BCC 2 Match #15 - Chun-Li vs. Rukia Kuchiki (Street Fighter vs. Bleach)

VS.

Welcome back to another installment of BCC 2 with featured collaboration from my best friend & author of the Trueraiderlaker blog,  MechG. BCC 2 is pitting the best of the best when it comes to Videogames & Anime. The emphasis on BCC (Big-BEEWBED Catfight) is on the lovely ladies from each franchise, judging their story, personality, and appeal as the basis of the subject matter as well deciding on the consensus on whose the better woman in our personal opinion. The Videogame Babes are leading 8-6 against the Anime Cuties. MechG will be deciding the consensus for this Christmas week. Today's Matchup is Street Fighter's Chun-li & Bleach's Rukia Kuchiki. Let's jam! Final BCC Matchup will be on Monday and decided by yours truly.

Story (Chun-Li)
Chun-Li’s story begins as an Interpol Detective who was investigating the disappearance and murder of her father. Trying to trace the killer’s whereabouts, Chun-Li got into a friendly spar with her former master and a friend of her father’s, Gen. Gen just gives her clues about who may have killed her father, tracing to the crime syndicate, Shadaloo. She finds the leader, M. Bison and demands answers from him. Much to the delight of Bison, he manages Chun-Li with ease in combat and tells her that he was the one who killed him. This began a long quest for Chun-Li to try to put an end to Shadaloo’s crimes, bring M. Bison to justice, and avenge her father’s death. She teams up with U.S. Air Force members, Charlie and Guile to exploit the main stronghold of Shadaloo, which they did and blew up, but at the cost of Charlie’s sacrifice and “death.” Just when she thought Shadaloo fell, Chun-Li was invited to the 2nd World Warrior tournament by Bison. Surprisingly finding him alive, Chun-Li attended to put an end to him once and for all and make Shadaloo pay for their crimes. After Bison’s supposed demise of Akuma and the supposed demise of Shadaloo, Chun-Li enjoyed a brief retirement before coming back to the Interpol scene after Guile convinced her that Shadaloo is still at large with physical evidence. She teamed up with Guile and Cammy to investigate Shadaloo’s weapon’s division, S.I.N. and their headmaster, Seth. She encountered one of their agents, Juri Han and even though she defeated Juri, she couldn’t bring her into custody as S.I.N. and Shadaloo still remains at large.

Story (Rukia Kuchiki)

Before joining the Gotei 13, Rukia lived in the worst district in the Soul Society. It wasn't long before Byakuya Kuchiki, the current head of the Kuchiki family, adopted Rukia into the family, but in actuality- Rukia is related to Byakuya's wife, Hisana. Hisana was Rukia's sister and looked exactly like her, but Rukia didn't become aware of the truth until Byakuya met Ichigo. Rukia was abandoned by her sister and thus, Rukia saw Renji and his friends as her only family. Rukia now is the lieutenant of the 13th division and remains one of Ichigo's friends.

Personality (Chun-Li)
Being the first female in Street Fighter franchise, Chun-Li has a cheerful personality. Although that sounds too general, her personality starts to be get into specifics when Capcom actually started writing and extending Street Fighter’s storyline in the Alpha series and in SFIV. Being a detective of Interpol, she has a strong sense of…wait for it…JUSTICE!!!! She takes her work seriously, you know, serving the public trust, protecting the innocent, and upholding the law (yes, that’s a RoboCop reference). She can be competitive at times fighting against other worthy martial artists but at the end of the day, when the fight is over, she becomes friends with them (unless your names are: M. Bison, Balrog, Vega, Seth, Juri, etc., then she’ll kick the living cr@p out of you, like literally). Aside from her disciplined and courageous ways and her relentless determination to bring the most notorious criminals of Shadaloo to…wait for it…JUSTICE, Chun-Li still retains her gleeful and elegant personality even when everything is not all sunshine and blue skies.

Personality (Rukia Kuchiki)
Rukia is a determined Shinigami who upholds her duties without fail and was adopted into the Kuchiki clan, adopting a modest & graceful persona. Rukia is one of those people who cares for others and bottles up everything inside so as to avoid the suspicion that something may/may not be wrong with her. Rukia, since teaming up with Team Ichigo, has become a helpful aid in Bleach's many antagonists. Lastly, Rukia is obsessed with cute things as she won't do harm to cuteness.

