Death God's Bebop (Track #8) - Ichirin No Hana

This kickass opening goes without saying - its Kick-Ass! The third opening of Bleach, furthering the deceit and deception of the Gotei 13 as they wage war against the Ryoka while Aizen's schemes come to place. The execution nears, but Ichigo and his friends fight on. At the same time, Aizen, Gin, & Tousen are planning their deceit, using the Ryokas invasion as a cover-up for their schemes to get the Hyogoku from Rukia. So this clearly is a Japanese metal band and it'll be one of the few times where I will admit, it's catchy as hell. I mean it shows our heroes kicking ass, Ichigo vs. Byakuya especially, and Ichigo's hollow surfacing. Things are heating up and for the better - it's gonna be legen-DARY! The atmosphere of the opening is adrenaline-rushing, so badass that you just can't wait for the plot to thicken - to unfold more of what's to come from the Ryoka invasion + Aizen's defection. The amount of kick-ass this opening has is just over 9000! (LOL)

Recollection #8 (Episodes 15-16)

Kon's Great Plan (15) - There's nothing like a filler to fill in the episode after Ichigo and Uryu's battle against the horde of Hollows. Ichigo and Uryu end on neutral terms, but it doesn't necessarily mean that both are friends either. So this episode is all about Kon as he tries to run away from the Kurosaki clinic. Being stuck in a stuffed teddy bear, it's no wonder Kon is bullied by pretty much everyone. Well, he's had it and as such, shenanigans ensue. This leaves Bleach to have its fair share of filler episodes, but to me - it doesn't progress the episode or arc much. The only fulfilling scene in this episode was Rukia's departure, knowing it's too risky to continue staying in Karakura town. That's pretty much it. There's some comedy revolving around Kon's departure, Uryu has lunch with Ichigo much to his friend's confusion, and Rukia leaving behind a note of her departure. I am not a big fan of filler episodes and the only part I liked was the end, symbolizing Rukia's halcyon days are about to come to an end. It awaits Ichigo's biggest threat and what will become the stepping stones for Ichigo's growth as a character.

The Encounter, Abarai Renji (16) - This is where I can start saying Bleach is making a turn for the AWESOME! Rukia's over-welcomed stay in Karakura Town causs the 6th division captain & older brother, Byakuya Kuchiki, and his lieutenant & Rukia's old friend, Renji Abarai, to take back Rukia for her sentencing. Ichigo, knowing this, tries to save Rukia, despite Rukia's note warning him to stay away. Kon, having known this, breaks the news to Ichigo, but in the meantime - Uryu encounters these Shinigami and tries to save Rukia, but to no avail. It wouldn't be long before Ichigo figures it out and encounters these two. These weren't what you'd call normal enemies. They were bent on taking Rukia back to the Soul Society for her crimes, but Ichigo didn't like that one bit. Ichigo and Renji battle it out, but Renji's Zanpaktou proved too much for Ichigo's experience and inability to call his Zanpaktou. The episode ends in a cliffhanger, where Renji did a number on Ichigo. This episode showcases Ichigo's over-estimation of his opponent and how he will have to step his game up if he wants to save Rukia and prevent the Shinigami from taking her back to the Soul Society. What will happen to our hero now that he's battling two other Shinigami who are bent on taking Rukia back to be punished for her stay in Karakura Town? Tune in next week to find out.

Affinity #9 - Blind & Loyal (Tousen & Hisagi)

The 9th division captain, Tousen Kaname, was once a man who is dutiful is delivering justice to the Soul Society. Alongside him was Hisagi, a man who learned of the ways of the Shinigami - learning to adapt to situations, knowing the enemy, and knowing true fear. So it's no question that Hisagi held Tousen at such high regard, but after Tousen's defection with Aizen and Gin, there was hole left in Hisagi's heart on what to do next. The very man who taught him is the very man he will later slay, but the relationship between Captain & Lieutenant isn't strictly based on rank, but rather a connection - a understanding that each has each other's backs. Hisagi, driven by Tousen's words, is a dutiful Shinigami, but put that with a captain whose words meant something now become conflicted and blurred - it's as if his words became twisted. Tousen's views differed from Hisagi's, but Hisagi thought they were under the same page. Their ideals differ, but Hisagi wouldn't just abandon Tousen's principles, which would later be proven wrongly as Tousen's twists the very words that he said to Hisagi to accommodate his very reasoning behind his defection. Hisagi would slay his captain, but in the very last moments - the understanding of Captain & Lieutenant is shattered when Aizen's schemes destroyed what could've been - a strong 9th division. So these two are the deliverers of justice, but due to differences in their ideals and Aizen's intervention of Tousen's beliefs - it created a rift in their camaraderie.

