Bleach Kombat Round 13: Fujin vs. Candice Catnipp (The Perfect Storm)

VS.

So we got the God of Wind going up against Thunder Tits. What a Matchup this is. The Perfect Storm to end the week. When the clouds erupt in the sky, blistering winds and ferocious thunder strikes are a recipe for disaster. The Thunder Buddies from Ted fear Candice's very power whereas Fujin himself created Sharknado to exploit hollywood's stupidity from profiting off a ridiculous name. Previously, Dragonforce was supposed to create a song by the name "Through the Wind & Thunder," but that sounded pretty dumb and that's why it was renamed "Through the Fires & Flames" because that sounds a lot more cooler (NOTE: THE ORIGINAL TITLE HAS ALWAYS BEEN THROUGH THE FIRE & FLAMES ~ my explanation is for entertainment purposes). Anyways, today's 13th BK Round is between MK's Fujin, the God of Wind, and Bleach's Candice Catnipp, the Thunder Tits Gal. The current scoreboard for BK Month is 8-4 with Bleach leading. Today's Matchup is handpicked and verdict by MechG (as well as Monday & Wednesday's 14th and 15th BK Rounds). The following will be incorporated as usual: Backstory/Role in Story, Powers/Abilities, & Verdict (By MechG). Let's Jam!

Backstory/Role in Story (Candice)
Backstory? What Backstory?

Candice, alongside the GPZ Sisters (Liltotto, Meninas, & Giselle), first make their appearance when Bambietta is dissatisfied with Yhwach's decision to make Uryu their successor and pretty are sh*t talking about Bambietta killing a dude whenever she's pissed. . Later on, Candice showed up alongside the GPZ Sisters when Bambietta gets her @$$ kicked by Komamura and pretty much deliver the final blow to her (well, Giselle does). Just as Gremmy was finally killed, Candice strikes the heavily tired Kenpachi. It seemed like a pretty easy victory, but Ichigo shows up and proves to be a little too much for the TGPZ sisters as Candice lost her arm. Suddenly, Bazz-B attacks the TGPZ sisters for being weak and unable to comprehend Ichigo. However, Candice survived Bazz-B's attack and now is participating in a 8-vs-6 brawl against the Shinigami.

Backstory/Role in Story (Fujin)
Fujin is the almighty god of wind. Though not much is known about his involvement in the Heavens or his involvement in the perpetual war between the Elder Gods and Shinnok, it is known in Mortal Kombat Mythologies: Sub-Zero that Fujin was among the elemental gods in chosen by the thunder god, Raiden to safeguard Shinnok’s Amulet and make sure that the amulet does not fall into the wrong hands to ensure that Shinnok does not return to wreak havoc among the realms. Fujin was encountered by the original Sub-Zero, Bi-Han (Noob Saibot) as the Lin Kuei warrior was tasked by Quan Chi to retrieve Shinnok’s amulet. Bi-Han engaged Fujin in battle and bested the wind god, but considering Fujin cannot die from mortals, he had to create a tornado around him to kill himself to go back to the Heavens. Ever since then, Fujin remained inactive, observing from above as his fellow god, Raiden did most of the work to protect Earthrealm and recruit Earthrealm’s finest warriors to defend the realm from invasion of other realms.

After Shao Kahn’s defeat and with Earthrealm and Outworld restored separately from the merger, Shinnok and his dark forces from the Netherealm attacked the Heavens and attempted to siege the Elder Gods’ palace with Fujin and the elemental gods of earth, fire, and water defending the palace. Shinnok defeated and killed the three elemental gods with ease and Fujin heroically tried to fend off Shinnok and his forces of darkness on his own before he was defeated and sent crashing down from Heaven. Shinnok sent his demons to hunt down and kill Fujin, but he was rescued just in time by Raiden and the Shaolin monks, Liu Kang and Kai. From there, Fujin recuperated and assisted Raiden and the Forces of Light to battle the Fallen Elder God and his forces. With Shinnok defeated, the Elder Gods gave Fujin a new task. Raiden appears and reveals to Fujin that the Elder Gods have chosen him to ascend to Elder God status and he has chosen him to take his place as the protector of Earthrealm. Fujin honorably accepted the task, but his first day as protector of Earthrealm was cut short after Raiden relinquished his Elder God status to become protector once again after finding out the two most powerful sorcerers, Quan Chi and Shang Tsung formed a deadly alliance and killed Earthrealm’s champion, Liu Kang by surprise. Fujin would not play a prominent role again until Armageddon allying with Kung Lao as they were on a mission to restore Raiden’s sanity after corrupting himself with madness during his sacrifice to slow down the Dragon King, Onaga from regaining complete control of his dead army and reanimating Liu Kang’s corpse and sending it on a rampage. He took part in a meeting with the Forces of Light lead by Johnny Cage and found out through Kenshi that his old friend, Argus sent his two sons, Daegon and Taven on a quest. Fujin went alone to find the two brothers and stop the quest as precaution to prevent evil. He encountered Taven, but was defeated by the half-blood in battle and allowed Taven to resume his journey. Fujin did participate in the war of Armageddon, but his fate was unknown.

Powers/Abilities (Candice)
Candice is given the title "T" for Thunderbolt. She is able to create, control, & project lightning bolts from her hands (as well projecting it upon herself). The intensity of her Thunderbolt was enough to subdue the great Kenpachi Zaraki of the 11th division. Aside from her Thunderbolt abilities, she possesses multiple traits of a Quincy ~ using a Bow as a weapon, possessing a Vollstandig (Quincy's version of Bankai pretty much), enhanced durability, great agility, and reishi manipulation.

Powers/Abilities (Fujin)
Fujin is the god of wind and obviously, most of his powers emphasize on his ability to utilize wind and use it as a projectile for long range kombat and use it to allow himself to levitate. He can cast deadly tornadoes to lure his opponents into him and it leaves them vulnerable for a deadly follow up attack and he can use wind to levitate his opponents and slam them to the ground. His weapon of choice is a crossbow in MK4 and the Devastator, a heavy ancient sword in Armageddon. Also, since he is a god and he is the god of wind, Fujin can’t die even if he’s taking on a mortal form to bring himself to the level of mortals in battle. He only has two fatalities: the Crossbow Kill, where he uses his crossbow to kill of his opponent and the Skinner, where he directs huge concentrations of wind at his opponent that it rips their skin off.

Verdict (by MechG)
And the winner is...
Ok after quickly evaluating the two, it’s obvious that it is not a close contest to begin with. I chose this matchup to pave way for the top tier characters as this fight night comes down the stretch, so basically it is a squash match. Fujin was the clear winner to begin with for the main reason that he is an all-powerful god. I’m not going to completely down Candice; she did use her powerful lightning manipulations to take down the wild and feral Kenpachi Zaraki. Taking down Kenpachi is a proud achievement because no one comes away alive when facing that man with Ichigo as the exception (of course). However with Fujin, it’s a no brainer that he dominates Candice (grow up people) in terms of story and powers/abilities. Even though Fujin didn’t impress me as much when I first played MK4 with his move sets and his ability to manipulate wind, looking at his story, I truly believed that Fujin would’ve had a bigger role in the story had Raiden not hog all the spotlight in the later games, jeez I didn’t know gods can be so spoiled with the amount of screen time they have on the spotlight. He showed glimpses in his roles in MK4 and Armageddon that he can be a prominent character in the series; it will be interesting to see if he will be brought back for a bigger role in MKX since Shinnok will assume the role as the main antagonist again. ~ FUJIN WINS, FLAWLESS VICTORY.
