BCC 2 Match #4 ~ Taki vs. Erza Scarlet (Soul Calibur vs. Fairy Tail)

Welcome back to another installment of BCC 2 where MechG & I pit the world of Anime & Videogames. As you've all read last Friday, MechG covered for me while I was working in the Black Friday craze, but here I am once again to cover the 4th, 5th, and 6th Matchup(s) for this week. So far, the Videogame Babes are in the lead 2-1 agains the Anime Chicks, but things can change. As you are well aware ~ Story, Personality, & Appeal are taken into account when giving the verdict between the babes. So whose starting off Monday? Well, we got two big-BEEWBED chicks who have a strong sense of morality as well as both them being certified Hotties in my book. One is from the renowned videogame Soul Calibur and the other is a renowned protagonist in the anime Fairy Tail. They both wield blades which pretty much means you're F'd if you mess with them and they both have a similar goal ~ Thwart Darkness to bring forth Peace. And the most ironic part of it all, both these babes got someone they care about named Natsu. So without further ado, let's jam!

Story (Taki)

Orphaned at an early age, Taki was brought in by a ninja master named Toki. Under his guidance, Taki was trained in the ways of the ninja and transformed to be an expert spy and a great schemer. Having possessed supernatural powers, Taki roamed throughout Japan to conquer demons and by doing that, she forged her own weapons with her own love and care, particularly the short sword, Rekki-Maru, also possessing supernatural abilities. Fast forward to Soul Edge, Taki found out her master was corrupted by the spiritual sword, Mekki-Maru through another ninja clan leader named Hechibei, who gave the sword to Taki warning her if it comes in contact with Toki, it will surely kill him. Taki finds out that the evil in Mekki-Maru came from an outside source of the cursed sword, Soul Edge and she set out to find it and destroy it. Finding Soul Edge, she challenged the demonic pirate Cervantes, who just battled with Sophitia and managed to defeat him, despite Rekki-Maru’s weak state. After defeating Cervantes, Taki took Sophitia, removing shards of Soul Edge from her body and treating her wounds, then sending her back to her family then back to Japan. When Taki returned home, she was attacked by Toki’s assassins who were sent to retrieve Mekki-Maru from her and that’s mostly the chunk of Taki’s story in Soulcalibur and SCII, the battle between her and Toki and his assassins plus her trying to control Mekki-Maru’s powers. She didn’t do much in SCIII and SCIV other than confronting her master and still setting out to destroy Soul Edge. In SCV, the main focus of Taki’s story shifts to her relationship with her apprentice, Natsu, who had a great demon sealed inside her. Even though Taki protects Natsu with every fiber of her being, she’s determined to do what must be done if ever Natsu transforms into a demon.

Story (Erza)

Erza grew up in Rosemary village alongside childhood friends Simon and Kagura. One day, her village was attacked and she later went on to become a prisoner and there met a man named Jellal. Jellal later would serve as both an enemy and love interest of Erza, but for a good portion of her upbringing ~ it was serving time as a prisoner + bringing inspiration amongst others by fighting for what's right and just. Later she would learn magic and become one of the top wizards in the renowed guild ~ Fairy Tail alongside Natsu, Gray, and eventually Lucy. Erza, alongside Natsu, Gray, & Lucy went on various missions, taking down various evil mages, and overall trying to bring forth peace throughout the land. Fairy Tail has so many arcs that it's hard to go over all them....we can be here for a long time if I singe-handedly went over all of them. So I'm going to keep this short and simple ~ Erza's adventures in Fairy Tail has made her both a respectable and fearless mage. 

Personality (Taki)

If you want a girl who has a great obsession of kicking evil demons in the @$$ quickly and stealthily, that’s Taki for you. As expected of a ninja, Taki is emotionless, disciplined, and serious as she puts her objectives above all else. She’s not the type of girl you want to play some trickery with as she sees through any deception (good luck to anyone who dares to flirt with her as means to get some) and she will use the best attack possible to defeat an opponent. Aside from her taking her job seriously personality, she can show concern to people who are in some way related to Soul Edge and shows that she can be caring to say the least. She’s got an apprentice named Natsu, whom she really cares for.

Personality (Erza)

Erza can be a sweet & kind lady, but in battle ~ she's merciless and will do anything to thwart evil. She has a strong sense of morals and believes that is her drive behind every encounter she's had. She's also feared by other mages (notably Natsu & Gray) because of her strictness and her badassery. She's also seen as impatient at times as  well being over-the-top scary when drunk. In a nutshell ~ she can be a sweetheart, but she's aggressive in battle because her morals drive her to bring forth happiness & prosperity everywhere. 

Appeal (Taki)

No doubt Taki is one of the hottest and most recognizable female characters in the Soulcalibur series, next to Ivy of course. To me, it’s a toss-up on who’s 1A and 1B respectively. You can add Sophitia in the mix, but IMHO, she’s not as hot as Ivy and Taki are, not by a long shot. What can I say about Taki? Pretty face + tight ninja body suit + big, jiggling BEEWBZ? YES! YES! YES! Another thing is that even though her voice makes her sound all brave and JUSTICE-like, her battle screams, cries, grunts sound sexy and boy it makes her even sexy, especially when she is a damsel in distress or in other words, being pinned down (oh those good old Ryona vids).

Appeal (Erza)

Erza, much like most of the chicks in Fairy Tail, have incredibly big-BEEWBS and are well-designed. Many bath scenes depict the chicks full on nude with Erza not minding who sees her....even going so far as to allow Natsu & Gray to bathe with her since she did so in the past. In my opinion, Erza is the hottest chick in Fairy Tail next to Lucy and her badassery along makes her all the more appealing as a character and protagonist in Team Natsu's gang. I mean c'mon ~ wouldn't you want to fight alongside her and she not giving a sh*t if you bathe with her? I would and so should you since she's all that! 

Verdict (By Stillmattic)

And the winner is...

This Matchup was pretty interesting since both are 8@d@$$e$, are proficient in their abilities, fight in the name of justice & peace, and have incredibly large BEEWBZ. So who won this in the end? Well, to be honest, I had to give it to Erza because not only do I find her more appealing than Taki, but her relevance in the story continues to serve as a the main dish in the Fairy Tail Anime & Manga. With Taki, you can argue that her character is just as balanced as the character roster in Soul Calibur with each character getting a individual story, drive (purpose), and a opening/ending sequence. With Erza, her relevance, next to Natsu, is of utmost importance. Fairy Tail centers around the guild, but it's usually Team Natsu that steals the show. I didn't see that with Taki since her relevance and drive is irrelevant unlike Nightmare. Erza's abilities also are more developed since she can change armor & abilities whenever with each possessing something unique and more badass than the next. Sorry SC fans, but this victory goes to the FT.