Well that's all that can be said about the 9th division, but Hisagi now is under the leadership of Kensei, his idol. He must know go further beyond Tousen's words in order to redeem himself as a man of justice as well as a man pursuing a camaraderie with Kensei Mugurama & Lieutenant 2 Mashiro Kuna. Fight Night Brawl! Announcement (8/26/13)

As you know, I like bringing in new material for my blog in order to add more variety. I like posting my thoughts, opinions, and questions on Bleach where you, the audience, are more than welcome in replying/responding on any issue or criticism you may have about what I've written. On Mondays, I've went on about Fight Nights, comparing a character from another franchise to Bleach. Most of you may know that the Bleach character always wins. I am not by any means bias on the other series, I just pinpoint and attack strengths and weaknesses on both sides, thinking from a perspective standpoint from having had watched both series (EX: Bleach vs. Dragon Ball Z). There will be times where I'll make an error or two here and there, but let me point something - it's strictly opinionated, no bias intended. So I apologize on behalf of my errors or mistakes regarding facts, misspellings, etc. Now onto the announcement

Starting 9/02/13 - I will be hosting a Fight Night Brawl where YOU, the audience, will have the opportunity to have your opinions posted on my blog. Regarding what is this brawl - I want you, the audience, to send me an email to bleachmuzik101@yahoo.com on your thoughts on a particular matchup between a Bleach character and character from another franchise. I want YOUR opinions because they matter, we're all friends here - no need for tension. The first ones to post their matchup, I want you to give me reasons on why and I will personally post it for everyone to see. You will need to send it to my email.

Throwback #15 - Drinking away my troubles (Rangiku Matsumoto)

As you all know, Rangiku Matsumoto LOVES drinking. So a recurring theme for Matsumoto's character is that she drinks alongside her friends. In this picture, you can clearly see Matsumoto and her Zanpakyou's manifestation, Haineko, drinking and having a fun time. I mean, she drinks excessively in order to forget or to have fun. When Gin defected, Rangiku drank alongside Kira in order to forget about Ichimaru. She is drinking buddies with Hisagi, Kira, and Ikkaku. Although this isn't pivotal in the show, it's a hobby and interest of Rangiku, developing her character a little bit. The smallest things develops a character. Possibly she drinks in order to forget her previous life before becoming a Shinigami, with Gin being her only friend. I mean Rangiku lived a pretty terrible life, but when she became a Shinigami - it didn't get easier. Gin's defection and her captain's constant bickering, it's no wonder Rangiku drinks. Other than that, there's not much to say. Until then, you all stay classy and look for tomorrow's Fight Night Monday.

Death God's Bebop (Track #7) - Going Home

One of, if not, the most famous tracks in all of Bleach is Shiro Sagisu's Going Home track. Though short, those 2 minutes will make you recall why Bleach music is memorable, melodic, and above all else - nostalgic. Those Bleach memories from episode 1 to end, I can't recall a track like this that is just considered so soothing. It's one of those tracks you listen to on a rainy day - thinking back on your childhood, reevaluating your outlook on life, and remembering the laughs you shared. It also is a track you listen to when gathering your thoughts, coming to a realization that there's more to life than we know. It can be symbolized as a good or bad atmospheric track, but to me - it's one of those memorable songs that personifies Bleach's tone and theme.

1) When Ichigo holds back his tears upon his mother's death, Ichigo's family reassures him that not crying is weakness and that it isn't the same if Ichigo cried with them - so he join his family in mourning their mother's death in remembrance to her.

2) When Ichigo and Rukia part after Rukia decides to stay in the Soul Society after Aizen's defection

3) When Ichigo burst into tears and rage when Grand Fisher got away and Rukia had to hold Ichigo back (I think it was played during this)

4) Aizen and Hinamori embracing just before Aizen impales her

So as you can see, this song's been played to fit the tone, mood, and atmosphere of a moment - like watching nostalgia before you. It's one of my favorite tracks of Bleach (I'll make a list soon) - the calmness of it is all too damn high! (LOL). The acoustics in this song are just phenomenal - so many people on Youtube covering this beautiful track. To me, it's a track that sets the mood and tone of a scenario - always the right timing (well maybe Aizen impaling Hinamori is over the top). Recollection #7 (Episodes 13-14)

Flower and Hollow (13) - As Ichigo and Uryu continue their competition to kill the most hollow and determine who is the better species - Shinigami or Quincy, Chad and Orihime, Ichigo's friends, discover that they are beyond normal as they uncover their powers. In the previous episode, Chad's power was shown and in this episode, it's Orihime's. She demonstrates her will to fight when a hollow by the name Numb Chandelier attacks their school. Orihime's Shun Shun Rikka emerge as they help out Orihime in defeating this hollow while keeping her friends out of harm's way. Tatsuki, Orihime's friend, turns against her when the hollow's ability is manipulating people into doing the hollow's doing. Orihime's determination to save her friends and eliminate this threat is clearly present in this episode as her character, though clumsy and weird, is growing and developing due to Ichigo's influence on her. Orihime's power allows to shoot projectiles, project force fields, and healing - all used in order to subdue Numb Chandelier. I like this episode because it showcases how Ichigo's development as a Shinigami has rubbed off on our, at first, unlikely heroes, but it soon became apparent that, like Chad, Orihime isn't a normal human being - she's special, unique, and all gift-wrapped with a big amount of badass. This episode is uncovering Ichigo's spiritual awareness on Orihime (previous episode Chad) and Orihime's development as a character. In the end, Chad and Orihime are introduced to the world beyond normality as Urahara guides them on Ichigo's journey, hollows, and the world known as the Soul Society.

