Affinity #85 - For a moment like this… (Ichigo X Senna)

When the first Bleach movie was announced, I was ecstatic. When I watched it, I thoroughly enjoyed it and even copped myself a copy. So far, there have been 4 movies to date and, if you were to ask me my favorite in order ~ it'd be: Diamond Dust Rebellion (2), Fade to Black (3), Memories of Nobody (1), and Hell Verse (4). Don't worry, I'll give my thoughts on each of these movies soon. Memories of Nobody is the 1st movie and also introduced a non-canon character named Senna. Senna is a sweet, outspoken, curious, strong, and loyal to her friends. It is revealed that she too is a Shinigami and is later revealed to be the Shinenju (Memory Rosary). Without Senna, there wouldn't be a primary motive for the villains. Her attachment to Ichigo stood out to me as somewhat ambitious considering there are many Ichihime & Ichiruki fans. When I first saw the movie, I didn't have any qualms about Ichigo & Senna getting together, but alas it wasn't meant to be. Senna sacrificed herself in order to preserve the Human World, the Soul Society, and most importantly, Ichigo. Ichigo, being her hero, is constantly saving damsels in distress (Example: Orihime, Rukia, & Nel). So of course it's obvious that I personally think Ichigo & Senna would look together, but Ichihime & Ichiruki fans may argue otherwise. I am open to the possibilities despite initially being an Ichihime fanatic. Their time together throughout the movie was just a journey in its self and I was wondering whether or not Senna's lingering feelings would hold true to the end. She sacrificed herself to save Ichigo ~ that already is telling me that she cannot bear to live in a world without him. So ~ Senna loves Ichigo. Yeah, that sums it up nicely. Despite her being a movie based character, I had a lot of fun with Senna's personality, role in story, and her attachment to our main hero. Senna, you will always linger on in our memories and will always be a friend.

I hope you enjoyed this week's Affinity. Look forward to Affinities on Tuesdays. Until then, you all stay classy now.
