Watchlist #44 - Resurrection 'F'

August 12th, 2015, I revisited my childhood and watched the limited release of the latest DBZ movie: Resurrection 'F.' It's been awhile since I've touched upon the subject of DBZ and there I was watching it on the big screen alongside my fellow DBZ fans. This is the 19th DBZ film and it was refreshing to see some familiar faces ~ Piccolo, Krillin, Gohan, Master Roshi, Bulma, and the stars of the film ~ Goku, Vegeta, & Frieza. Going into this film, I instinctively knew that it was going to be epic. A lot of fighting, destruction, havoc, and, of course, screaming. I will openly admit that Frieza wasn't my favorite antagonist of the DBZ series (That would be Buu), but his return is very welcoming. It was nostalgic to see Frieza try and best both Goku & Vegeta despite the fact that we know our heroes will prevail one way or another. Not only was this a limited release, but DBZ fans were screaming for joy at the return of familiar voice actors from the original DBZ. Hearing Goku, Vegeta, & Frieza felt like I was re-watching DBZ. I felt like a kid again and it was awesome to see that Akira Toriyama (creator) still has it when it came to writing the story & bringing back what we love so much about DBZ! I'm not going to go into detail about the story, but it's pretty much self-explanatory ~ Goku vs. Frieza. Two fighters who duke it out and there are stakes on both ends ~ preserving the Earth or witness it's destruction. This film also brought back Beerus & Whis from the previous DBZ Film, Battle of Gods. Those two, let me tell you, are 100x stronger than pretty much everyone in the series. I haven't watched Battle of the Gods, but c'mon ~ those two could've killed Frieza with just a flick of their finger. Great action, sporadic & unorthodox humor, amazing animation/resolution, and an awesome soundtrack ~ DBZ Resurrection 'F' is a DBZ fan's wish come true. It was nice seeing it in theaters, but most of all ~ it makes me want to re-watch DBZ all over again because DBZ is a classic, a marvel in Anime, and is nostalgic all around.