Back to Back, a Fight to the Death! (14) - Continuing off from our last episode, Ichigo and Uryu continue their grudge match until Uryu, using the remaining hollow bait, unleashes a Meno Grande, a huge-ass hollow that is about 5-10x stronger than an average hollow. Uryu, clearly taking advantage of this challenge, sees it as a way to prove he is better, but this angers Ichigo as he is sworn to protecting the world of the living - Uryu not doing that at the moment, putting lives at risk as a form of competition much to Ichigo's dismay. This Menos Grande is the center of the episode as both unlikely heroes must find a way to subdue this creature before it tears them and the human world apart. As they conjure up a strategy, Ichigo, clearly being opposite Uryu, is uninterested in Uryu's methods and does it the "Ichigo" way. Much to Uryu's surprise, it works, but does considerable damage to Ichigo and his reiatsu. The Menos fires a red blast known as a Cero, a burst of energy capable of much collateral damage. However, this doesn't stop Ichigo one bit as he tries to reflect it back with all his strength and before you know it, he won, but almost died with Uryu having to assist. In the end, Uryu apologizes and explains to Ichigo his grandfather, the influence of Quincy on Uryu and his dislike of the Shinigami. This episode showcases Uryu's development and how their rivalry only put innocent people at risk, not considering the damage done and that his actions had consequences (the release of the Menos). So I like where these episodes are going - the development of Ichigo's "group" as they uncover the mysteries of uncharted territories apart from their normal lives.

Affinity #8 - ByaRuki (Rukia & Byakuya)

The most famous brother-sister duo in all of Bleach, the Kuchiki(s) - Byakuya and Rukia. If it weren't for Rukia, we wouldn't have bleach and if it weren't for Byakuya, Ichigo's visored powers wouldn't be relevant. So now, why do I hold this affinity at such high regard? Well, its simple - these two are badasses. From Rukia's Sode no Shirayuki to Byakuya's Senbonzakura, their Zanpaktou's power isn't something you'd want to F with. Ice and a million or more blades too hard to grasp, the brother and sister's spiritual powers and variety of attacks make them unique Shinigami and apart on their own level. Both were able to defeat an Espada, both suck at drawing/sand sculpting, and both hold Ichigo to high regard. Rukia is Byakuya's wife's little sister. This is why Rukia and Hisana, her elder sister, look quite alike. Here is the two side by side (or in this case up and down) -

See the difference? Well there is one difference, the bangs from their hair. Rukia has one and Hisana 2. Now that we got that out of the way, what makes this brother-sister duo so strong is their loyalty, love, and respect for one another. Byakuya was seen first as the enemy, disregarding his own bias and allowing justice to be served to Rukia. This makes Ichigo's character stand in the way between the two and why it has brought the siblings closer together. Thanks to Ichigo, Byakuya revealed the truth behind Rukia's adoption into the Kuchiki clan, her similarity and discovery of Hisana Kuchiki, and aiding in all of the battles we've seen to date. Byakuya even pointed out that when Zommari pointed his blade at Rukia, it was pointing at Byakuya's pride. To which I say, these two siblings have each other's backs and are important to the Bleach universe with their badass Zanpaktou, personality, and sucky at drawing and sculpting. Nobunaga Oda vs. Baraggan Louisenbairn (King of Kings)

VS.

The Demon King vs. The King of Hollows, a noteworthy matchup considering they're both badasses, kings, and are formidable opponents. Nobunaga is a historical daimyo, but I'm not here to give history lessons - we're talking about Nobunaga Oda's depiction in Capcom's videogame series turned anime - Sengoku Basara. Now, these two are two of my awesome villains in their respective animes, but who truly is more threatening than the other? Bleach is an ongoing series that has a huge fan-base whereas Sengoku Basara is a videogame franchise that isn't what you'd call an accurate depiction or even a realistic depiction of the Sengoku period. So with that being said, the two similarities with the series are two if its antagonists - Nobunaga Oda and Baraggan Loisenbairn. So let's dive in, shall we - 

Characters: Nobunaga Oda is a famous Japan Daimyo who is, in Sengoku Basara, the Demon King. He strikes fear in the hearts of his enemies and isn't afraid to do what is necessary to expand his rule throughout Japan. In the very first episodes of SB, he kills Yoshimoto Imagawa by shooting him with his shotgun in the face, striking fear in Masamune and Yukimura's hearts. He is evil incarnate and is everyone's enemy in SB, but what makes him so intimidating? Well he wields a sword and shotgun, has a army at his disposal to do bad, and has subordinates (Mitsuhide, Ranmaru, and Noh) without question kill people. As seen again the first few episodes of SB, Nobunaga's subordinates without mercy kill the Imagawa imposters in the most cruelest way - arrow through the head and the shot in the face with a pistol. Nobunaga also doesn't think twice on things, berating his brother-in-law (Nagamaza Azai) to attack his ally (The Asakura) or else he'll kill his wife (Oichi, sister of Nobunaga). Threatening, immovable, and loving every minute of it - Nobunaga is the personification of evil in the Sengoku period in SB. 

