Lu Bu vs. Kenpachi Zaraki (Live for the Fight, Die for the moment, Smile for the victor)

Vs.

This battle is going to be a little different. For starters, one's based off an Anime & the other is based off a video game that is based on Chinese history. So I'm going to eliminate the factor of Kenpachi's eyepatch and just go off his swordsmanship abilities. For one, I've been wanting to do this matchup for quite some time, but didn't know how to present it without sounding cheesy, unconvincing, and overall random. I wanted to give you my in-depth opinion on these two warriors - lovers of the fight, anxious for the moment, and determined to see the end. After all, both these powerful men have rivals, are unmatched in skill & ability, and, to be fair, aren't the nicest guys you'll meet. In fact, it's cautious to approach these two unless you're looking to get a beating or are killed - it's your death wish. These two powerful, strong, and lustful for battle warriors will do whatever it takes to fight the best and, if possible, lose to the best. They after all live to see the fights - the adrenaline behind their blades just showcases their strength, training, and overall persona as a warrior, fighter, and soldier. So let's start off this shindig

Backstory: Lu Bu is the mightiest warrior under Dong Zhuo's army and is his son of some sorts. However, Lu Bu detests Dong Zhuo's rule and would later slay him. Alongside Diao Chan, Lu Bu, at Hu La Gate, faces off against Yuan Shao's coalition army. With Wu, Shu, & Wei allying with the coalition, Lu Bu found himself in a pickle - but for Lu Bu, it was what he was waiting for and his name became a reminder to never approach him. Upon Cao Cao's escape from Dong Zhuo's clutches, Lu Bu pursued them and lost. Rather than letting the mighty warrior ally with him, Cao Cao insisted that this man, this demon be executed. As such, Lu Bu, the once mighty warrior of the land & feared for his name & weapon was executed. (This is what I know from the games, not history)

Kenpachi Zaraki is a lustful warrior who, for the most part, has wanted to challenge the best. Even at a young age, he was able to best the first Kenpachi, said to be the most dangerous criminal of all the Soul Society. He never duel wields or used two hands to wield his sword - he is simply a one-armed swinging demon. Upon becoming the 11th Division captain for killing the previous Kenpachi, Zaraki took the title 'Kenpachi' and learned the ways of the sword thanks to Captain Yamamoto's teachings. Even though he's had his fair share of losses - Kenpachi comes back stronger than ever, smiling, laughing, and wanting to best his opponents until the time has come. Even at the brink of death, Kenpachi's swordsmanship skills + his willingness to win make him all the more dangerous to approach.

Fighting Skills: Lu Bu wields a halberd and as such, he is able to best opponents Guan Yu, Zhang Gei, & Liu Bei all at the same time. His willingness to fight the best showcases his mastery of his halberd. His name feared throughout the land, no one in the right mind dares to challenge Lu Bu and his famous Halberd.

Kenpachi wields a Zanpaktou that he took from someone he killed in the past. Though one-handed, Kenpachi swings most of the time land hits on his opponents - making it hard to defend. Like Lu Bu, his name is feared throughout Seireitei and many refrain from messing with him. However, he has learned to use two-hands (1 time).

Verdict: I know this is short and could've gone on and on. I know I said In-depth, but when you look at it - comparing the fighting & backstory sums up who'll win in the end. In Dynasty Warriors, Lu Bu is strong to fight and at times, could easily drain your life bar with just a few hits. In Bleach, Kenpachi endured much more and as such, it's more relatable + he keeps standing back up to for more. So even though this wasn't the biggest challenge to date, I am going to give this victory to Kenpachi strictly because he can endure more than Lu Bu, who is strong in own right, but nowhere as strong as Kenpachi - willing to stand back up after near-death experiences. This win goes to Zaraki

So who do you think would've won in this fight (No spiritual energy, just swordsmanship skills & endurance)? Let me knows your thoughts and until then, you all stay classy now!

Throwback #20 - Kukaku....is a she? (Kukaku Shiba)

At the very beginning of Bleach, Ichigo & his friends were overwhelmed with Gin Ichimaru's presence and as a result, were unable to enter the Seireitei. The other option was using the Shiba Clan's Cannon that'll fire them up towards Seireitei just so long as everyone's spiritual pressure compiles to form the cannonball. However, what Ichigo & his friends left out was the person behind the Cannonball - Kukaku Shiba - a woman, not a man. Everyone suspected Kukaku to be a 'he,' but nonetheless, the big-BEEWBED woman showed just how reliable, helpful, strong, and terrifying she was in helping out the Ryoka. I like Kukaku not only because of her BEEWBS, but because of her willingness to help out the Ryoka as well as having love & affection for her idiotic, bumbling, & tough brother Ganju. She may not show it, but an older sibling's love for their younger ones is special. Kukaku also has a funny side to her - punching Rukia continuously in the face when she kept apologizing for supposedly being the cause of Kaien Shiba's demise. However, deep down, Kukaku forgave her long ago if and only if Rukia would go up to her and apologize just once. Caring, tough, HOT, and affectionate - Kukaku's one tough woman you don't wanna cross. And the fact that Kukaku is portrayed by a woman just pretty much shows one of the many instances of comedy Bleach has to offer with its memorable characters, great storytelling, importance on character arc & design, and overall the phenomenal world Bleach has introduced us to.

