Throwback #51 - Leaving is never easy to do

One of the most heart-breaking scenes in all of Bleach would probably have to be Renji losing his family. Growing up stealing as a means of living, it was Renji & his friends against the world. When Rukia showed up, it was like another member of their family. The only difference was that Renji & Rukia were the only ones with spiritual power  of the family. Upon Renji & Rukia's friends' deaths, the two swore to enlist with the Gotei 13. It wouldn't be too long before Rukia was adopted into the Kuchiki Clan, leaving Renji all alone and without anyone to call family. The gravitas of this scene explicates the bond of friendship that these two had and that leaving is never easy to do. This was heart-breaking to Rukia, but it was even more so for Renji because for the first time in his life ~ he was alone. Renji was furious with the Kuchiki Clan's decision to take Rukia into the family ~ it left an opening in his heart and unveiled a newfound hatred for the man responsible for taking his one family away ~ Byakuya Kuchiki. Renji relentlessly trained just so he can challenge the very man who took everything away from him and in the end, he ended up ironically becoming his Lieutenant. With Rukia, she joined the 13th division and one of her first missions involved the renowned setting of where our hero is, Karakura Town. Despite their separation, the two still are close, but at that moment during the Academy ~ it was the hardest thing they had to do.
