when Ichigo was in peril, it was Ichigo's hollow that helped him out, NOT "Zangetsu." As said above, "Zangetsu" didn't want Ichigo to become a Zanpaktou and because of it, he had no choice but to become Ichigo's primary source of power. He feared Ichigo, being a Shinigami, would put his life at risk at every peril Ichigo would encounter and that "Zangetsu" would eventually cut him down, but this changes. He saw Ichigo constantly training and improving himself despite the struggles and perils he had to go through. It then shows "Zangetsu" saying he's at peace and whatnot, believing that Ichigo overcame all the ordeals. He adds on to say that he'll relinquish his hold on Ichigo as he withers away and reveals - the real Zangetsu and that what Ichigo was previously using was only a fraction. And that's pretty much the chapter.

Not much to say since I covered it all, but it seems that Zangetsu was meant to be Ichigo's blade, the real one at that. It's so blinding that it concludes the chapter at that. What will it look like? Will it be as as badass ad before? Now that Ichigo's hollow represents him, will he still have the mask? Overall, I thought this chapter was okay. I mean there wasn't much buildup, it's just repeating itself w/little more dialogue. The real Zangetsu reveal is the big question, but other than that, it was a average chapter that took less than a minute to read and I was expecting more. Tune in Friday for Segment of the week.

Toshiro Hitsugaya vs. Gray Fullbuster (Ice Ice Baby)

Vs.

The two ice men that kick complete ass while still staying pretty to all the fans. Not only are these two strong in their own right, but have a woman by their side all the time (Juvia & Rangiku). If you haven't guessed already, this week's matchup is between Bleach's Toshiro Hitsugaya vs. Fairy Tail's Gray Fullbuster - the Ice Ice Baby matchup if you will. These two serve as friends of the main protagonists as well as being a favorable character in the overall series. Use ice as their primary element of attack, these two know how to put "chill" in chilling out their enemies. The main difference is one's a Shinigami and the other a Magi, but does this make the other better than the other? I mean both have abilities that have outwitted their opponents, both are willing to risk their lives to save a woman they care about, and both have rivals (Gray and Natsu & Toshiro and Ichigo). 

Toshiro is the 10th Captain of the Gotei 13. His Bankai (Daiguren Hyorinmaru) pretty much is an Ice Dragon and with his Bankai, he can do attacks revolving around ice that can "chill out" his opponents. At a young age, Toshiro has been a unique specimen. He grew up alongside his Grandma and his childhood friend who became a Shinigami, Momo Hinamori. Rangiku Matsumoto, Toshiro's lieutenant, was the one who found out about Toshiro's power and even persuaded him to join the Gotei 13 in order to control his powers from hurting others (especially his Grandma). In all his battles, he always unveils a trick up his sleeve as his sword is capable of multiple attacks. Take for example his attack Ryusenka (Dragon Hail flower) - stab an opponent and the tip of his sword when in contact with an object encases and freezes that object. Toshiro's past is what defines him as being one of the youngest captains of the Gotei 13 as well as being one fo the central secondary characters in the series. He serves as Ichigo's felow comrade and through all his battles, he comes out stronger than ever. Currently, his Bankai has been stolen and he has to resort to basic swordsmanship skills in order to stand any chance against the Vandenreich. 

Gray Fullbuster is a Ice-Make Mage capable of making attacks pertaining to ice. Take for example - Ice Make Shield and Ice Make Sword. His abilities allow him to be pretty creative with his attacks while at the same time there's no originality behind it. Just say Ice-Make and name an object (Sword, Arrow, Shield) and he can make it happen. His abilities are shaping and creating forms from ice and forging it into his power. He has shown to be a valuable asset to Team Natsu (Lucy, Natsu, Erza, & Gray - alongside Happy, Wendy, and Carla). Gray has had a troublesome past since his home and his family were pretty much wiped out by the demon Deliora. He, alongside his master, Ur, and his friend, Lyon, were pretty much the closest thing he has had to a family. When Ur sacrificed herself and Lyon Gray's enemy (later rival/friend), Gray was left alone up until he joined Fairy Tail and became one of the team. The Shirtless Ice-Man is cool, witty, and serves as both a comic relief/rival to Natsu and a obsessed love interest for Juvia. 