I hope you enjoyed this week's Throwback. Until then, look forward to tomorrow's Fight Night and you all stay classy now!

The 100th Post - WBCR - The Finger! (Grade A-)

Oh boy, where to begin with this chapter. First off, it continues. The fighting is far from over and you know what - it's about damn time too. Last week's chapter was a hit-&-miss for me - it has its pros and cons. On one hand I liked Sui-Feng's Shunkou, but on the other hand was underestimating Buzz-B. So this week, it's leaning more towards the pros than cons. So let me get this out of the way:

Pros
+ Askin Nakk Le Vaar

+ Bazz-B & BG9 aren't dead just yet

+ The idea of foreseeing the Shinigami's strength without their Bankai

+ The idea that Bazz-B's character could have easily offset Captain Yamamoto's flames

+ BG9's appearance looks not all that bad

+ The FINGER! (LOL)

Cons
- The Shinigami's reaction to their supposed victories (never assume or underestimate)

So this week's chapter was pretty short in which I can cover it in 3 bullet points like so (No seriously, this week's chapter was short, simple, and was pretty much elaborating more on the Stern Ritters abilities and the underestimating part on the Shinigami's side):

*Sui-Feng vs BG9 - BG9 knew of Sui-Feng's abilities and is disappointed by her power

* Bazz-B could easily defeat Hitsugaya with just his finger alone

* Askin' elaborating on foreseeing the Shinigamu's growth, but it was all part of his Majesty's knowledge from the get-go

There you have it. Sui-Feng & Hitsugaya pretty much underestimated their opponents and are pretty much out of the races....or are they? This brings me to conclude that both sides underestimate each other, but there's always a trump card when you need it for the enemy side. So the question is - do the Shinigami have what it takes to defeat the Stern Ritter's trump card? Sui-Feng & Hitsugaya's defeat doesn't necessarily mean it's over for those fights (At least I hope so), but that it's going to be a long bloodbath. This is after all the finale of Bleach, its in its final chapters, but the arc will expand more than 50+ chapters (I hope so). So we have to deal with setting up fights, build-up of character development , and cliffhangers on Bankai & Stern Ritter powers. This week's chapter is a solid one - I'm giving it an A-, could have been more, but then again - it's a setup for what's to come for the Shinigami as they fight for their lives against these formidable foes. Well I hope you enjoyed this week's WBCR. Until then, you all stay classy now! Grade for this week: A-

Affinity #13 - URNEYUMU! (Uryu & Nemu)

This couple hasn't been under the radar for quite some time. Why is that? Do people consider this couple invalid? Well it was noted that this couple would surface upon their first encounter in the Soul Society. Much like Ichigo & Nelliel, Uryu & Nemu are no exception. Nemu is Mayuri's creation, aka daughter. Nemu is incredibly loyal to Mayuri, despite being only a product of Mayuri's schemes. Unlike most lieutenants, Nemu is quiet - unattached to the other Shinigami. This is why Uryu's concern for her is so, what you'd call, cute. Uryu cares for a robot, but to Mayuri - that's all who Nemu really is - a product made by Mayuri for his personal uses. However, what stood out for me on this couple were two scenes. The first is their first meeting in which Uryu fought Mayuri & Nemu gave the antidote to Uryu so that he can once again fight alongside his comrades. The genuine bond between these two, despite initially being enemies, is already there - Uryu wanted to protect Nemu, but instead - Nemu saved Uryu. And the other scene is where Nemu's BEEWBS pretty much suffocated Uryu just so Mayuri can fix up the damaged Uryu from his fight against the Espada. Not only is this fanservice, but of all people - Uryu? Heck, even Uryu & Renji blushed when Mayuri was "fixing" Nemu during their battle with the 8th espada. Now that' hilarious, but it also shows Nemu's usage to not only protect Mayuri's interest, but to Uryu as well. I find this couple cute and I hope to see them more together - former enemies turned allies (for the most part).

So I hope you enjoyed this week's Affinity. Until then, you all stay classy now!

Moka Akashiya vs. Nelliel Tu Odelschwanck (The Other Side of Badassery)

Vs.

Oh Boy! Where to begin? Well, first off - one is the heroine and the other's a love interest. Secondly, one's a vampire and the other a hollow. So these two are different in species, role, and in looks. One has two sides to her vampirish persona (one is innocent and the other badass) & the other was cursed, her adult form reverting back to her child form. So why am I drawing these comparisons? Well even though the transformation of both is different (innocent to Badass & Child to Adult), these two characters have a close attachment to our main heroes (Tsukune & Ichigo) and today we venture forth on the badass sides of their characters while also looking back at their innocent sides.

Moka descends from a vampire family. Her sisters/half-sisters are all vampires, but Moka retains all her vampirish badassery in her amulet (seal). Upon meeting Tsukune, she didn't have any lust for anyone's blood specifically, but that all changed and Moka became instantly attached and attracted to Tsukune. When her amulet (seal or cross) is removed, her hair becomes white, eyes turn red, and she kicks the crap out of anyone who defies her. However, she does have limits and since then, her heritage jeopardizes Tsukune's & his friend's safety - will they survive the Akashiya family line with Alucard loose? Well, Moka is a sweet natured woman, but as time passes - even her violent tempered side seems to take a turn for the better as she opens up to Tsukune - her one true love.

