Choji Akimichi vs. Marechiyo Omaeda (Food Lovers)

Vs.

It's been awhile ladies and gentlemen, but here I am to bring you another installment on Fight Night Mondays. To kick things off, let's begin with the long-awaited Choji from Naruto & Omaeda from Bleach Matchup. Bleach & Naruto, though different, have similarity with characters. You can draw comparisons on both sides, but it's ultimately it's a battle of Ninjas vs. Death Gods. So this week, I took it upon myself to compare two of the franchise's food lovers - Choji Akimichi & Marechiyo Omaeda. Now from the wise words of Star Trek Into Darkness, Shall we begin?

Omaeda is a rich & large man, lieutenant of the 2nd Division, and vice-captain of the Stealth Forces. When he isn't fighting, he's either slacking off, eating, or pissing off his captain, Sui-Feng. His Zanpaktou pretty much is a spiked mace wrecking ball that Omaeda has complete command on either throwing or using it as a shield. He lost to Ichigo easily, but when it comes down to fighting off against Arrancars, he proves he can stand his own ground. However, when it comes to incredible strong opponents like the Espada, he's scared s*hitless and cowers away in fear. Despite his monologue on being a member of the Gotei 13, he is, in my opinion, one of the weakest Vice-Captains of the bunch. He can be brave at times, but it's only a front for Sui-Feng or somebody else to take over. Now, he has to face the Stern Ritter that took Sui-Feng's bankai, but this is skeptical because Sui-Feng could show up anywhere.

Choji is 1/3 of the Ino-Shika-Cho (the other two being Ino & Shikamaru). Despite having a large appetite, he can still pull off on his own fighting strong opponents. With his immense size, much like his clan, he can grow in size and stomp on his opponents using the Akimichi techniques and the food pills. At first, I thought he was gonna be a stick in the mud, but he proved to stand his own ground in both the Naruto anime and its continuity, Naruto Shippuden. Alongside his father, Choji can prove that size does matter and that his opponents better think twice before messing with an Akimichi. When increased size, it increases his power ten-fold. Shikamaru is lazy, but calculative. Ino is bitchy, but caring. And Choji's large, but is the muscles. Each of the Ino-Shika-Cho traits dates back to when their parents were the previous Ino-Shika-Cho (Shikamaru, Ino, & Choji's dads). And now the legacy of the Ino-Shika-Cho continues on with Shikamaru, the brains, Ino, the mind swapper, & Choji - the muscles.

Verdict: I like to say it's an even match, but we all know whose gonna win. He's reliable, strong, and isn't a coward. He may have a huge appetite, but his appetite in saving his friends is more filling. So this goes without saying, the victor goes to -
Why: Omaeda is too cowardly for his own good. He's huge, but has only proven himself to be useful at a couple times. He may have his badass moments, but in the end, there are powerful and stronger Lieutenants than Omaeda. He's Okay, but he has to do a lot more before he can prove me otherwise. Choji I found more likable, relatable, and honestly - a bigger threat than Omaeda's size & comic relief. Choji uses his body as both an offense and defense which I admire because he doesn't beat around the bush. He is incredibly strong, an asset in the war, and a reason why the Ino-Shika-Cho kicks a ton of ass combined.

So who do you think won? Let me know your thoughts by leaving a comment or concern. Until then, you all stay classy now!
