VS.
The 2nd Toguro-Zaraki Matchup is between Yu Yu Hakusho's Bui from Team Toguro & Bleach's Ikkaku Madarame from the 11th Division. I find these two characters to be quite strong, but with any matchup - there can only be one. I found these two to be a bit similar when it comes to motivation, development, and relationship to their Captains (Toguro & Zaraki). So far in the Toguro-Zaraki Bleach Hakusho matchup(s) - Yumichika defeated Karasu. Who will win this fight? Bui or Ikkaku? Withour further ado, let's get this matchup started starting with: Role in Story, Relationship to Captain, Powers/Abilities, & Fight Record.
Role in Story (Bui)
In the Dark Tournament, Bui is a member of the renowned Team Toguro. His team easily defeated Team Gorenja, but Bui met his match as he went up against Team Urameshi's Hiei. In wanting to conserve his energy for Toguro, Bui had no choice but to give it his all against Hiei since Hiei was proving to be a bit too much for Hiei. In the end, Hiei managed to outsmart Bui and leaves him alive, much like how Toguro did in the past.

One of Ichigo's first opponents upon entering the Seireitei to rescue Rukia is 3rd Seat of the 11th division, Ikkaku Madarame. Ikkaku unfortunately lost to Ichigo, but has garnered much respect and admiration for his strength and tenacity. It wouldn't be long before Ikkaku and various Shinigami partake in a full-scale war against Aizen Sousuke's forces and later, the Wandenreich led by Leader of the Quincy, Yhwach.

In the past alongside Karasu, Bui was sparred and humiliated by the Toguro Brothers (left a nasty scar on Bui's face). Wanting to get stronger, Bui trained relentlessly until he was close enough to challenge him once more. Along with Karasu, he joins the Toguro brothers in the Dark Tournament in hopes to challenge him, but lost to Hiei. At his peak, Toguro commented that Bui has gotten a lot stronger. It is unconfirmed if Bui's training was enough to stop Toguro at 100% power.

Ikkaku, alongside his friend and 5th seat Yumichika, have a lot of respect for Kenpachi as they would gladly die under his command. It is unconfirmed if Ikkaku's Bankai could thwart Kenpachi's newfound Shikai.

Not only is his battle armor and weaponry heavy - but he is incredibly agile as he charged towards Hiei as if his axe didn't weigh much. However, Bui's power shines when he removes his battle armor, revealing his demonic energy. When he wore his battle armor, he concealed his demonic energy in conservation, but when he removed it - he unleashes all his demonic energy into physical energy. However, that's all there is to it - no techniques, no special attacks; just all offense. Bui's ability to create axes almost managed to hit Hiei a couple of times, but Hiei was just as fast to evade his attacks and have ample time to set his next attack. Bui was the only member of Team Toguro who is left alive.

In his Bankai, Ikkaku's power is amplified as he was able to cut through Edrad's skin like it was paper. Ikkaku states that his Bankai is quite lazy as he has to built up spirit energy to unleash the full-extent of his Bankai's truly power. The amplification of power through his offense is much like Bui's battle armor, but unlike Bui- Ikkaku has to unleash it through his Bankai and it's rare that he showcases his Bankai since its kept a secret.