Nelliel is the former 3rd Espada that was demoted/abandoned when fellow comrade, Nnoitra Gilga, the then 5th Espada, cut her mask and she reverted back to her childlike form. Her adult form didn't resurface again until Ichigo was on the verge of death by Nnoitra's hands. Nelliel, at first, was terrified of Ichigo, but as he saw Ichigo's willingness to protect her and defeat the evil Espada, Nelliel took a liking to him. When her adult form resurfaced, she embraced Ichigo much to Orihime's dismay. In her adult form, she has BIG BIG BIG BIG BIG BEEWBS! I mean DAMN! There are A LOT of women in Bleach that I love, but in terms of BEEWBS, Nelliel is up there. She protected Ichigo, saved him, and regards him highly.

Verdict: So in terms of strength, both are strong in their own right. I mean one has to remove an amulet to become a badass, but the other is a different story - her adult-form only being temporarily. I mean the vampire's other half can retain her strength and attitude for a longer period of time. That is Nelliels downfall, it's only temporary. But for Moka, she can go in-n-out just so long as the amulet's removed. Tough decision, but I think Moka clearly is the winner for that reason. That is why, despite Nelliel being incredibly hot, I am giving this victory to:

I hope you enjoyed this week's Fight Night. So who do you think would win in this fight? Moka Akashiya from Rosario + Vampire or Nelliel Tu Odelschwanck from Bleach? Comment below, let me know. Other than that, you all stay classy now!

Throwback #19 - Creeepy!!! (Gin Ichimaru)

Ichimaru Gin, the former lieutenant and 3rd division Captain of the Gotei 13. There seems to be a huge fan base surrounding Gin's character and why shouldn't there be - He's popular amongst the ladies for his look, his deception, & overall his playful nature. To me, Gin is a character that has had the best poker face from start to finish. Even in his dying moments, the poker face was still there. Gin's eyes especially have caught my attention since in its earlier episodes, Gin's eyes were hinted to be red while later on, it appears to be teal. Now I am unsure if the author or the animation behind Bleach wanted to intentionally change his eye colors, but only Tite Kubo knows the true color of Gin's eyes. I believe, in my opinion, red was just an experiment, but his real eyes are teal because the author could've been in deep thought on what Gin's eyes colored should be. So besides his eyes, Gin is playful in which he doesn't seem bothered much. Even with the Gotei 13, he's like a "snake," Rukia explains because he teases a lot, getting under your skin is one of Gin's many talents (his creepyness to be exact). His Zanpaktou abilities are top-notch, but what drew me in with Gin's character is his backstory. So tragic in my opinion, but you had to think what Gin had to go through in order to put on that poker face. He & Rangiku were close, but upon Rangiku's mistreatment by Shinigami, Gin swore to kill the very man behind this abuse - Aizen Sousuke. So for a long time, Gin allied with Aizen to earn his trust - a killer in everyone eyes, but he only sees Aizen as the true killer. Gin's motives had to be towards Aizen or else his act wouldn't have been believable. Not even Kaname was trustworthy enough for Aizen - it was always Gin. Going back to his poker face, Gin, for so long, has been wanting to kill and take down the nefarious Aizen, but alas, even in his dying moments, he couldn't accomplish his vengeance as well as his promise with Rangiku - his friend & possibly only family (not bloodrated, but you get the idea). Gin, even in taking sides, followed his own agenda and it didn't even occur to Aizen that Gin's betrayal would brew a storm - Aizen simply discarded him much like he does with everyone. So Gin upon seeing Ichigo's newfound powers + look - entrusted him to take down Aizen, believing that Ichigo has what it takes just from looking at his eyes.

Even though he's perceived as creepy, Gin was no creepier than the other Shinigami he's encountered or met. Sometimes people do things even if it means going against others - but their agenda is beyond what you'd call evil. Gin, much to everyone's knowledge, has been a good guy (in his own creepy way, but nonetheless a force for good trying to defeat the greater evil by becoming the evil's right-hand). So I hope you enjoyed this week's Throwback. Until then, you all stay classy now!

Death God's Bebop (Track #11) - Never meant to belong

Remember this track? When tragedy strikes, this piece is likely to be played. Is it a happy-go-lucky song? No. Is it a song of nostalgia? Eh. Is it a song that speaks of sadness/tragedy? Absolutely 100% yes. During a tragedy, this song carefully conveys the feelings and emotions of what the character is conveying. For example, Ichigo losing to Renji + Byakuya & Rukia getting pissed at Ichigo for striking at her brother. See, there's tragedy right there because Ichigo failed to rescue Rukia & Ichigo ended up pissing off Rukia in the process. That's what makes this track so powerful - the atmosphere of the song + the scene just makes it all the more believable. Like a puzzle, it has to set right & has to fit the mood. This track + tragedy makes just about any scene in Bleach tragic, heartbreaking, & memorable. This is one of the most beautiful + grim songs I've ever heard. When a song + character + scene fit together, it's a puzzle worth seeing the whole picture.

I hope you enjoyed this week's Death God's Bebop. Until then, you all stay classy now!