Baraggan Louisenbairn is King of the hollows or in this case, Hueco Mundo. All was well and boring until Aizen Sousuke arrived. What makes Baraggan interesting is his design, but other than that - he was immediately in a corner when Aizen took control. He found nothing appealing in his rule and that's the price of what happens when Kings have nothing better to do than watch his men fight to the death. As the 2nd Espada, he is at the top of his league, but at the same time he regrets Aizen's intimidation on him from the start. With new power, Baraggan eventually found himself unequal as he isn't the strongest Espada and is killed. With that in mind, Baraggan was a lonesome king with nothing to stand for except being the ruler of the desolate Hueco Mundo. As seen in episodes of Bleach and in the manga, he doesn't tolerate failure and strikes fear in the hearts of Sui-Feng and Marechiyo. He, however, embodies an aspect of death that is all too familiar - time. With just a touch, Sui-feng's bones aged. And in Baraggan's final form, it's pretty much the Grim Reaper with a Crown. To put it in perspective, Baraggan is a Shinigami (Death God). 

Verdict: This was pretty quick since they really don't have much of a backstory explained in the anime. We just know Baraggan was King of Hueco Mundo and Nobunaga was the Demon King wanting to expand his rule. So in terms of power, Baraggan clearly has time on his side, being able to advance time on anybody (aka Sui-feng's arm). Nobunaga is more straight forward - possessing demonic powers with a sword and shotgun, but not much else. This is why Baraggan has an advantage despite his rather uninteresting backstory. He has no motive, but then again, he is more intimidating because he can kill people just by touching them. It's not a matter of whose more threatening or who is more demonic - it's the aspect of death embodying them and what they do to their enemies. They both strike fear in the hearts of man (in Bleach's case, Shinigami) and it's unfortunate to judge it so quickly, but the true victor of this battle would have to - Baraggan Louisenbairn

So I know this was pretty short and straight to the point, but I'm telling the truth hear. I think Nobunaga in SB is pretty kickass, but when you put him on par with say, a guy who can break your bones just by tapping your shoulder - it's pretty obvious who would win. Sorry Demon King, but the King of Hollows would without question be the victor of this fight. So who you think won? Throwback #14 - Zabimaru (Omake)

Remember this beautiful piece? Well, to be honest, it wasn't pivotal in Bleach, it was a little short after an episode. This is a little short where Renji wonders if it were possible to swap Zabimaru's gender to which Mayuri says it's possible and shows a picture of what it would potentially look like (1st picture). I mean when I saw this, I didn't much on it at all because it's a short and it has no relevance to the story other than to further a little development and comic relief to the character outside of the storyline. I mean with characters, they have to have layers. Renji wanting to see if Zabimaru could be a woman with hot tits is no surprise, but like I said, it does little and only is relevant to the character's development on the side. So allow me to show you two interesting pictures about Zabimaru that tie in with the anime and filler. Above (1st picture) is from the Omake (or what I'd like to call little short). Here's Zabimaru in the anime + manga as it is shown:

That's pretty badass, right? I mean a monkey with a snake tail is a pretty epic design for Zabimaru and to be honest, I was surprised that his form is just as badass as Ichigo's "Zangetsu." He is a great design, has a menacing voice, and want to challenge "Zangetsu" again. I'm going to say this off topic, but monkeys are awesome. And when you have a white monkey with a snake tail that can talk and can taken on the form of a sword - who wouldn't that? It's just badass from the way he looks to the way he sounds. Now here's the weird thing, this is Zabimaru in the anime + manga, but the Omake is a what-if scenario and to be honest, I think the what-if-scenario turned out to be this:

DAMN! What happened? Well here is my thought. The filler arc introduces Shinigami's Zanpaktou turning against their owners. These are complete designs for filler made Zanpaktou manifestations. This just happens to be Zabimaru if were a she w/a male tail. Like the omake, it's pretty much the inspiration in my opinion. The omake inspired Renji's Zabimaru to discard the cool ass design of an albino monkey with a snake tail to a hot humanoid monkey chick with tits w/a male snake tail. That, in my opinion, is still f'ing awesome and pretty damn hot. The downside is the voice, not girly at all. So this is what I got from it all

1) The Omake depicts Zabimaru as a human (female)
2) Zabimaru (in the anime & manga) is an albino monkey with a snake head as its tail
3) Put these two in a blender and you have Zabimaru with tits and an annoying tail.

Recollection #6 (Episodes 11-12)

The Legendary Quincy (11) & A Gentle Right Arm (12)  - As we all know, Ichigo is a badass and wants to continue on as a Shinigami after his scuffle with Grand Fisher. His resolve becomes clearer as he wants to be a Shinigami while still balancing out his daily life. However, he learns more of the Shinigami more and more and learns of another student in his class who just happens to bear a grudge on Shinigami. Meet Uryu Ishida, the so-called last quincy is both strong and smart compared to Ichigo. He sensed he is a Shinigami, demonstrating the ribbon tactic. He is also good at fixing things, like Kon. So Ichigo and Uryu have a bad start and to further add fuel to the fire, they have a competition where Uryu instigates a hollow frenzy. By luring out hollows with bait, a bunch come out and whoever can kill the most is obviously the winner. However, Uryu's constant bickering of Ichigo's status as substitute only pisses Ichigo off more, showcasing that Ichigo wants to win just as much as Uryu does. Just as the battle begins, Rukia pays a visit to Urahara and a backstory of Quincies are revealed. In a nutshell, Shinigami cleanse hollows and Quincy kill em.' So the only logical way to stop is to commit genocide on the Quincy, starting a rivalry between both. Overall, I like the start of this rivalry and digs in deep on Uryu's dislike of Ichigo. You know why and placing all bets on this challenge - it could determine it all, for better or the worst.