So these two's comparisons are as followed:

1) Tragic pasts and joined part a organization (Gotei 13/Fairy Tail) 

2) Abilities that shape/form/revolve around  Ice 

3) Woman  serve them (Rangiku/Juvia)

4) Friends/Rivals with Protagonist (Ichigo/Natsu)
5) Childhood Friends (Momo/Lyon) 

The verdict, in my opinion, would have to be - Hitsugaya

Why: Well, I know this might sound unfair, but I think Hitsugaya was gonna win the entire time because not only does he utilize Ice, but also WATER. I mean his powers have been manifesting since he was young and he has had a difficult time learning how to cope with that. Unlike Gray who had a teacher at a young age, Toshiro didn't have one. Toshiro had to be influenced by a Shinigami in order to learn of his powers, but even then - he still is learning while it seems Gray is fully aware of how to go about with his powers. I will admit Gray's past was more troubling than Toshiro's, but that doesn't excuse the main factor - Gray can forge anything from Ice-Make and Toshiro's Hyorinmaru has a limit (in Bankai) that utilizes his power while at the same time depletes his spiritual energy. So that means Toshiro is gambling with his life as he constantly uses Bankai against his opponents. Gray seems as if he can get himself out of trouble while Toshiro is constantly getting into trouble - which makes his fight more believable when he wins and overcomes the odds while still retaining some spirit energy. Gray is good and all, but I found his powers unoriginal compared to Toshiro and that with Toshiro's Shikai/Bankai, the dragon is a representation of Toshiro's power - he is the dragon, he can control ice AND water, and he uses all this when swinging his blade (much like Hiei from Yu Yu Hakusho utilizing Dragon of the Darkness Flame and him becoming that dragon). Gray I found was a dull, but a fun character - it's just that when you compare how Toshiro utilizes ice and water with his powers, Gray's powers are predicable and not that creative compared to Toshiro.

Throwback #5 - Grimmjow Jaegerjaquez

Ah, I remember this guy. Not only was he one of my favorite Espadas, he was, in my opinion, one of Ichigo's fated rivals (the others being Kenpachi, Byakuya, & Uryuu). This beast's presence when entering Karakura town was just phenomenal. He did considerable damage to Ichigo and even his spiritual pressure was enough to scare both Ichigo & Rukia. He represents the aspect of Destruction and it clearly shows as he is merciless in taking down his opponents, getting what he wants by force, and not complying all the time with his master's orders (which of course resulted in consequences).

He didn't even give a second thought to his subordinates who died in battle - that's how cold and hardcore he is. He is the 6th Espada and for that reason, this guys kicks major ass. He not only f'ed up Ichigo, he humiliated him. Even in his Bankai form, Ichigo couldn't do much damage to this monster. Rukia said his spiritual energy is worlds apart from the Arrancar that Rukia killed and when the title "6" is tattooed on Grimmjow, then it means you don't underestimate him. Grimmjow impaled Rukia as if it were nothing and made Ichigo into his punching bag. He clearly outmatches and outclasses Ichigo in every aspect since Ichigo refuses to let his inner hollow take over him. Later, however, that changes as Ichigo & Grimmjow are evenly matched in their second and third encounters.