Appeal (Chun-Li)
What’s not to say about the first lady in Street Fighter and in fighting games as a whole? You can’t resist a hot @$$-kicking babe that will keep kicking you till your balls drop. Aside from Cammy who followed suit three years after her creation, Chun-Li is the leader of a long list of hot Street Fighter babes. She has the pretty face, her BEEWBZ are pretty decent, more appealing when she’s
in a good mood, but so bad@$$ when in a fighting mood, but the one thing that separates Chun-Li from the other babes is her thighs and legs. Who wouldn’t want to have a piece of those long, muscular, and flexible legs and those sexy @$$ buttocks? Oh yeah, did I forget to mention that we all got turned on when we saw her naked in the shower during the Street Fighter II Animated Movie? But other than that, she along with Samus Aran from the Metroid series, are the reasons why we have an abundance of hot and sexy video game female characters now. You gotta appreciate that.

Appeal (Rukia Kuchiki)

Seeing Rukia for the first time, I thought she was cute. I'm a sucker for girls w/short-hair and Rukia is no exception. When she got her hair even shorter, I was in love. Something about that hairstyle of her + her personality & demeanor = ideal girl. To me, Rukia is one of the cutest girls in all of Bleach despite not possessing much package in other parts. She makes up for it by being a relevant figure in Ichigo's world as well as being responsible for the events transpiring Bleach's conception.

Verdict (By MechG)
And the winner is...
Well shiiiiieeetttt, a verdict where I can just chill and not be so hard on myself on who to choose to decide the winner. I mean these two lovely ladies are the mascots of their respective franchises. Chun-Li is to Street Fighter as Rukia is to Bleach and we all know the main protagonists whom they support are that damn popular because, well they are the damn protagonists (Ryu and Ichigo). Stillmattic always says without Rukia, there’d be no Bleach. Well, without Chun-Li, the most notable female fighters in the fighting game world would’ve never existed. Chun-Li took over what Samus Aran started back in the release of Metroid and that’s paving the way for other memorable playable female video game characters or female characters that play an intricate part in the video game story arc. I’ll give a benefit of a doubt that Rukia’s story is well fleshed out in Bleach. Her backstory is tragic and such and she’s thoroughly developed. I feel just because it’s Street Fighter, people just have to assume Chun-Li doesn’t do much because of the game’s lack of a straightforward plot line and she’s second fiddle to Ryu, but once the Alpha series and SFIV came out, something magical happened. Yeah we give Capcom so much s#!t for dragging the Shadaloo story arc too long, but for it to drag that long is also a testament because now there’s depth on what happened before SFII and what happened after SFII. Chun-Li may be second fiddle to Ryu and Ken, but she plays an intricate part in the long Shadaloo story arc. She ain’t no ordinary cop: she’s investigating sh*t, interrogating people, tracing whereabouts on Shadaloo’s next move with Cammy and Guile, the current rivalries with Crimson Viper and Juri Han, etc. There’s also a dual threat motive in Chun-Li’s pursuit of M. Bison and Shadaloo: the sense of bringing the most feared criminal/dictator to justice and holding a personal vendetta to avenge a loved one, her father. I mean, jeez 23 years since this story arc was somewhat created in SFII and still no closure on the rise and fall of M. Bison and Shadaloo. Capcom has been milking that sh*t for far too long. And besides, in terms of appeal and personality, Chun-Li has the total package: strong, courageous, beautiful, smart, positive, serious when on the job, Rukia also has those traits, but Chun-Li just balances them out more efficiently IMHO. Rukia just wishes she’s half the woman Chun-Li is (shots fired). No offense Bleach fans.

So who do you think won? Chun-Li from Street Fighter or Rukia Kuchiki from Bleach? Comment below and let me know. 1 more BCC 2 Matchups to go ~ The last on Monday. Until then, you all stay classy now. Videogame Babes are winning 9-6 against the Anime Cuties. Also be sure to check out MechG's blog: http://trueraiderlaker.blogspot.com/ that covers sports-themed topics on the LA Lakers & Oakland Raiders.
