Bleach Kombat Round 2: Jade vs. Yoruichi Shihoin (BEEWB...BEEWBS...BEEWBIES!)

VS.

You know what makes our next Matchup awesome? 6 letters ~ B-E-E-W-B-S. When you look at these two, you just want to say....DAYUM! They are unbelievably hot, cute, and my goodness ~ them knockers of theirs is a delight to see. And to top it all of them ~ they can kick our @$$e$ because they are highly skilled in hand-to-hand combat. Ladies & Gentlemen, without further ado, let us begin this week right by starting the 2nd Round of Bleach Kombat ~ Jade from Mortal Kombat & Yoruichi Shihoin from Bleach. The following will be compared: Backstory/Role, Powers/Abilities, & Verdict (By MechG). Considering the text is difficult to read on computers & smartphones, the written portions will no longer be in Blue or Purple (MechG's written portion is on Jade and mine is on Yoruichi). Mortal Kombat leads 1-0 (July 4th) against Bleach.

Backstory/Role (Yoruichi Shihoin)

Yoruichi was born as a princess of the Shihoin Noble family and is childhood friends with Kisuke Urahara & Tessai, where they played at the Sokyoku Hill Training Space (which was built by Kisuke Urahara). It would be later where took up the responsibility as Captain of the 2nd Division (Stealth Force) and took on her role as the 22nd Princess - becoming the first Princess of the Shihoin Household. When Kisuke was promoted to be 12th Division Captain & was solely responsible for the Visored's birth. Yoruichi alone was the one who helped aid Kisuke & Tessai from receiving punishment. Together, the three were banished to the Living world where they hid in secrecy as to escape persecution while trying to conceal the whereabouts of the Hogyoku. During her tenor as Captain of the 2nd division, she often joked about with a much younger and childish Byakuya Kuchiki, offering to play wit him for her amusement much to Byakuya's annoyance. From her tenor as Captain & Princess to present day, she has a playful, rebellious, & witty side to her. 

Yoruichi first appeared in her cat form to Kisuke Urahara. She assists Team Ichigo in rescuing Rukia, where she informs Ichigo's group on the dangers of the Gotei 13 as well as train them to the best of their abilities. She eventually reveals herself to Ichigo as to who he is and who Kisuke Urahara is and steps in, later, to save Ichigo from acting irrationally against Byakuya Kuchiki. She is seen later fighting against the new 2nd Division Captain and her former bodyguard, Sui-Feng Yoruichi won and showcased her usage and imperfect form of Shunko. Convincing Sui-Feng otherwise, the two 2nd Division Stealth Force Captains of the New & Old tried to thwart Aizen's defection plan only later to see that it was too late to save Aizen. Later on, Yoruichi & Kisuke aid in stopping Yammy's rampage and way later is seen alongside Kisuke & Isshin in stopping Aizen, only later to lose to him with Ichigo being the key to victory. During the Fullbringer Arc, Ichigo notices that part of Yoruichi's Reiatsu in imbedded within him in reassurance of Ichigo's retrieval of Shinigami powers.

Backstory/Role (Jade)

Jade was born and raised in the realm of Edenia and is a childhood best friend of Princess Kitana or they were “besties” in girl talk. When the Emperor of Outworld, Shao Kahn invaded Edenia, Kahn killed King Jerrod and took Queen Sindel (Kitana’s mother and father) as his own, then took Jade and Kitana and trained them to become highly proficient assassins under his command.