Grimmjow's Resurreccion is called Pantera (translates into Panther King). His form is not only badass in design and power, but he has a lot of abilities that prove to be catastrophic. He uses Gran Rey Cero which does considerable damage and is considered banned from usage in Hueco Mundo. In Ichigo's first fight, he lost and was sparred, much to Ichigo's humiliation and disappointment. In his second fight, Ichigo did more damage to Grimmjow (while Grimmjow had a handicap). In the third & final fight, both were pretty matches, but just as Grimmjow was about to continue his ramapage, the 5th Espada, Nnoitra, struck him down with his huge-ass blade. So that brings up the question - is Grimmjow dead? The answer is No. He is hinted to be alive alongside a few other Arrancar and could be an asset agains the incoming war against the Vandenreich. Grimmjow's past is explored more upon meeting his subordinates, who were at the time Grimmjow's enemies/food. Being fiercely loyal Grimmjow upon witnessing his strength and tenacity, Grimmjow was allowed to live and served as their leader until they turned into Vasto Lorde. Grimmjow, to this day, still serves as one of the many rivals of Ichigo as well as many Bleach fans adoring him for his power, design, and overall badassery.

Bleach Segment Fridays (#2) - Zangetsu = Juha Bach

So this week's installment of Bleach Segment of the Week is no surprise - Zangetsu. I mean I went in length on the WBCR, but it seems that he is now the talk of the Bleach franchise. I mean we all know Ichigo and Zangetsu go together like Salad and Dressing, but it seems as if its apples and oranges now with the big reveal - Zangetsu is Ichigo's Quincy power. I mean that moment stood out for all Bleach fans, like it or not, it just happened. Zangetsu's appearance has been compared to Juha Bach since his appearance as this arc's Antagonist. He's been around for a long time and went further to killing off Old man Yama just like that, his henchmen doing much damage, but the real Juha going fatality on Old man Yama's ass. So this very scene in the manga depicts the moment of Zangetsu's importance as he is Juha Bach 1000 years ago and represents Ichigo's quincy powers meaning - he never was Ichigo's Zanpaktou power, but most likely an aid for his future battles up until he uncovers the truth. Note that the filler arc of Zanpaktou tales is most likely NOT linked to the current arc in the Manga. I mean this has been plaguing people's minds once this revelation was shown in this week's Bleach chapter. I wonder what what will happen next week because with this Revelation, we are diving into Ichigo's quincy powers and his inner hollow turns out to be his actual Zanpaktou, not Zangetsu. In fact, he's NOT Zangetsu, he's Juha Bach.

So that concludes this week's Friday segment. I mean it shouldn't come off as a surprise that I chose this as the segment today because, ya'know, it got all Bleach fans speculating, questioning, and ranting on about this revelation. Tune in on Sunday for another Throwback of Bleach.

WBCR - The Revelation (Grade A+)

Ladies and Gentlemen, did you read this latest Bleach chapter that has gotten much attention with the Bleach fans? Ichigo's Zangetsu turned out to be Juha Bach from 100 years ago and is his QUINCY powers. So that, my fellow Bleach fans, is the big revelation - Ichigo has both Shinigami & Quincy powers. Zangetsu, whom we all loved and adored, was never a Zanpaktou, but it personified Ichigo's quincy powers in the form of Juha Bach. Ichigo's new Zanpaktou as of now is being crafted/forged by Oetsu and his "Sword Five" consisting of 4 beautiful chicks (well some) and is coincidentally the title of this week's chapter. Many fans, now, will either do one of two things - create a theory behind this chapter on Ichigo's revelation or dismiss it entirely. I for one am pumped about this week's chapter because it had questions and left us to conjure up answers of our own in hopes it'll be correct. The chapter pretty much is Ichigo getting his Zanpaktou forged and the revelation of Ichigo's Quincy powers projected as Juha Bach from 1000 years ago. First off, I had a feeling that Juha Bach and Zangetsu looked awfully familiar - black wavy hair, facial hair, same-looking eyes, and black cloak. This revelation of Ichigo's Quincy powers isn't much a surprise because it was heavily hinted during Masaki's backstory with Isshin. Inheriting powers from your folks is pretty common in most Action manga. The Quincy powers have played a pivotal role in Uyuu's life, but now the center of the Quincy name is now on Ichigo. Juha Bach takes on the form of Zangetsu and Ichigo's hollow turns out to be his actual forged Zanpaktou. Zangetsu/Juha Bach is the central topic of this chapter because Ichigo is now self-aware that he has Quincy powers, Zangetsu was never his Zanpaktou, and Zangetsu is Juha Bach from years ago. What I want to know, aside from the many Bleach fans asking, is why did Zangetsu help out Ichigo in the past? To give him strength, teach him, or use all that combined to later on betray Ichigo. There must an ulterior motive behind this - Juha Bach being Zangetsu could be one of many things. First he's a quincy, not a Zanpaktou, and secondly, if Ichigo now knows he is his enemy, then why did Zangetsu stay with him or furthermore - Juha Bach seems to have a part of Ichigo's life - are they related? Does "my son born in darkness" inquire something about the two characters? Is 1000 year old Zangetsu that Ichigo knew going to explain in the next chapter, turn out to be good, or be evil as he already is presently?