The battle goes on as the challenge heats up and Ichigo's getting pissed. All these hollows want it and Uryu is treating it as a game whereas innocent souls could potentially get killed. Meanwhile, Orihime's and Chad's powers and knowledge of hollows are surfacing. The focus is one two things - Chad's new arm and the rivalry. Ichigo is a protector, but Uryu wants to prove fraud on his part. That is why Uryu doesn't mind putting others in danger to prove a point, but Ichigo is tired of the shenanigans and wants to end things before something really bad happens. On the other hand, Chad's arm takes a turn for the awesome as we get a look on what he is capable of accomplishing against a hollow. I mean Chad was strong enough as a human, but now - he truly can be an asset for Ichigo's team. However, Ichigo is convinced that Uryu's constant pride gets in the way of seeing that the hollow frenzy challenge has gone too far. When the bait gets the attention of hollows, it's kinda hard to stop the infestation. That pretty much sums up this episode. The ongoing feud between Ichigo and Uryu and the surfacing of Chad's powers. I like the build up and we get to see Orihime kick some ass pretty soon too. Death God's Bebop (Track #6) - D-tecnolife

It's been awhile ladies and gentlemen since I posted. I do apologize once again for being on time with posts, but here I am ready to get back into the game. This time, it's a double-post. This week's Death God's Bebop Track is Bleach opening #2. This is where Ichigo and out friends invade the Soul Society to thwart Rukia's execution from taking place unaware that there is deceit amongst the Soul Society and its governing Captains. This opening was so action-packed and of course, none of the fights in the opening happened (Toshiro vs Uryu, Orihime vs Vice Lieutenants, Chad vs. Sui-Feng, etc.) The only fights that happened were actually between Ichigo & Kenpachi and Ichigo and Renji. I mean it's advertising the epicness of the what's to come, but it would've been cool to see those other fights. But then again, most of what happens in any opening or intro to a show doesn't necessarily mean it's bound to happen in an episode. The music and tone of the song matches with the overall badass action of rescuing Rukia, taking down the Captains, and that it's war between the Ryoka and the Gotei 13. With that being said, this is one of my favorite tracks in all of Bleach and because of the imagery, song, and voice of it - it's on my top 10 favorite Bleach songs/ost of all time. I mean I will make a top 10 list one day, but for now - one step at a time. With that said, let's continue with our Recollection post...

Update (8/16/13)

Hey ladies and gentlemen I do apologize once more for not being on time on my posts. I did say previously that Recollection posts would be between Wednesday-Friday. This is the only week where tomorrow's Recollection post will be alongside a Death God Bebop track. I've been under the weather still and I've been focusing on writing a new novel. I do apologize once more and look forward for double post tomorrow sometime.

Affinity #7 - Lust after Beewbs! (Hisagi, Rangiku, & Kira)

Hey ladies and gentlemen, I'm back again and let's kick it with an Affinity post. Now here's a overlooked threesome in Bleach - Rangiku, Hisagi, and Kira. These drinking buddies are all respective lieutenants of the 3rd, 9th, and 10th divisions and have taken part of the battle against the Espada. They haven't (I believe) have a pivotal role against the Vandenreich, but all we know is Hisagi has a Bankai. Now I know they don't have a relationship with Rangiku, but there is one thing that comes to mind when it comes to these three - Hisagi and Kira LOVE Rangiku's BEEWBS! I mean damn - not only is Rangiku hot, strong, and fun, but her body - daaaaaaamn. These 3 are close friends, lieutenants, and the dudes have a thing for Rangiku (especially her ta-tas). I mean, who wouldn't? So this is gonna be short since there's not much to say. Each of these 3 are strong in their own rite, look out for one another, and protect their captains + have unique Shikai abilities. Until then, you all stay classy.

Affinity #6 - Ichihime + Cloud & Tifa - Stillmattic & MechG Collaboration #2

Here's the big one ladies and gentlemen. My hold-no-bars opinion on why Ichihime is the best couple in all of Bleach. Apart from Bleach being my favorite Anime (I do have top 10 list), Ichihime is my favorite couple of all time. So when this scene (picture) was shown in the television Anime, it was love at first sight. I wanted these two to kiss, to be a couple, and to have each other's backs. Well, the third part goes without saying, but Orihime's confession came to an end where she couldn't kiss Ichigo, but rather said something that's just so awesome that I can forget (for now) the kiss: - “Kurosaki kun, you know I had a lot of things I wanted to do… I want to be a teacher…I also want to be an astronaut…and also make my own cake shop…I want to go to the sweets bakery and say “I want one of everything”, ohhhh I wish I could live life five times over…Then I’d be born in five different places, and I’d stuff myself with different food from around the world…I’d live five different lives with five different occupations…and then, for those five times…I’d fall in love with the same person…” Dude, I mean this quote made the couple for me. Orihime's actions and her willingness to kiss Ichigo just prove how strong her love is for our hero. I mean, think about it - they both go to the same school, have orange hair, have been together in stopping Hollows + Aizen's schemes, protect one another, worry for one another, and both know each other's backstory - it's perfect! I do find it cute when Nel (in her adult form) hugged Ichigo so tightly that it appeared as if Ichigo was gonna die from her hug and Orihime was blushing. 