WBCR - It's not over (Grade B-)

This week's chapter of Bleach continues off from our previous encounters: Hitsugaya + Rangiku vs Buzz-B & BG9 vs. Omaeda. First off, I knew there was something off with the fight if it was going to leave it at that, but thankfully there is more mayhem to be made by these Stern Ritter. However I will say that the early celebration of Buzz-B's "defeat" is what you'd call - blind luck. They managed to do a little on him, but not enough to stop him. This makes me believes the 10th division is stupid or arrogant enough to believe that teamwork alone can stop just about anyone, but as shown in this chapter - things aren't as they seem to be. Though there's teamwork, there is much more fighting to be done if it is to be a solid victory. So the bantering of winning beforehand and having the upperhand is complete disregard and incompetence on the Shinigami's part. Without knowing the enemy, you can honesty's say the fights from now will be easy. C'mon Shinigami, you must know that when you faced the Arrancars. They have to be smart enough to know a combined effort isn't enough to bring down the enemy's spirit - it's a bloodbath that has yet to reach its climax. As for the other fight, Omaeda is showing genuine concern for his sister's impalement by the Stern Ritter. Angered by this, Omaeda is pissed, speechless, and going on about kicking the enemy's ass. However, Sui-Feng once again comes to save the day with her rendition of Shunkou. I am not going to go in length on what it is, but pretty much it makes just about anyone super strong (like Super Saiyan) and Sui-Feng wiped the floor with the BG9...or so we though. Both Stern Ritters are alive and well which proves my previous point - it's going to be bloodbath and it'll take some time before one falls. So the Sui-Feng rescuing the speechless Omaeda goes without saying, but I will give props for him trying. His sister's condition, however, is probably that she's bound to die or incredibly damaged - the thing that can boost Omaeda's power and anger is the damage that could be done to his family & friends.

Verdict: I am not gonna lie - I excepted a bit more. The supposed victory was cliche and we all knew it wasn't over (If it did, then that was a pretty short fight). I do like Omaeda's serious face over his concern and worrying for Mareyo's safety, but his refusal to comply only shows his tough exterior and loyalty to keeping his mouth shut about his captain's wherabouts - it's merely a poker face used as a distraction for his captain to once again save Omaeda. Omaeda, in this chapter, isn't stupid or funny - he's bent on killing this Stern Ritter, but we all knew in our heads - Sui-Feng to the rescue. As for the other fight, I was expected more elaboration on that rather than assuming he's defeated and the battles will be easy. Don't assume jackasses, know full well that your enemy is just as powerful as you guys. So I'm giving this week a B-, an okay chapter that was a pretty short read, but nonetheless, it continues off from last week's (as it should). Although I ranted on this chapter, it's more set-up. I don't hate this week's chapter, I was just expecting more is all. Until then, you all stay classy now!

+ Omaeda's serious face
+ Sui-Feng's Shunko
+ Buzz-B & BG9's refusal to give into defeat (let the fighting continue)
+ BG9's Weapon (So Badass!)

- Omaeda's poker-face
- The assumption of victory

Grade: B- (Sorry abilities was cut off)

BMW: Sui-Feng's Shunkou

Affinity #12 - The #1 follower, supporter, and fangirl + her crush (Sui-Feng & Yoruichi)

One Affinity I found rather comical, cute, and tragic was the 2nd division (Stealth Forces). The former captain was Yoruichi and now Sui-Feng, a loyal bodyguard, friend, and admirer of her previous captain. The two were rather close, but it was Sui-Feng who was draw in; attaching herself to Yoruichi, treating her like a princess, and having a schoolgirl crush on her old master/mentor. Who wouldn't? Yoruichi is strong, beautiful, kind, playful, and not to mention she's head of the Shihoin Noble Family (one of the 4 Great Noble Families).Yoruichi thought of Sui-Feng as a valuable asset to her division, but Sui-Feng's admiration for Yoruichi was borderline insane. She pretty much is in love with Yoruichi and it became tragic when she departed from Sui-Feng's life. That is why Sui-Feng holds a grudge against Kisuke Urahara. Not only are the two close, but Yoruichi ran away with Kisuke - leaving Sui-Feng alone, betrayed, and broken inside. However, as the two reunite in battle, Sui-Feng bursts into tears and begs the question to Yoruichi - Why didn't you take me you? She would follow Yoruichi wherever she went, but Yoruichi's sudden departure from her life with Kisuke Urahara was too much for Sui-Feng to bear. As a child until her teens, she followed Yoruichi - pretty much went from following orders to borderline worshipping her. That is why she tends to be like a child whenever she's around her former captain much to the captain's thinking that Sui-Feng will always be her friend and bodyguard. Sui-Feng wants it to be more, but Yoruichi, I believe, is unaware or uninterested in Sui-Feng's affection for her. Yoruichi certainly respects Sui-Feng's growth, but in the end - Sui-Feng, despite her fight with her former captain, is in love with Yoruichi - worships, admirers, and follows her.

I hope you enjoyed this week's Affinity. Until then, you all stay classy now!

Choji Akimichi vs. Marechiyo Omaeda (Food Lovers)

Vs.

It's been awhile ladies and gentlemen, but here I am to bring you another installment on Fight Night Mondays. To kick things off, let's begin with the long-awaited Choji from Naruto & Omaeda from Bleach Matchup. Bleach & Naruto, though different, have similarity with characters. You can draw comparisons on both sides, but it's ultimately it's a battle of Ninjas vs. Death Gods. So this week, I took it upon myself to compare two of the franchise's food lovers - Choji Akimichi & Marechiyo Omaeda. Now from the wise words of Star Trek Into Darkness, Shall we begin?