So you see this chapter has gotten much of my attention in my speculations of Ichigo's Quincy and Shinigami powers. The backstory further added to the idea that Ichigo's Mom is a Quincy and Ichigo's Dad is a Shinigami - making him a hybrid child born with the two powers to become the Ultimate Spirit Warrior (cheesy ain't it). I'd say it comes as close to being a perfect chapter w/Ichigo's Zanpaktou explanation with the hollows (His hollow is forging to be his Zanpaktou) and Ichigo's revelation on his Quincy Powers/Zangetsu = Juha Bach from 1000 years ago. I give this week's chapter an A+. Tune in for Friday on this week's Bleach segment

Byakuya Kuchiki vs Hiei (Battle of Speed, Calmness, & Tragic Pasts)

VS.

So the first matchup that came to my mind is Byakuya Kuchiki from Bleach & Hiei from Yu Yu Hakusho. Both, in my personal opinion, embody 3 elements that make them similar: Cool, Fast, & have plenty of tricks up their sleeve to keep them interesting. They are considered cool in both their personality and character to the point that they have both attracted rivals, Renji/Ichigo/Kenpachi from Bleach & Kuwabara/Yusuke/Kurama from Yu Yu Hakusho. Both have tragic pasts where Byakuya lost the love of his life and Hiei was abandoned/cursed from his own birth-home as well as not seeing his sister for a long time. They also both have attacks that make em formidable opponents for the main character (Ichigo Kurosaki & Yusuke Urameshi). These two were first antagonists to the main character, but later would become allies. And to add - both got their asses kicked by the protagonist. They are powerful in their own right, but they are far beyond perfect. Both have openings in their power and have been overpowered by tough opponents, but nonetheless - that's what makes this duo a pretty good pair to match in a fight. I won't got in depth on their abilities one by one, but I will got a little bit on their main power (Senbonzakura vs. Dragon of the Darkness Flame). 

Byakuya's Zanpaktou is considered both fast and elegant, capable of doing considerable damage. Look at Renji. He lost to Byakuya in his Bankai form and survived. Same as Ichigo. Senbonzakura has done considerable damage to all of Byakuya's opponents. Not only that Byakuya is a Kido practitioner and a pretty good one at that as well as a Shunpo Expert. A combination of a deadly Shikai/Bankai ability, Kido Expert, and Shunpo Master - Byakuya mixes the elements of cool and fast. Not only that, he can foresee his opponents next move, always remains calm during a fight, and he isn't hesitant to abide by a set of rules and regulations to ensure the peace and prosperity of the Soul Society. 

Hiei is a demon that has killed many that have got in his way. I mean look at Yusuke, with his Jagan Eye, Hiei did a good number on Yusuke. But what of Hiei's other opponents like Shigure, Bui, or Momotaro? They did a number on him, but nonetheless Hiei kicked their asses and you know what - Hiei is, if not, THE Dragon of the Darkness Flame. I mean Damn, he pulverized them and did it with style. Hiei is fast, has plenty of dragon attacks, and has the Jagan Eye. He pretty much a speed machine w/element of epic Darkness Dragon and his Jagan (demon) form. He remains calm, analyzes his opponents, and wants what's best for Team Urameshi and his sister, Yukina. 