StillMattic you guessed wrong yesterday, but today you guessed right. If there is one couple that reminds me a lot of Ichihime, it has got to be Cloti (NO MECH WHY’D YOU CHOOSE TIFA OVER AERIS?). First off Aeris is Zack’s girl and Cloud X Tifa is my perennial all-time favorite FF couple. Just like when my friend StillMattic screams like a fangirl when there’s a scene with Ichigo and Orihime, I literally just fall on the floor from cuteness whenever I see a Cloud and Tifa AMV or artwork even though Lightis (Noctis X Lightning) is giving Cloti a run for their money in terms of my all-time favorite FF couples (canon and fan). I don’t know if Ichigo and Orihime are childhood acquaintances, I could be wrong, but considering they attend the same school, it’s the best alternative for me to make my comparison. And just like how Ichigo and Orihime reside in the same town and attend the same school, Cloud and Tifa reside in the same town of Nibelheim before Sephiroth burned that town to the ground not to mention they know each other well since childhood, (well almost).What I can take from this comparison is that both Orihime and Tifa can conceal their feelings very well from their knights in shining armors while they’re kicking ass and taking names. If you guys picked Tifa to be the date in the Gold Saucer in FFVII (even though Aeris is the default date) Tifa almost confesses to Cloud, but before she can say “I love you”, their sightseeing ride ends leaving their date in a cliffhanger. In addition, both Orihime and Tifa possess positive and uplifting energy when things go wrong for both Cloud and Ichigo and both Cloud and Ichigo express concern over them even though Cloud is an emotionless hack and Ichigo is at times an incompetent hothead.

Sephiroth vs. Aizen Sousuke (The Great Evils) - Stillmattic & MechG Collaboration #1

VS.

These two badasses are the antagonists of Anime franchise, Bleach, and Final Fantasy VII, Sephiroth. Though different in goals, these two are the evil that haunt our heroes (Cloud & Ichigo). Dark, manipulative, and powerful - these two will do whatever they can to ensure that there plans succeed and the good fails. Both our heroes, Cloud & Ichigo, have struggled against these adversaries and honestly, that's what makes these two kick-ass badasses. Now this is a special Fight Night battle because we have a guest appearance and collaboration from my best-friend, MechG, who is fond of the Final Fantasy franchise than I am. Though different in content of blogs (mine being about Bleach and his about sports, mainly the Oakland Raiders of the NFL and Los Angeles Lakers of the NBA), that doesn't exclude his knowledge of Final Fantasy. The two villains pose a great threat to our heroes. I will talk about Aizen in Bleach and MechG will talk about Sephiroth and in the end- MechG will provide the verdict of who would win a fight between two. As a side note, this isn't bias or choosing sides, we (or MechG) is choosing who honestly could pose more of a threat than the other, just like in any other Fight Night posts (all opinionated). 

Stillmattic: Aizen Sousuke is the antagonist of Bleach after the Rescue Rukia arc. He turned out to had faked his own death, hypnotized everyone with his Zanpaktou, give false orders as assumed command of the Central 46, and made a pact with the would-be Espada. Aizen can be described in three words - manipulative godlike being. He wishes to transcend his being and unlock the power big enough to destroy the Gotei 13 AND the Royal Palace. He possesses (or possessed) the Hogyoku, a sphere that breaks the barriers of Shinigami and Hollows. He takes command of the Espada and has a mano-e-mano fight with Ichigo in their final forms ("Zangetsu" vs. Hogyoku's Will), only later to be sealed by Kisuke Urahara and sent to prison for a long long time. However, what makes Aizen stand out as a villain is his manipulative and calm nature during the whole brawl between the Espada and the Gotei 13 (of what's left of it at the time). And to top it off, he even proves to meet his supposed match when he goes toe-to-toe with Captain Yamamoto. He taunts his opponents, breaks their resolve, and lures them in with ease. He easily defeats the visored and Gotei 13 without unlocking the Hogyoku's true potential. He, however, does unlock his Hogyoku's true ability when fighting Ichigo, Gin, Yoruichi, Urahara, and Issin. Even then he beats everyone but Ichigo. Ichigo's only way to beat this monster is to become one with Zangetsu and ultimately, he will have to lose his Shinigami powers in the aftermath. However, Aizen didn't die and is still alive. Even Juha Bach, the current antagonist of Bleach, is no match or threat for Aizen Sousuke - his very existence pretty much created a gap in the Soul Society's defenses. Aside from his manipulativeness, he is keen - knowing how things will go about before they begin, being unshaken by the loss of his men, and even was really close to telling Ichigo who he was (that will be saved til later). So Aizen is manipulative, keen, powerful, and above all else - the biggest threat to the Soul Society. And now MechG will talk about Sephiroth. 