Omaeda is a rich & large man, lieutenant of the 2nd Division, and vice-captain of the Stealth Forces. When he isn't fighting, he's either slacking off, eating, or pissing off his captain, Sui-Feng. His Zanpaktou pretty much is a spiked mace wrecking ball that Omaeda has complete command on either throwing or using it as a shield. He lost to Ichigo easily, but when it comes down to fighting off against Arrancars, he proves he can stand his own ground. However, when it comes to incredible strong opponents like the Espada, he's scared s*hitless and cowers away in fear. Despite his monologue on being a member of the Gotei 13, he is, in my opinion, one of the weakest Vice-Captains of the bunch. He can be brave at times, but it's only a front for Sui-Feng or somebody else to take over. Now, he has to face the Stern Ritter that took Sui-Feng's bankai, but this is skeptical because Sui-Feng could show up anywhere.

Choji is 1/3 of the Ino-Shika-Cho (the other two being Ino & Shikamaru). Despite having a large appetite, he can still pull off on his own fighting strong opponents. With his immense size, much like his clan, he can grow in size and stomp on his opponents using the Akimichi techniques and the food pills. At first, I thought he was gonna be a stick in the mud, but he proved to stand his own ground in both the Naruto anime and its continuity, Naruto Shippuden. Alongside his father, Choji can prove that size does matter and that his opponents better think twice before messing with an Akimichi. When increased size, it increases his power ten-fold. Shikamaru is lazy, but calculative. Ino is bitchy, but caring. And Choji's large, but is the muscles. Each of the Ino-Shika-Cho traits dates back to when their parents were the previous Ino-Shika-Cho (Shikamaru, Ino, & Choji's dads). And now the legacy of the Ino-Shika-Cho continues on with Shikamaru, the brains, Ino, the mind swapper, & Choji - the muscles.

Verdict: I like to say it's an even match, but we all know whose gonna win. He's reliable, strong, and isn't a coward. He may have a huge appetite, but his appetite in saving his friends is more filling. So this goes without saying, the victor goes to -
Why: Omaeda is too cowardly for his own good. He's huge, but has only proven himself to be useful at a couple times. He may have his badass moments, but in the end, there are powerful and stronger Lieutenants than Omaeda. He's Okay, but he has to do a lot more before he can prove me otherwise. Choji I found more likable, relatable, and honestly - a bigger threat than Omaeda's size & comic relief. Choji uses his body as both an offense and defense which I admire because he doesn't beat around the bush. He is incredibly strong, an asset in the war, and a reason why the Ino-Shika-Cho kicks a ton of ass combined.

So who do you think won? Let me know your thoughts by leaving a comment or concern. Until then, you all stay classy now!

Throwback #18 - The Cat (Yoruichi)

Remember this cat? He was alongside our main heroes when invading the Soul Society. This cat remains a mystery until it revealed itself as being a powerful ally to our main heroes. For the longest time, we've been trying to figure out who this cat this, but for me - what gender is the cat? In both the dubbed & subbed, this cat's gender has remained a mystery - was it a girl or a guy? You have to remember, in cartoons, females can have male leads and male leads could have female leads (EX: The voice of Ash from Pokemon). So this cat is no show - it managed to train Orihime & Chad and assist in Ichigo's invasion of the Soul Society using Kukaku Shiba's cannon ball. This cat reveals itself as Yoruichi Shihoin, the former captain of the 2nd division, a noble, and former commander of the Stealth Force. Her departure & defection from Soul Society took place when she allied with Kisuke Urahara in aiding in his experiments. She is smart, playful (at times), resourceful, and prefers using hand-to-hand combat when subduing her opponents. Not only is she strong, she's BEAUTIFUL. Here's a picture of her:

She's quite something ain't she? She is one of my favorite female Anime characters (I'll make a list someday). I like her because she is loyal to Kisuke, helps out Ichigo & his crew, pretty f*cking fast, and has the body that men would die for. I go could on and on, but I must contain myself (LOL).

Well I hope you enjoyed this week's Throwback. I could go on and on and on about her, but she deserves too much praise. I think next to Orihime, she's on my top 10 favorite Bleach females. Until then, you all stay classy!

Death God's Bebop (Track #10) - Tonight, Tonight, Tonight

Even though it's a filler themed opening song, it still gets you excited for what it's store for Bleach. This takes place just after Aizen's defection. Ichigo finds himself facing a new enemy and with this filler arc, it seems only logical to expand the Bleach universe after the events that took place. Though its a filler, it was predictable, slow, and didn't leave an imprint like the other Bleach canon episodes. It's watchable, but just not as action-packed or intriguing as other arcs. I will say though the opening is KICK-ASS! It's a fast-paced song showing nonexistent fight scenes, but aside from that - it's pretty damn catchy. This J-Rock group is the same band that covered the 8th Bleach ending (I assume). What I like about it is when the Captains & Lieutenants are portrayed outside of the Soul Society - you don't see that animated everyday. As for Bounts, I like the designs, but the powers are flaws, uninteresting, and are, no offensive, weak against the Aizen & the upcoming Espada. So I like the opening and despite my rant on not having a keen interest in the Bount arc, I will say go watch it for yourself - it's Bleach nonetheless, but it only makes you want to watch more of Ichigo kicking Aizen's ass.