So in my opinion - these two have had the following:

1) A Tragic past that defines who and what they are

2) Fast as Shit when reading/predicting their opponents

3) Calm as Fuck in most battles

4) Plenty of Tricks up their Sleeve (techniques and abilities)

4) Got their asses kicked by protagonists 

The final verdict is (in my opinion) - Byakuya Kuchiki

Why: Despite Hiei's impressive agility, badass techniques, and over-the top style of beating the crap out of his opponents, I found Byakuya's strength, demeanor, and overall style of fighting to be more defensive that Hiei's. Byakuya has both a defensive and offensive fighting style with Hiei is solely focused on offense with his speed being the escape route. I mean Byakuya can create a shield from Senbonzakura and he takes command of over 1000+ blades while Hiei, impressive as a Dragon, could only do much. Byakuya has lost to Ichigo, that is without question, but it was pretty much tied (in my opnion). For Hiei vs Yusuke, Hiei clearly lost and even got knocked out. Byakuya not only lost lotta blood when he fought Ichigo, he had the balls to save Rukia from Gin and sustain even more injury to himself. Hiei, impressive and badass as he is, I hate to break it to ya, but Byakuya Kuchiki is the stronger opponent. I found him more relatable because you see the pain he's going through with Rukia (being Hisana's little sister) and how is perception of duty changed upon meeting Ichigo. Same can be said Hiei and meeting Yusuke, but I think Hiei joined partly because he's taking the Vegeta-Route (Where he sees his rival as a friend, but still wants to prove himself a bit). Hiei, you see his pain, but it's as if it doesn't affect him as much as Byakuya's because Hiei's past is explained more in the final arc of Yu Yu Hakusho wheras Byakuya's was explained in the first major Arc of the story with more to come afterwards. Throwback #4 - Ichigo vs. Renji (Round 1)

So I was thinking back on Ichigo's many fights and I figured Hey, what about his first fight with a Shinigami? And then it hit me - Ichigo vs. Renji w/the result of Rukia going with Renji and Byakuya to the Soul Society & Ichigo gettin' his hand handed to him with Zabimaru! Yes, our orange-haired hero got his ass pwned by Renji's Zabimaru because Ichigo's strength wasn't at its peak nor was Zangetsu even around at the time, leaving Ichigo vulnerable, inexperienced, and it being the first time Ichigo is fighting a Shinigami -  he clearly is outmatched in every aspect. Ichigo now only has no clear form of his Zanpaktou, but didn't even know that Zanpaktou had names or that there was a Shikai form. With Renji's Zabimaru, Ichigo was both outmatched and outclassed due to Renji's experience. Zabimaru proved too much for Ichigo and although Ichigo's spiritual energy was a bit impressive, he was still no match for Renji. This proved to be a great loss for Ichigo because he was unable to save Rukia from turning herself in for her crimes and Rukia, greatly upset with Ichigo attempting to save her, had no regrets when she departed form the Human World.

Ichigo now must save Rukia which then turns out become the central arc for Ichigo and his team (Yoruichi, Orihime, Chad, & Uryuu). This loss would be not just a wake-up to Ichigo, but this proved to be the perfect timing to train himself with Urahara to find out about his Zanpaktou, get his Shikai (form, shape, & power), and learn a technique that could be useful when fighting off other Shinigami in Gotei 13 since he clearly is starting war by doing so. To rescue Rukia, he must start a war. That war would go through its ups and downs, but nonetheless his first loss to Renji would become the birthplace for Ichigo gaining power. This would become the defining moment for Ichigo that would shape and mold his powers into that of the Ichigo we know and love - Badass, Kickass, and a complete Beast!