MechG: Whether you're a video game lover who loves the Final Fantasy franchise or someone who doesn't, you can't argue the fact that Sephiroth is one of the most recognizable FF characters and ONE of the greatest antagonists in the video game industry as a whole and his scene in which he kills Aeris Gainsborough still stands as one of the most shocking and tragic deaths in video game history. When Sephiroth was born, he was born in an experiment with the Jenova Project to Professor Hojo and Lucrecia Crescent after Hojo infused cells from the omnipotent alien being, Jenova with Lucrecia's fetus containing the unborn baby. The majority of his lifetime, Sephiroth was raised by scientists of the Shinra Corporation where they used him as a super soldier in which he uses it to his advantage developing inhuman strength, endurance, agility, and combat reflexes (not to mention he developed to be a crafty and skilled swordsman) and became a prestigious 1st class member of Shinra's SOLDIER program and became a well-known and respected war hero due to his efforts in the Wutai War. In the background story of Final Fantasy VII and further elaborated in Crisis Core, Sephiroth, upon reaching a Mako Reactor near Nibelheim, the hometown of arch nemesis, Cloud Strife and Tifa Lockheart, discovers a pod chamber of a monster containing the name, "JENOVA." As a result, Sephiroth goes crazy, mistakenly referring to monster as his "mother" and proceeds to burn the town of Nibelheim to the ground and killing Tifa's dad in the process with his longsword, the Masamune before recovering the pod containing Jenova. By the time Final Fantasy VII happens, Sephiroth spent his time residing in the Lifestream, the essence and spiritual energy of the Planet, where he gained full on knowledge and extent on the Planet's geography. He has the ability to take on different forms whether it's in the form of a monster or in the form of a human (Loz, Yazoo, and Kadaj in Advent Children) and when his physical form is gone he can still get into someone's mind like how he did with Cloud and his deceased best friend, Zack Fair, another 1st class SOLDIER member when Hojo injected both of them with Sephiroth clone cells. He can also summon a meteor through the use of Black Materia and can direct its course to a planet's destruction as he so pleases. In conclusion, Sephiroth is inhumanly powerful, a mastermind in mind games, and he defies death. He's just that damn impossible to kill off for good.

Verdict: StillMattic has given me, MechG, full creative control of who gets to win. As much as I am a Final Fantasy guy and don’t know too much about Bleach, I will be realistic and impartial. In this case, the new blood dominates the old school and it stands out that Aizen is the most threatening villain. As much as how Sephiroth has developed superhuman powers, abilities, and skill and unlocking more inhuman abilities venturing in the Lifestream, it doesn’t change the fact that he is still a mortal because of his human status; Aizen is on another realm and has proven godlike status as a Soul Reaper who has achieved the rank of a higher power among the Soul Society. Even though both have immeasurable amount of intellect and can equally play intimidating mind games with their enemies, Aizen can read his opponent’s next move before it even happens. Not to mention, Aizen has yet to taste death, Sephiroth has tasted death a couple hundred times regardless of his ability to resurrect. Basically, Sephiroth worked physically and mentally in his relentless desire to be a god, but Aizen is already a proven god because he is after all, a spiritual being.

Throwback #13 - Lovin' the Kon!

Yuzu, Ichigo's little sister, is quite fond of Kon, the mod soul. Now I did say I wasn't a big fan of Kon, but I will say Yuzu's adorableness towards Kon is phenomenal. I mean I keep forgetting she's still a child and yet, is the splitting image of her deceased mother, Masaki. Yuzu doesn't act like any normal kid - cooking, cleaning, and pestering everyone (sister, brother, and even father) to eat dinner. Yuzu as time went by, to me, became recognized as the mother figure in the Kurosaki family. Ever since their mother's death, Yuzu is pretty much the mother of the house and for a kid to accomplish that fear, that is quite impressive. I wouldn't be lying if I said when Yuzu found Kon, it was cute (in video). I mean she likes stuffed animals and why shouldn't she? She's a kid, but a mature kid. When I was her age, I was doing stupid s*it all the time, unaware of the consequences that followed. However, Yuzu is the exception because of what happened to her family after Masaki's passing. Yuzu is a kid we all love, adore, and honestly - aspire to be because she's strong, loving, caring, kind, and worries for everyone - like a human being. So Yuzu's a mature kid for her age, loves Kon because he's adorable and keeps her company, and worries for her family's safety despite having little spiritual pressure. Kon, while Ichigo was training with the visored, saw Yuzu cry and repeatedly say "Onii-Chan," meaning she deeply cares for Ichigo's wellbeing and Kon comments how could Ichigo let this poor little girl cry and that he is a worthless brother. Kon, I believe, keeps and gives Yuzu hope that she can live a normal live of being a kid + being the mother of the Kurosaki household. And that is why their bond (Yuzu X Kon) is phenomenal - one is the mature kid and the other the hope that keeps her in hoping for the best. Death God's Bebop (Track #5) - Number 1