I hope you enjoyed this week's Death God's Bebop + mini rant on Bount Arc (For those of you into this arc, I hold nothing against you - it's my personal opinion).  Until then, you all stay classy now!

WBCR - Ice & Ash (Grade B)

So this week's chapter of Bleach was relatively short, came our early, and honestly has two things that happened. The first is 2nd division Lieutenant, Marechiyo, wonders where his captain is and sees Seireitei at it's dire state. As he promises to protect his sister & friends from the enemy, the Stern Ritter, BG9 appears - the one responsible for stealing Sui-Feng's Bankai. Secondly, Toshiro & Rangiku vs. Bazz-B, a clash of ice vs fire. In a nutshell, BG9 appears & Bazz-B is defeated with the combined powers of Toshiro's ice & Rangiku's ash. By combining their powers that are capable of making it impossible to burn down the layers of ice, Bazz-B is struck down by Toshiro & Rangiku's teamwork. This is a pretty short, simple, and alright chapter, but there's one component that stole the show - the development of Toshiro & Rangiku's teamwork. Rangiku, comically irritating Toshiro to no end, finds it rather cute that Toshiro is relying on her. This brings back to when the two first met and how Rangiku assumed she'd be captain and Toshiro her lieutenant. Their teamwork shows an increase in their friendship as well as their development as Captain & Lieutenant. Rangiku, in my opinion, has quite a lot of potential seeing that she's been a Shinigami longer than Toshiro, but the faces she makes, the face Hitsugaya makes, and the overall teamwork - it's improved and the level of trust is there as well. Bazz-B was too cocky, believing Toshiro's ice wasn't a match for his fire. However, I am unsure on whether or not this is the end for Bazz-B and if it is, then Imma smack my head, say WTF, and sigh at the disbelief that a potential Grimmjow-like character was beaten down so easily without much of a fight. Overall, I like the chapter primarily for Toshiro & Rangiku's teamwork, but there's big shoes to fill if that fight really is over or if it's just beginning. Here are the positives & negatives of this chapter.

+ The development of Rangiku & Toshiro's teamwork improves
+ The face Rangiku & Toshiro make towards another
+ Marechiyo's "seriousness"

- Too short of a fight + chapter

Affinity #11 - The 11 Shenanigans (Yachiru, Ikkaku, & Yumichika)

Squad 11 is by far the most badass division there is in the Soul Society. This division not only is fun to watch & read, but when it comes down to it, they live and die for the fight. They have one of the most strongest & dangerous captains, a well-trained 3rd seat, a reliable/deceptive 5th seat, and a little girl lieutenant who loves sweets & making nicknames for people she meets. Together, these 4 make a formidable division alongside their army of fighter lovers. Yachiru, the lieutenant of the 11th Division, is fond of causing misery to Ikkaku & Yumichika - much to their dislike of Yachiru's pranks. This brings comedy to Bleach, a delicate balance of comedy & action can best exemplify this division. Yachiru, despite being little, is no child - she is threatening, sweet, childish, & at times sentimental. Put that with Ikkaku & Yumichika - it's pretty much the three stooges with a bald guy, a deceptive guy, and a little girl. Their chemistry, despite Yachiru's pranks, is hit-n-miss, but Ikkaku & Yumichika know that Yachiru is their lieutenant as well as their commanding officer if Kenpachi Zaraki isn't around. They all care for one another, but when it comes down to it - Yachiru LOVES to start trouble. Here's an example of Yachiru & Ikkaku:

That is pretty funny since Ikkaku's reaction to Yachiru's sudden attack on his bald shiny head is like...WTF (LOL). Overall, the chemistry of the 11th division is strong. Like a family, they care and laugh with one another, even if Yachiru is the one doing all the laughing. Like a well-oiled machine, when the going gets tough, the tough gets going. Well I hope you enjoyed this week's Affinity & until then, you all stay classy now!

P.S. I'm well aware of Bleach being released early. To keep with the schedule, the WBCR will be released as soon as I wake up tomorrow morning.

Throwback #17 - My Badass moment....ruined

In the 63rd episode of Bleach, Renji and Byakuya have a captain + lieutenant moment until.....Ichigo interrupts. Renji was just about to say something memorable to his captain, but loss his train of thought once Ichigo came bursting out of nowhere. Renji was ticked, but Ichigo didn't know. This is one of those rare occurrences where the comedy in Bleach is a LMFAO moment. Renji respects and dislikes his Captain, but what he was gonna say could've had an impact on Byakuya, but nope - Ichigo came from nowhere to inform them of Rukia's disappearance again. Renji is a funny funny guy when he needs to be, but in this case - I found him hilarious because of the face he makes, the way he is so ticked off despite Ichigo being unaware of what he was about to say, and Ichigo's trolling overall ruined Renji's possible chances to be a badass to Byakuya. The moment in this was ruined and it became a comedy mark in Bleach. This happens in both the manga and anime. It's a very funny scene and to be fair, it showcases Renji & Ichigo's growing friendship and Byakuya's acceptance of Ichigo's shenanigans. This scene showcases Renji's ability to be mature towards his Captain and Ichigo's trolling just adds to the comedy - it's unexpected, it's so Ichigo, and it has an impact on the other characters. I like this episode because even after Aizen's defection, the Soul Society has come to accept Ichigo & his friends - there can still be laughs and smiles found after the turmoil.