Though Jade did appear in MK2, she didn’t get a prominent role in the storyline in MK3. In MK3, she, along with Reptile, were ordered by Shao Kahn to find and kill Kitana as she fled from Outworld to Earthrealm as she killed her half-sister, Mileena in the second tournament. During the assassination attempt, Jade became conflicted, choosing between serving her Emperor or to serve Kitana. She ultimately joined Kitana’s cause and thwarted Reptile’s assassination attempt of her best friend. The two joined Raiden and his Forces of Light to counter-attack against Shao Kahn’s extermination squads. Jade helped Kitana free Sindel from Kahn’s spell and allowed Liu Kang to deliver the final blow against the Emperor. Sometime after, Jade would assist Kitana and Sindel to reclaim Edenia from Outworld and she would become a general of the Edenian army. Storyline-wise, she wouldn’t play another role until Deception where she mourned for Kitana’s dead body along with the Earthrealm warriors after they failed to defeat the Deadly Alliance of Quan Chi and Shang Tsung and she witnessed Onaga’s prophesized return to reclaim his Army of the Dead. When Onaga resurrected the fallen Kitana and the Earthrealm warriors, they invaded Edenia and captured Sindel. Jade freed the Queen, fighting Kitana who is possessed by the Dragon King’s influence and they made a break for Outworld. Before retreating, Jade caught glimpse of the Edenian traitor, Tanya serving Onaga and she made it a personal mission to not only kill Tanya, but help Sindel free Kitana from the Dragon King’s influence. In Armageddon, she was last seen fighting Tanya before succumbing to death eventually as the all-out war between good and evil raged on between the kombatants.

Powers/Abilities (Yoruichi Shihoin)

Yoruichi, being the former 2nd Division Captain, is highly proficient in Shunpo, Infiltration, & Hand-to-Hand combat. In the earlier part of the series, she is also seen transforming from her cat-like form to her usual self. As a Shinigami, she is also capable of using Kido, but it's unaware of her Zanpaktou's abilities. Not much about her is clear, but we do know is that she is a master at Hand-to-Hand & Shunpo - two quality traits needed for the 2nd Division Captain. The source of her power comes from Shunko, exerting and amplifying everything - Hand-to-Hand Combating & Kido. 

Powers/Abilities (Jade)

Even though it is a given that all MK characters should have excellent skill in hand-to-hand combat, Jade is one of those MK characters who prefers to fight with weapons rather than fists. When she was first introduced in MK2 and also in MK9, she, like Kitana, fought with razor sharp fans. But since MK3, she wielded an iron sharp staff called the Bo and showed that she excels in using that staff. The staff transforms into razor-rangs (boomerang with three razor sharp blades) in which Jade can use for long range purposes and she can alter its course at command. Her notable Fatality with the staff is the Staff Shake in which she stabs the person and she starts shaking the body until it becomes a skeleton and then it the body explodes. Other abilities, Jade is immune to projectile attacks by emitting a green aura force field, causing it to go through her without taking damage though in later installments, they revised it to have her take minimal damage instead none at all.

Verdict (MechG)

And the winner is...

I didn’t want it to come down to this, choosing between these two hot, sexy girls. At the same time you don’t want to F with any of them, one will beat you to a bloody pulp with hands and feet and the other will impale you with a sharp staff, not to mention they both display excellent stealth, speed, and combat reflexes. But since I’m more of a story guy, I’d say that Yoruichi edges Jade in that category and in the matchup overall. We don’t know the full extent of Jade’s upbringings other the fact that out of nowhere, she becomes Kitana’s best friend and becomes Shao Kahn’s personal assassin. Yoruichi, though she is more of a 2^nd tier character in the Bleach story arcs, her upbringing is quite clear and has more depth in her backstory that she was a noble family daughter and becoming the first princess of her household, then became a 2^nd division captain. When in terms of 2^nd tier characters, you’re going to have gaps in the character development and Jade has a really big gap in her development since she first appeared in MK2/MK3 and pretty much was never heard from again until Deception, though MK fans can assume that she’s managing the Edenian army and protecting Kitana and Sindel in between events where at least Yoruichi had some consistent involvement in the Bleach story arcs despite not being a primary character. Until the current alternate timeline setting proves me wrong that Jade can play a prominent role in the alternate storyline, YORUICHI WINS.