Badass has their theme songs and it's no question, our hero has his own theme. A kick-ass song of badass  proportions. Ichigo's theme is so memorable, so upbeat, and the guitar in the song - it's so kick-ass. I mean when you hear this song, you know s*it's gonna get down. I mean it's only natural for such a badass song to be played at the moment of Ichigo's arrival. Ichigo is the badass in the group and it's because of this, Ichigo's strength is overpowering. When you see him fight, you get the urge to root for him, kick some ass, and just be happy that he's our hero. He's strong, kind, brave, and is a hybrid of a Shinigami & Quincy. This is one of my favorite tracks from the vocals to the guitar - so awesome! Right before a a fight, Ichigo's theme plays and it empowers Ichigo - he can't die, can't be stopped, and won't rest until he beats the enemy/saves his friends. This song symbolizes Ichigo, nothing more nothing less. I mean there's a lot of good tracks, but this song is Ichigo's theme - his entrance music to the Ring (WWE reference). Remember shows like The Animated Adventures of Batman and Superman? They had their own themes and why shouldn't they - it kicked ass and made us look forward to seeing our hero save the day fro evil. Recollection #5 (Episodes 9-10)

Unbeatable Enemy (9) - Ichigo, from the previous episode, is stricken with rage as the hollow who killed his mother appears before him, the manipulative Grand Fisher. Ichigo's mother, the center of Ichigo's entire world, dies right before his eyes by Grand Fisher's "human" bait. Upon realizing this, Ichigo wants revenge and goes rampant on the hollow. However, Ichigo's emotions and the hollow's strength prevented him from killing Grand Fisher as he escapes. Ichigo, saddened that he couldn't kill the hollow that took his mother's life, cries in Rukia's arms - Rukia relieved that Ichigo didn't die in his death battle against Grand Fisher. Eikichiro, the Shinigami sent to investigate Rukia's involvement in the Human World, let's them go. For years, Ichigo has blamed himself for not being able to protect his mother, but Isshin, Ichigo's dad, reassures Ichigo it wasn't his fault - Masaki loved everyone that she'd sacrifice her life for Ichigo's sake. Isshin also points out that he smokes a cigarette one day a year (The date of Masaki's death) because it was the first compliment Isshin ever received. Isshin, in his serious moment, tells Ichigo to buck-up and if he could, when he dies - die with a smile. This marks the moment where Ichigo becomes permanent in being a Shinigami. Thoughts: I liked this episode for couple reasons. Ichigo's resolve as a Shinigami is shown, but at the same time - Ichigo's emotions of rage, sadness, and revenge wasn't strong enough to kill Grand Fisher (the eventual achilles hill of any hero). Isshin, in this episode, is doing parenting right - bucking up Ichigo to live and die with a smile in the future, to not blame himself and to live on. Ichigo didn't die in this episode (though he was close) and it was thanks to the spirit of Ichigo's mother protecting him. This episode showcases Grand Fisher's manipulativeness (turning the bait into the splitting image of Masaki). Rukia is happy and relieved that Ichigo is finally realizing that he has to fight hollow and protect the living from hollow likes Grand Fisher. Out of all the hollows Ichigo fought, Grand Fisher is the most disgusting, horrible, and worst of them all - manipulation, tease, and kill. Grand Fisher got what he deserved, but I was upset that he fled like a p*ssy instead (in the manga after he fled, he is turned into an Arrancar by D-Roy & Iceringer). I like the bond that Ichigo and Rukia share, Ichigo now realizing what he has to do. However, Rukia's far from being safe as Eikichiro let them go, but it didn't stop the investigation from taking a turn for the worst. 

Assault on Trip at Sacred Ground! (10) - The introduction of TV sensation Don Kanoji pretty much sums up this episode. For amusement, he plays with humans who are on the verge of becoming hollows and increases the process unaware of what he is actually doing. Ichigo, aware of this, tries his best to alert Don of his actions with little success at first. For the kids, Don says, but he didn't know the implications behind his actions as Ichigo once again saves the day from a hollow that was once human. The hollow turned into a human because of Don's inability to discern amusement from foolishness. And so, Ichigo saves the day, Don cries, and Ichigo reassures Don's fans that they love him still (try something different). Don is saddened by his actions (briefly), but the show must show on (I suppose). All of Ichigo's friends and family are fans of Don's work and even Rukia, accustomed to the Soul Society, is joining in on the fun (although she later learns of Don's stupidity against a human turning into a hollow). Thoughts: I wasn't a big fan of Don. Some may like him because he brings comic relief to the show, but I wasn't digging it one bit. He's a moron that publicizes entertainment wrongly. You saw what he does - he turns humans w/holes into Hollows. For the children he says, but Don should've known better and now, Ichigo has to clean up his mess. Though he learns of his mistakes, it still doesn't stop from the show business. I mean he could've ignored Ichigo's warnings or even do something stupider, so I wasn't digging any vibes from Don's character because he's a moron and is pretty weak - trying to act all badass, ya kidding me now? I will, however, admit Ichigo's friends and family become fond of Don is pretty hilarious because though they think it's funny, it's just pure dumb entertainment who comically fights the supernatural. The Bwahahaha thing is a recurring catch phrase, which I thought was funny, but other than that - I wasn't digging it. It felt like filler to me, but this canon. I mean Don's character is by no means relevant to the story and heck, he didn't stand a chance against Aizen. I can go on and on and on about why I'm not a fan of Don, but I will just come out and say it - HE IS THE WEAKEST CHARACTER IN THE BLEACH SERIES. HANATARO CAN WHOOP HIS SORRY ASS! For those of you who like him, more power to you. That's my opinion, he sucks.