I hope you enjoyed this week's Throwback. Until then, you all stay classy now. I will be posting something tomorrow on my posts.

Death God's Bebop (Track #9) - A Requiem

Remember this piece? It's a song of nostalgia - thinking about the scope of something you may or may not yet realize, but the thought is there. The realization of something that is beyond minimal, the weight of it all is beyond measurable. Like a burden that is shouldered by one person and eventually is carried by others to help lighten the weight. This song depicts realization in the sense of something big. When a character realized something, there are ways to approach it and when approaching it from an angle, it can either go right, wrong, or in between. A requiem relates to those who have loss their lives - Bleach has a way of portraying music in accordance in certain scenarios & characters that just fits the mood. When remembering something, coming to a realization, or thinking about lost souls - this song comes to mind. It's a great way to story-tell and build the tension of the scene when fitting music is being played at this given moment of time. I think it's classic song that depicts a franchise's ability to blend music and emotion together to create atmosphere, emotion, and build-up - these moments are what define Bleach not only of the characters and actions, but of the music behind it.

Well I hope you enjoyed this week's Death God's Bebop. Until then, you all stay classy now!

Bleach Segment Fridays (#9) - One Step Ahead

This week's Segment will have to be Mayuri. Of all the captains, I find Mayuri to be the most creepy, eerie, and crazy of them all. A genius no doubt, Mayuri is always one step ahead - being able to prevent shadows from entering his premises. As you can see in the picture, he is prepared for things, even worst case scenarios. The Brawl is just beginning & Mayuri knows about the Vandenreich's invasion. Seen before the hiatus, Mayuri knew what he was doing and what could be done to ensure that he's safe, but everyone is pretty much screwed. What makes Mayuri a fascinating character isn't just his brilliance, but rather he's someone who you wouldn't want to F with big time. A eerie figure that somehow you want to be on your side. You want this mad scientist to be your ally, but at the same time you start to question whether he's a genius or he's just plain crazy. He could at one point look out for himself & Nemu, but could disregard the rest of his fellow Captains and insistently refer to them as "fools." He could be considered a clown, but then again - he is so smart, deductive, and ahead of the game - he's a clown worth not to F with. So Mayuri, despite being smart & eerie, stole the show in this chapter - showcasing how he knew and he was prepared for it. And now the brawl ensues with Mayuri without question - plotting his next move as he faces off against the Stern Ritter in the 12th division barracks.

So I hope you enjoyed my Bleach Friday Segment. Until then, you all stay classy now

P.S. I will be making a poll or statement on something relating to Bleach.

Recollection #9 (Episodes 17-18)

Ichigo Dies! (17) - As we left off in the last episode, Ichigo meets his match when Shinigami Renji Abarai & Captain Byakuya Kuchiki come to Karakura Town to take Rukia back to the Soul Society for her crimes. This angers Ichigo, but Ichigo is powerless against these two Captain-class Shinigami. Ichigo has been fighting hollows, but Shinigami was a whole other level apart from Ichigo's expectations. Rukia doesn't want Ichigo to die, but also doesn't want him to rescue her either. The aftermath of this ends with Ichigo gravely wounded by both Shinigami, Ichigo doing minimal damage to Renji, Rukia pissed at Ichigo for attacking her brother, Byakuya, and Ichigo's failure in stopping Rukia's escape. I personally like this episode because it develops Ichigo's character as he is willing to train with Urahara in just 10 days, enter the Soul Society, and get Rukia back. Ichigo's life changed because of Rukia just as Rukia's life is changed because of Ichigo - meaning that they value each other's lives, but due to Rukia's upbringing in the Kuchiki Clan and Ichigo's personality, it didn't quite last long considering Rukia's prolonged stay in Karakura Town was likely to end in trouble. Rukia's powers being given to Ichigo is the crime and Rukia has to pay for it, but Ichigo is willing to step his game up, beat all the Shinigami, and rescue Rukia before things turn for the worst. So this is Ichigo's world - inspired and changed by Rukia.

Reclaim! The Power of the Shinigami (18) - Ichigo's training begins, but it isn't what you'd call a walk in the park. Urahara and his ragtag team of assistants do everything in their path to ensure that Ichigo's training is unforgiving, relentless, and a pain. By severing Ichigo's chain of fate, Ichigo is likelt to turn in a hollow - meaning it's a test for Ichigo to overcome this obstacle or he truly will be killed by Urahara and his team. This puts pressure on Ichigo considering how he is weak compared to other Shinigami, but at the same time it just means that it'll be worth it once he overcomes the chain of fate's devouring of itself. Meanwhile, Orihime & Chad have plans on their own in recruiting Uryu to help assist in Ichigo's plan to rescue Rukia Kuchiki. However, Uryu doesn't wish to get alongside someone who he sees as an enemy - it's both an insult to one's self and of one's pride. Rukia is also seen in jail, but takes her stay behind bars quite comically as she teases her friend and kidnapper Renji. Ichigo's steps in training just prove Urahara is willing to go to ensure Ichigo will become stronger - even if it means endangering Ichigo's very being. The first step was just the beginning, but with the chain of fate severed - Ichigo has hours before he completely turns into a hollow and is done for. Yoruichi, a cat who works alongside Urahara, helps Orihime & Chad develop their potential, but with everyone training in their own right - Ichigo w/ Urahara, Orihime & chad w/Yoruichi, and Uryu by himself - will team Ichigo prevail? Personally this episode is once again developing Ichigo's potential, but it isn't as easy as it seems. He is struggling, but willing. He is tired, but can't rest. He is angry, but knows this is what's best. As for the rest they have to ponder about on their next move - helping Ichigo is their priority, but are they strong enough for what's to come?

