I've talked about Lisa & Nanao sometime before on the blog, but I can't help but find their chemistry kind of cute. This is why Nanao acts so professional and cool much like Lisa. Lisa often read stories to Nanao when she was just a little kid who didn't know any better. Nanao's history isn't really revealed nor is Lisa, but you can't help but pretty much call them sisters. They both have glasses and are close members of the 8th division. After Lisa's 'absence' from the Gotei 13, we never truly saw how Nanao felt completely. All we saw was Captain Shunsui Kyoraku comfort her in saying the cliche "They'll definitely come back." Well, Lisa never came back for many MANY years and during the start of Bleach, Nanao was already the Lieutenant underneath Captain Kyoraku. It was unknown whether or not she carried a previous title before being Lieutenant, but one thing's for sure, she grew up with Lisa & Kyoraku. You could say Lisa is the sisterly figure and Kyoraku is the guardian (although Kyoraku is both a womanizer and an alcoholic that's turned on by just about any girl ~ even Lisa). One thing's for sure though, seeing both Lisa & Nanao together back-to-back, it's like a splitting image. Nanao grew up strong despite Lisa's 'absence' and Lisa retained her cool and collective demeanor.