I hope you enjoyed this week's Recollection post. Until then, you all stay classy now!

WBCR - IT RETURNS! (Grade A)

IT RETURNS! After a long hiatus, bleach returns and here I am to let you know my thoughts on this week's new and anticipated returning chapter. So as we know, Seireitei has been invaded by the Vandenreich, meaning the Shinigami are s*it outta luck. It's only a matter of time before the Brawl takes place with Juha Bach's right-hand man, Jugram Haschwalth, facing the newly-appointed 1st Division Captain, Shunsui Kyoraku. Akon's division (12th division) is investigating how the Vandenreich easily invaded Seireitei and it appears that the Vandenreich has appeared from the shadows. As I know, the Vandenreich have been pretty much above Soul Society's shoulders - that's at least what I got from it. That was how they were able to invade so easily, they were already there to begin with. The Vandenreich is referred to as the Invisible Empire, meaning that when they appear from the shadows, it's pretty much from Soul Society's reishi that they've accumulated over time (I think I read that right). However, Mayuri, being smart and weird as f*ck, knew of this and made sure no shadows reached his room/premises. I mean did you see Mayuri in this chapter - it is beyond jaw-dropping. I was like Dafuq, but then again it's Mayuri (Lol). This chapter ends with Buzzbee setting fire on some Shinigami before Hitsugaya & Rangiku show up to for the fight. Overall, this is a pretty good start for the long awaited Bleach and it just comes to show how epic this last and unfortunate final arc will be. The brawl with Shinigami, Quincy, Visored, Fullbringers, & Ichigo. I can't wait to see what'll come next in the future Bleach chapters, but I do know one thing - it'll be LEGEN-wait for it. With Ichigo's duel-wielding Zanpaktou, it's only a matter of time before he shows up, kick ass, and the Soul Society joins him in this bloodbath. Oh yeah, DARY! Until then, you all stay classy now! WELCOME BACK BLEACH! WE MISSED YOU!

Affinity #10 - Shiba Siblings

The Shiba Clan is more important than you know, but in the very beginning - there were 3 Shiba clan members introduced: Kaien, Kukaku, & Ganju. Today we will be talking about Kukaku & Ganju, the two Shiba clan members that first met & helped out Ichigo in his attempts to thwart Rukia's execution from taking place. In the first place, Kukaku and Ganju made it possible for Ichigo and his crew to enter the Soul Society. However, the problem at first was Ichigo and Ganju's comedic rivalry. Ganju detests Shinigami, but somehow Ichigo found acceptance later on. Kukaku was eager to help out Ichigo & his group despite Ganju's foolishness - meaning Kukaku probably knew who Ichigo was before they even met - dating back to Isshin's time. However this has yet to be resolved as Isshin doesn't go by the Shiba surname anymore, leaving me to suspect that Kukaku & Ganju may know of Isshin's marriage to Quincy, Masaki Kurosaki. That is only speculation, but I'm straying from what I was talking about. Kukaku is a beauty and is with Ganju's assistance, Ichigo found his way to the Soul Society encountering various enemies. These two are close, Kukaku fearing for Ganju's life and for me personally - Ganju is pretty weak. He is seen with the Fullbringers earlier, but we have to see what he is capable of, but we do know he is buffed up. I want to see more of the Shiba clan later on as they play a role in Ichigo's life and his resemblance to Kaien Shiba.

I hope you enjoyed today's Affinity post. Be sure to send me emails on your match ups. Until then, you all stay classy now!

Throwback #16 - You're just a kid! (Karin X Toshiro)

Ah remember this scene in Bleach? Karin said he's just an elementary student, but is actually captain level and has a lieutenant under his command. This episode is nonetheless a filler, but what makes it stand out is the relationship between Karin and Toshiro, both whom are fond of soccer and of each other. Toshiro, while staying in the world of the living, has to adjust just like everyone else, but upon meeting Karin - he and Karin instantly became friends. Toshiro's soccer skills are unmatched and with that beign said, Karin made her move. It's unclear whether fans believe Toshiro X Karin is a good affinity, but I will say it's a cute one. I mean in this episode, Karin finds out Toshiro is a Shinigami much like her brother. Knowing this, Karin begs Toshiro to tell her if he knows Ichigo Kurosaki, her brother. Ichigo is out there protecting those he cares about, reassuring Karin that Ichigo is alright and well. However, what made this episode stand out was the picture. Karin teases Toshiro, praising and insulting him at the same time. Toshiro may be a captain-class Shinigami, but that doesn't stop Karin from referring to him as a "elementary student." This angers Toshiro because, much like some characters in the series, they look down on Toshiro just because of his age, height, and that he's a prodigy. Rangiku is laughing her ass off while Toshiro retaliates by saying he isn't a elementary student. Personally, I like the Karin X Toshiro affinity (may make an Affinity post about it later) and that scene in that filler episode - priceless.

Well I hope you enjoyed today's Throwback. Until then, you all stay classy now!
